Current mood:last ditch effort
It's been a while since I've put my thoughts to the screen other than the occasional status update or comment.  It's been pretty damn lonely at the shop for the past few months.  I find myself doing a lot of contemplation and evaluation of the purpose and mission of Inner Journeys and wondering if the shop even HAS a purpose and a mission any longer.

Attendance to rituals and workshops is low, sales are non-existent and the NEXT person that walks into my shop and says "I can get it cheaper from walmart, amazon, books-a-million, fill-in-the-blank" but wants to stand there and pick my brain for FREE can just walk right back out.  You get what you pay for when you shop with mass merchandiser.  You get a product and nothing else.

I have a active customer database of over 500 names.  In the past six months, 20 people...a MERE TWENTY PEOPLE have been keeping Inner Journeys alive with their purchases.  It's just enough to pay the rent and keep the lights on.  It's not nearly enough for me to restock merchandise or bring in new stuff.

There is a limit to how long I can sustain the shop in this manner and that limit is rapidly approaching.

With that being said...thanks to a generous agreement with the now-closed Southern Hemisphere of Savannah, I do have dozens of new book titles in the shop and a lot of new dragon, egyptian, native american and celtic pieces.  Many are listed on the website at www.innerjourneysinc.com .   Many many more are being put out on the shelves daily.  I encourage (beg) you to come by, take a look and do a little shopping.  I still believe in what Inner Journeys was born to do, and I still believe in the mission.  I just need a little help to keep it going.

Will you help?

Current mood:special treat for shoppers who mention this blog,

Hello folks!

Although the Inner Journeys information pipe line hasn't had a lot of buzz going on lately, there has been a lot going on behind the scenes.

what to watch for

**brand new workshops and roundtable discussions exploring a variety of topics.

**new oil blends, potions, mojo bags, spell kits and more from my little workroom
**new opportunities for networking
**new publications

I'm also interested in your feedback!  What do you anticipate your needs to be for the year ahead?  Incense and candles?  Books?  Advice?  The ability to have oil blends created at a drop by drop price? Readings?

Hugs and Happiness
Paige

The latest edition of the Inner Journeys "News and Views" newsletter has gone out.  For those of you that get it already, let me know what you think of the new format.  A few (very few) people were having problems with their links from the newsletter to the website.

If you are NOT getting the newsletter and would like to, please drop me an email at paige@innerjourneysinc.com and provide your NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS, MAILING ADDRESS, TELEPHONE NUMBER AND DATE OF BIRTH.

I'm so VERY excited about the new format.  It allows me to condense the size of the newsletter going out, making it more accessible to more mailboxes, and also allows me to connect the newsletter to the webpage.

Thanks for those of you that joined me on Twitter and Facebook.  Want to know how to find me? Email me.  paige@innerjourneysinc.com

I have the most amazing smudge bundles in, just this week, and straight from Cherokee Country.  My good friend and colleague Marion Ingle has an herb store there on the reservation and sent me a nice selection of sage and sweetgrass for smudging.

Mercury Retrograde is grinding to a halt and the ambassador of communication and all things related moves direct about now.  All those brainstorming sessions should start to pay off if you will put the ooomph behind the thoughts and make them happen.

Valentines is just around the corner.  There will be a separate bulletin about the fabulous opportunities IJ offers you!

Stay tuned and Be Blissed

Yup.
blissed.

Blissfully Blessed
Paige

Current mood:Generous and Excited!
I draw inspiration from wherever I find it, and this morning, i have the following reminder in my inbox -

Starting a new year is like starting anything else new; a scary challenge and an exciting opportunity. Faced with 365 unwritten pages of our lives, we have a chance to create our futures however we like. Are we going to fall into old habits so that the future looks like the past or are we going to use this opportunity to craft something new? Happy endings made from fresh beginnings.

This has inspired me to offer you all a Free Astrology profile for 2009.  This chart is personalized to YOUR time, date and place of birth and will outline the ups and downs you can expect in the year ahead.  Just come in armed with this information, and spend $25 or more, store-front or
online and I will get busy and put this together for you!

Can't wait to see you there.

We just got in our annual shipment of Amy Brown Fairy Diva's and Ceramic Art tiles!  The new bubble diva's are amazing this year, and we also got in some adorable dragon figurines.

We expanded the selection this year by adding some pewter dragons and fairies, reasonably priced under $20.

Stacey Stine holiday items include a handcrafted Green Man and Mother Earth from clay.  You have to see these amazing beauties to appreciate them.

We are expecting an exciting new shipment of holiday items next week.  Look for crackled glass lanterns and photo frames, more fairy figurines, beautiful stained glass tea light holders, and more.

Check out our new line of Jackie and Mildred yarn products:  scarves, beanies, toboggans, soap bags and kitchen scrubbies.

The list is long, the items are plentiful and most are priced UNDER TWENTY BUCKS!  How perfect is that for your holiday shopping!!!

Whew!  The move is over and we are (nearly) settled into our new space at 203 Currie Street, nestled in the front part of the new Art and Soul Center for Creative and Spiritual Development, right alongside A World of Arts and Crafts.

It was a grueling, taxing week, and I'm thankful for the folks that gave me a hand.  Angel and her family as well as Roy B. were great help with the painting, and John, Wade C., Kaleb, Joel and Cassie for their muscle and determination and organization.

The biggest shout out goes to my beloved husband who donated his week of vacation to helping me move.   He did the work of three people in the last days of the move and never wavered, never complained.  He was there when others couldn't be.  He has unflagging faith in me and in Inner Journeys and I love him for it.

Be sure to drop by soon and check out the new digs.

I gotta say, the energy over at the new place is really cool.  We have a lush fenced in yard that is just begging for some creative, tender loving care.  Amazing architecture, hard wood floors and a true front porch.  I can already hear the windchimes in the breeze.

Friday and Saturday will be a Super Moving Sale!!!

I can still use your help if you have a half hour or more to volunteer over the weekend and first part of next week.

Hope to see you all at the old place AND the new!

I attended the Red Moon Herb Southeastern Women's Conference over the past weekend outside of Asheville, NC.  I went with two amazing women that I am lucky enough to call friends, and the entire experience was powerful beyond belief.

The three day retreat was jam packed full of information, mostly about herbs and aromatherapy, but more than that, it was a unique opportunity for over 500 women to bond in a unique and spiritual way.

On Saturday night, we all participated in an Evening Celebration led by ALisa Starkweather.  We were visited by several potent archetypes who represented womanhood.  The celebration started with all the women facing one another in two lines, forming a tunnel, and then each turning and walking through this tunnel.  The power and energy was amazing.

Each of the archetypes presented were powerful in and of themselves, but one in particular moved me to the bottom of my soul.  She was the Weeping Wailing Woman.  She represented the sorrow and pain that each of us carry as women.

She showed up on the edge of the circle of women, and at first, you only heard this anguished wailing and weeping in the distance.  The closer she got, the deeper the pain was, and the more intense her keening became.  As I looked around this incredible group of women, I became aware that we all had tears in our eyes, celebrating and releasing some private sorrow.  Before the moment had passed, many of the women, myself included, were openly crying for no specific reason except we chose to grieve together.

I was seated with the drummers and was embraced by the woman to my left and our tears flowed together.  To this moment, I can't tell you what I was sorrowing and weeping for, only that for a moment, I was the Weeping Wailing Woman.

Remember that sorrow and pain is a part of life, and as women we need to honor that as much as we honor any other aspect of who we are.  There is strength and beauty in our sorrow, and it makes us more amazing in the end.
There is a magnet here at the shop that says, "The soul would have no rainbow if the eyes had no tears".

Celebrate your sorrow.

Celebrate your pain.

Celebrate the Weeping Wailing Woman.

Celebrate yourself.
