Howdy to all our fans, from the Detour boys!  Since we last posted here, our band has experienced yet more changes....

Mike Sumner, our high class banjo player, has launched his banjo career in Nashville with Randy Kohrs and is pursuing the Dream there in studio and on stage.  We wish him well and look forward to future jam sessions and back stage passes....

Even though we'll miss Mike, we are thrilled that master banjo player Kevin Gaugier is available to come aboard as our new banjo player.  Kevin's been playing bluegrass, acoustic swing and jazz, and folk in the Grand Rapids area for many years, and is well-known in the region for his creativity, imagination, and energy.  Welcome, Mr Gaugier!

This past summer, we had a grand time playing at the Great Lakes Folk Festival, Kendalville Tri-state Bluegrass Festival, and Thumbfest, over in Lexington.  And we're especially grateful to dobro giant Al Bates for bringing his talents to our gigs in the U.P. and Bay City!

We've been recording our next CD; about 8 or 9 songs have been cut, and we're in the home stretch.  If we can, we'll stream a bit or two from here or at our website.  Speaking of which, we're rebuilding that thing, too.  Look for a new Detour web presence in a week or two!

Meanwhile, get your Detour fix right here!
