About A Pseudomusic EPIn brief: No human-playable instruments, no pre-programmed samples, not even a midi-controller. Just a mouse, a QWERTY keyboard, a few synths and far more hours than I care to remember. This EP was put together individual sound by individual sound, note by painstaking note. I call this: Pseudomusic. I’ve enjoyed making it, I hope you enjoy listening to it. Complaints not welcome. No refunds.

First, an introduction to Bob. Bob was an ordinary Joe (or, Bob, if you will) who was depressed. Bob's inconsiderate neighbours played Partial Reptile's debut album, Industrial Lullabies, really, really loudly one night. Unable to drown it out, an already depressed Bob killed himself to escape the noise.
Bob made it to Heaven, and was granted eternal bliss on condition that he never again viewed the mortal coil. However, while in Heaven, Bob heard a disturbing rumour that Partial Reptile, the act responsible for his death, was releasing a new single and even working on a new EP. Bob couldn't resist peeping, to know for sure. And it was true, Partial Reptile had released a new Double A-Side; We Make the Sun / The Winter Snow and both were indeed from an 'in the works' EP called Pseudomusic.
When we last left Bob, he was in Hell, where he'd been sentenced to an eternity of listening to Partial Reptile. Now, Bob's story continues…
Bob's ears were bleeding, he'd been listening to the same 56 minutes of Partial Reptile noise, 24/7 for a whole two months now. If he wasn't already dead, he'd kill himself.
To upgrade his punishment, Satan FM had added the new Partial Reptile single, We Make the Sun, to the play list, and he hated that even more than Industrial Lullabies.
With the addition, however, he did get the occasional break when every six hours the noise was interrupted by a newscast of Partial Reptile updates. Over the next few weeks he learned that recording of the EP had finished, and that it was due to be mastered and released sometime in the next couple of months.
Bob was pissed! So much so that he began to devise a plan to escape Hell and return to the mortal coil, to stop Partial Reptile. Unfortunately, his plan was discovered, and as punishment; The promotional video for the single We Make the Sun was played over and over again while he listened to the audio.

Hi Folks, just a quick note to let you know about this. Eerie Streets is a place where Eddie Hunt, an amateur author publishes his short novels, one chapter a week. His current story is a Heaven / Hell Fantasy thing called Lea, and I've compiled 9 tracks to help further destroy his reader's minds (and yours, of course). Mostly just instrumental or alternative versions of tracks from the last album and forthcoming EP, but there's also 2 brand new tracks. And, as always, all tracks are free to download. You can find it at eeriestreets.com - or eeriestreets.com/soundtrack.php to be more precise. You can also find Eerie Streets on Myspace at myspace.com/eeriestreets Hope you enjoy. Oh, and since it's coming close to that time of year again and I mightn't get a chance to do this later; A very Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year to all of you. Thank you for all your support in the past year. I'll drop a message early in the new year with a release date for Pseudomusic. Take Care.

G.O.D. To promote the new singles and Satan to pay the bills as Bob embarks on the journey of his lifetime. A reading from the book of Reptile. The night was cold, wet and depressing. Life seemed like it couldn't get any worse. Bob was at the lowest point of his existence. All of a sudden, an enchanting vocal choir became audible in the distance, backed by melodic, emotive piano playing and a string quartet of indescribable beauty. Life seemed better, things might not be as bad as he'd imagined. Then the inconsiderate neighbors started playing that partial reptile noise again. Bob killed himself. As his blood pooled on the floor of his apartment, something that would eventually make him turn in his grave was happening thousands of miles away. partial reptile was working hard on the follow-up to his debut album, Industrial Lullabies. The new EP, pseudomusic was well on it's way to being released as a finished product. But there were things to be done first, such as making a music video and releasing a single. The music video emerged in the form of The Winter Snow, a reflective, slow and depressing piece of music set to like-minded visuals. Some though this was it, this was the next partial reptile release. They were wrong. Behind the scenes, partial reptile was putting the finishing touches to the second part of the puzzle. The second A in the double A-side that was to become We Make the Sun / The Winter Snow simultaneous single release. Bob had made it to heaven. He was surprised. He'd always been a bit of a bastard. But, nevertheless, he reached the pearly gates with an all access pass and a guarantee of eternal bliss as long as he never again viewed the mortal world. After several days of happiness, Bob heard a disturbing rumour; partial reptile had another video on the way. Unable to rest in paradise while this was a possibility, Bob glanced at the mortal world. partial reptile was indeed about to release a new video for We Make the Sun, on Monday 12th of November. And to make matters worse, the singles were going on sale at the same time through http://www.downloadmusic.ie/?artist=52. As if this news wasn't devastating enough to Bob, he was cast out of Heaven for viewing the mortal coil and condemned to an eternity of listening to non-stop partial reptile while having hot pokers inserted into his nostrils. But something even more sinister had happened. It turns out that the being known as God, was actually a music agency who had been hired by partial reptile just a few days beforehand. On realising that Bob's destiny was in their hands, the Good Ol' Deception Music Agency (GOD for short) had devised a plan that would rake up substantial royalty cheques from Satan FM. During this time partial reptile hit on an ingenious idea; why not give away loads of free music? So partial reptile gave Industrial Lullabies away on his website http://www.partialreptile.com. Even now, minutes later, the album is still available to download for anyone who wants a copy. partial reptile also put the new singles, We Make the Sun and The Winter Snow in his MySpace player at http://www.partialreptile.com. In the months that were to follow, partial reptile would release the EP, pseudomusic, and Bob would embark on an epic quest to cleanse his ears of partial reptile noise. But that's a story for another day. 'More sense of musical rebellion in a single track than most indie bands can muster in a career...' Jackie Hayden, Hotpress. 'Icy Ambient at it's most disturbing... fear and beauty aplenty...its chills up the spine time...an indelible and gloomy glamour...' Current mood: confused
As some of you might remember, I gave away the album 'Industrial Lullabies' in August for free download. It actually worked out quite well, the site got a good deal of traffic, a lot of copies got snatched and lots of cool new people got in contact. So I was happy.
I got a message from someone the other day giving out to me that I'd only given it away for a limited time. I engaged in some banter with the individual in question and insults were thrown both ways (all in good fun of course, it was a friend incidentally).
But it got an idea going round in my head, one of those annoying little bastards that I just can't decide on, 'Should I just go ahead and keep giving the album away on a permanent basis?'
I'd like your opinions, I haven't any problem with it in theory. I already let people stream it on the website. But do YOU (yeah, you!) think I should let people download it free? If you do, please mail, comment, message etc. me to let me know. Just say something like 'Yes, you should'.
If you absolutely don't think I should, then I would also ask you to please let me know so, this time saying something like 'No, you shouldn't'.
I'm working hard on the new EP, 'Pseudomusic' at the moment (well I'm working on it anyway), and I'm undecided about how I'd like to put it out (aka: for sale, free or partially free), so my decision on Industrial Lullabies will affect the decision on that as well.
Thoughts? Anyone? Start a petition or something :)
