Hello Friends. Please check out the new dates for 2010. We'll be posting more in the weeks to come but here is where we're at so far. Also, as a present to you, check out the Christmas song that we recorded and download it for free. Or if you want to give us a present to help in the new year's travels, pay whatever you see fit. (note: the quality of the recording is somewhat poor and so I would advise turning up your speakers or listening with headphones.)

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year.

Hey Everyone!

My Old Kentucky Blog just posted a Laundro Matinee in which we played as the backing group for our very good friend who performs under the name Cedarwell. The session turned out super well. Check it out. Erik's music is beautiful and it was a huge honor to be able to play some of his songs with him.

Greetings all of you fine people.

Well we are done with our first three weeks of travel and tour. For the first two weeks we traveled with this great band called Caroline Smith and the Good Night Sleeps (facetiously referred to as Randel Johnson and Everyone's Getting Up!).

Check them out here: http://www.myspace.com/carolinesmithmusic.

They put on such a good show and are just really great people.

We then traveled to Toronto, ON to perform in NXNE (SXSW little brother to the north). It was quite a time. I think I could live in Toronto and be a happy man. Very kind people and some really good bands. We connected with two particularly that you should certainly spend some time with and one more that blew Jason and Jesse's hair back for a song or two:

1. Said the Whale- http://www.myspace.com/saidthewhale (Played with these folks at the Criminal Records in-store and got to know them a little bit. Good band, good people.)

2. Dan Magan- http://www.danmanganmusic.com/ (Played with him at C'est What?. Good man, good music)

3. Zoo Bombs- ttp://www.myspace.com/zoobombs (These guys are from Tokoyo. Jason and Jesse saw these guys and said that their last song was amazing. A Stooges esch straight up rock show.)

We did four shows in the two days we were there, the last show ending in time for us to get to the place we were staying at sunrise. Go to Toronto everyone. It will be a nice time.

Check out our photos page for some photos of all of our adventures. (NOTE: we often forgot the camera in the car and so the photos don't really cover everything but it will give you a taste.)

Alright. Love you.

Hey Friends,

Thanks to all who came out to celebrate our first album's Birthday! What fun!

Some other folks around the country and blogosphere have been writing about us too! For example: Paste Magazine has named us Band of the Week! http://www.pastemagazine.com/

Also! We're taking the show on the road! Wish us luck. We leave on June 2 for Iowa and won't be back home till July 9th for a show at Phoenix Park with M. Perry & the Long Beds. Visit our myspace to track our progress and to see more dates posted as they're booked.

These first two weeks will be with friends, Caroline Smith and the Good Night Sleeps.

Well, we recently did a recording session with Daytrotter.com and now it's up on their site!

If you don't know, they're pretty cool dudes down in Rock Island, IL putting sounds on tapes, drawing pretty pictures, and whispering swirling dream-thought right in your ears. It's an honor that they would have us over for a visit.

Thank you. Thank you Daytrotter.

Well it has been a year. A year since graduation from college, since starting the the recording process of the full length album, since I felt completely stable emotionally. Now that last one is probably not true but big transitions even when they are comprised of you staying in the town that you went to school in for the last 5 years and deciding to take as much time as is needed to record an album that you are happy with and just wade through  the post partum depression after finally giving birth to this dream of focusing as much as you can on music when school finally is done....(how did I start this sentence, OH yeah).....are hard.

Yes, I realize that I have wanted to being a musician for my whole life and thus far I have been I guess. Thanks Mom and Dad.  It's scary once you are finally in a place where you can begin to realize that dream or birth that child (if you'll let me continue with that metaphor) and you're freak'n man cause you might drop it on it's head or not be patient enough with it or live vicariously through it or compare it to your other friends kids and not know how it adds up. I don't want to even get into the debate over breast feeding versus formula. (Sorry I work with a lot of mothers)  Anyway it has been a learning process and over all I am happy to say that it has been good.  The album is sounding good.  The writing is going well.  We just performed a 9 song set of new music with our freinds Cedarwell and JPO5  on May 9 and 10 and it went pretty well.

Status:
-We have recently sent out unmasterd demos of the full album to about 50 labels and are waiting to see if any interest is there.
-We are working on figuring out how to take the blog world by storm or possibly through passive non-violent resistence
-I just bought some Quina, a grain that is a complete protein and was a staple of the Aztec and Incan diets, Jason and Jesse have been raving about for a while.
-We hope to camp this summer.

So in conclusion I am proud to anounce the healthy birth of an a-sexual musical endeavor/life/goal that weighs (on my mind) about as much as a 16-wheeler or a palm sized water balloon depending on the day and is 21 inches long (I didn't know how to make the lenght thing work....how about: it's hopfully about 60 years long...I don't know if that works. Lets just go with the 21 inches thing for now).

Listening to:
MegaFaun "Bury the Square"
Tom Waits "Rain Dogs" 1985 and "Swordfish Trombone" 1983
Magnetic Fields "Distortion"

Alright. Love you.

P.S. Come see us on the "Midwest Knows" tour in June with our freinds Laarks. Dates up soon.
