Go Gypsy Dave Smith, playing a song about his wife with his heros at his home gig. Does it come any better than this.

Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett are guitar players.
In fact they are the guitar players with the legendary band Little Feat...
Now they have joined forces to form an acoustic duet that will quite frankly blow you away. Performing songs from their Little Feat catalogue and more with a decidedly different twist.
Paul Barrere....... guitar and slide guitar Fred Tackett....... trumpet, and mandolin
Following their 2007 sell out appearance at the legendary Highland Venue Strathpeffer Pavilion, Paul and Fred pledged to play more and see more of Scotland, Paul says "We love the Highlands, Strathpeffer reminded us so much of our Little Feat adopted Appalachian retreat town of Eureka Springs where we have a fan get together every year".
Little Feat are more than a band these days they have become a world wide family, with fans and friends helping out with gigs and converging on concerts and get together around the planet. After the warm reception they received from their Scottish fraternity with people traveling from all parts of Scotland (and beyond) for the gig, they pledged to return and did so with the full band playing The Edinburgh Jazz Festival and opening the Belladrum Festival Tartan Heart Fringe in Inverness as the climax of an epic Summer Euro Tour to promote their new album "Join The Band".
The Join The Duo Scottish Tour tour will take a more leisurely pace and visit the areas that the band couldn't get to, including the most Northerly point of mainland Scotland for a house concert at Dunnet Head Light House, Aberdeen "The Tunnels", Glasgow, "Ã'ran Mór" as well as the much anticipated return to The Pavilion to play their adopted Highland home, Strathpeffer.
Fred Tackett plays guitar, trumpet, and mandolin for Little Feat. Hailing from Arkansas, Fred Tackett worked as a side man on many Little Feat albums before becoming a full member of the band for Let It Roll. Along with his fine guitar work, Fred's mandolin and trumpet have become a featured part of the Little Feat sound. Robert Palmer writes about Fred Tackett's early years in Rock and Roll: An Unruly History. In addition to his work with the Feat, Fred has a very large discography of work with other artists.
Paul Barrere plays guitar and slide guitar, and sings lead and background vocals for Little Feat. Paul Barrere joined Little Feat for the band's third album Dixie Chicken, and has been with the band since. During Little Feat's early 80's hiatus, Paul led the group Chicken Legs. Since Little Feat's return with "Let it Roll", Paul has stepped more into the spotlight. Paul's guitar, vocals, and songwriting are now an important part of the Little Feat sound.
In addition to his work with Little Feat, Paul Barrere has also recorded and performed with many other fine musicians including: Chicken Legs, the Blues Busters (featuring Catfish Hodge), Valerie Carter, Chico Hamilton, Bonnie Raitt, Robert Palmer, and Carly Simon.
Gypsy Dave Smith...... Dobro and Guitar. http://www.nessmp3.com/music/Gypsy_Dave_Smith
Life long Little Feat fan Gypsy Dave Smith is no stranger to Scotland, born in Australia of Highland fisher folk who left for the fishing grounds of eastern Australia after the demise of The Scottish Herring grounds.
A veteran of the dobro blues guitar, (The Dobro was invented by Jozef Dopyera to amplify the guitar by means of a resonator before the advent of electrical amps) he left Australia for the life of Robert Johnson in his 20's, (30 years ago) with a 1933 Dobro earned from soul. His amazingly authentic picking style recalls the hard travelling' days of Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson and Mississippi John Hurt, in every note and timber, and steered his journey half way round the world from Newcastle Australia to find his soul mate, family and musical home in Newcastle UK. On visiting The Highlands with Martin Stephenson (long time collaborator and traveling partner) in the early 80's he set about finding new fans (and lost family) in Scotland, seeing regular returns for events like the Highland Festival, where in 1998 he headed up a steel guitar review called "Shining Like a National Steel Guitar" in the same year as he was invited to take part in the Jozef Dopyera Festival in Slovakia to celebrate the Inventor of the Resonator Guitar and 90th anniversary of the innovative instrument. More recently he's become a regular and musician in residence at The Belladrum Festival in The Highlands.
Now a regular on a great many other profile European Festivals, in addition he is a musician and character of renown to many venues around the Toon and around the rest of the Blues community of the UK.
Gypsy Dave Smith says "I'm a long time fan of Paul Barrere's style and Little Feats songwriting, I got to open for Paul and Fred in Newcastle last year and jumped at the chance to play with them and return to Scotland on this tour I can't wait" | ..TABLE>

Those fine people at Echo Productions are on the verge of finishing off the Gypsy Dave Live at the Cluny Video project. They are just putting the finishing touches to it, which is largely titling and crediting. Then before long they will turn their attention to mastering onto DVD which is a job all on its own and can take quite a long time, what with the artwork to design and chapters to render and put on. However should only be a couple of weeks more now info here http://www.myspace.com/echofilmsuk
