MY BIRTHDAY BLOG and THE YEAR AHEAD

ALOHA!

Friends, family, everyone... my birthday is happening in just a few minutes, so I decided now would be a great time for an update! I want to tell you about things going on in my life and let you know all the great plans I have for this coming year. Thanks for taking the time to read!

2007 RECAP
Last year was a great year in music, art and life for me! My family and friends were all in good health, I released TWO records ("Koji Sings Little Bird" in May, "Monsters" in November), toured and played over 100 shows including my first tour to England! Many of these were benefit shows raising thousands and thousands of dollars for great organizations, big and small, such as Invisible Children & Rock Uganda, Power Up Gambia, Lower Paxton Youth Center as well as money for cancer research and hunger causes. I am very blessed to have had those opportunities to share in people's lives and give back to the community. Thank you to everyone who took part in that and made it possible.

2008 and BEYOND!
This year looks to be very promising! I can sense a change in our country and the world. Music and art, politics, and in my own personal life--things look DIFFERENT! And this is so encouraging to me! I hope you're feeling great about this year ahead of you because it's going to be good. Here's a little bit about where I am going:

COLORMAKE - This is my new company which I started with a group of artists. (If you have to stop reading soon, finish this paragraph. It could change your life.) COLORMAKE is a interdisciplinary arts organization which is product, service, and event based. We are taking music, photography, painting/drawing, sculpture, film & video, dance, theater, writing, and everything else under the sun and realizing new ideas and possibilities with our projects! We are INCLUSIVE and there will be many opportunities for you to contribute! Colormake is about dreaming and about doing. What do you dream? What are you doing?

RECORDING - I am currently working on FOUR records for Colormake including a new release as early as May. Stay tuned for more details.

I'M GOIN' TO EUROPE - In March, I am going to Europe once again to perform. This time I am playing a festival in Belgium called Arctic Sounds Festival. It's on it's fifth year and I'm very excited to participate and share my music and positive message. What I am most looking forward to is experiencing their culture and gaining more perspective about this big ol' rock called Earth. Pretty sweet, right?

I'M GOIN' TO AMERICA - This year I have plans to do several U.S. tours that will include my first trip out to the West Coast. I'll be releasing details about my plans this Spring. Watch out!

VOLUNTEERING & SERVICE - Every year I make time to participate in benefit and charity events and activities. There's a camp for special needs adults (like mental retardation, autism, downs syndrome, etc.) that I've been helping at since I was 12! Expect to see me at leadership seminars such as HOBY and of course lending my talents to people organizing benefit concerts.

I am blessed! I am thankful! I am happy to be here! And I want to encourage you in joining me in doing our best this year. Really making change in our lives and in doing so creating positive change in the world we live in. Thanks for taking the time read. You are beautiful.
