Today I read a comment from a young man from Texas who is quite forward in expressing his Christian religious beliefs and proudly proclaims his "conservative" positions. This young man was asking why someone would circulate a petition to a "conservative" to request Pres. Obama to reinstate restrictions of wolf hunting in Alaska. I wonder what this young man is "conserving" with his conservatism. Many people think it is important that we conserve our world so future generations will be able to enjoy the bounty and beauty that we enjoy. Apparently, this young man's concept of "conservatism" does not encompass those ideas.

My opinion is that his idea of "conservatism" is just a smokescreen for selfish greed. I also think that we've had way too much of that type of "conservatism" lately and need to get more of the "conserve the planet" type of conservatism, you know, like Teddy Roosevelt advocated.

But to answer my rhetorical question - it was Ronald Reagan.

Seriously, this guy has got to go. Perjury is a crime and the laws of the nation HAVE to start being enforced, even and especially for those who have "connections" and/or are in high public office. Senate Ethics Committee, please tee one up here and drive it out.

I know this is old news, but with the signing of the economic stimulus package today I am prompted to comment.

The Bush administration knew FIFTEEN months ago that the economy was in a recession and buried the information for a year. If they had acted when they knew what was going on they may have been able to stem the tide of misery that is currently overwhelming the world.

I believe that this is one of the most heinous assaults they have perpetrated and it really pisses me off!!

This is what "bipartisanship" feels like when you're in the minority. We get to set the agenda, make the rules, and decide what gets voted on. You get to comment, suggest, and vote.

Maybe you should review your high school civics text because it seems like being in the majority for over a decade has blunted your memory.

And by the way, the obstructionist tactics you're doing isn't really filibustering - it's a negotiated stall. You should have to read into the congressional record until you can't any more.

Huffington Post just reported that Sen. Judd Gregg has withdrawn his nomination for Secretary of Commerce. In his written comments he says that "Obviously the President requires a team that is fully supportive of all his initiatives." So Gregg is saying that if HE can't get his way all the time then he has no desire to serve the interests of the people of the United States of America. What a cowardly, spoiled brat.

Pres. Obama, please keep reaching out to Republicans, maybe you will find one that is not so self-absorbed that they cannot engage in a discussion... good luck!

When listening to cable and broadcast news and opinion shows you will hear Conservatives say it is OK to delay the stimulus "package" for THREE MONTHS and let the suffering of middle class families multiply while they debate about less than 1/10 of one percent of the bill. But, when their friends in the "financial services industry" demand billions of dollars they pull a hammy jumping high enough to immediately supply a bailout.

This is madness.

Try to stay awake people!

The Energy Bus was heading down the road and suddenly, BAM, right into the ditch.

Then the National Defense Bus was inexplicably driven into the ditch.

Not long after and just as strangely, the National Security Bus followed the National Defense Bus into the ditch.

Later, the Emergency Management Bus was driven into the ditch in excruciatingly slow motion.

The Medication Bus was then steered off the road and right into the ditch.

And now the Financial Systems bus has crashed into the ditch.

And you see this, and you know who's running the bus company and who the drivers are, and you're awake enough to not hire that company again this year.

And yet you are going to vote for a Third Party Candidate in the Presidential election because you just can't bring yourself to cast a vote for, for, for what...?

A Democrat?

A Chicagoan?

A son of a foreign national?

Or is it something else, something you won't admit to?

Just wondering.
