Aaron LaFalce remakes the 1968 Hit

So I had the honor of talking with Little Stevie on the phone today. What a cool DUDE !! Springsteen is one of my top 2 heroes for writing and Stevie, being his right hand man, was so cool on the phone, I was stoked.

We talked about his radio show "LITTLE STEVENS UNDERGROUND GARAGE" and then off the interview wrapped about music...and I can tell you first hand - he's the real deal. I great guy...and mult-talented human being.

He and the guys are gearing up to play Super Bowl this year and Bruce has a new CD coming out in January '09.

When B.B. King came to Asheville a couple of years ago to play at the Civic Center, his management decided at the last minute to have a solo acoustic opener. Well someone mentioned "Aaron LaFalce" and the calls where made to my cell phone - but I have my phone turned off because I was in a recording session. I got out of the session and checked my messages. I had a voicemail from my friend Chris who was giving me the details, checked my watch, and that point I was an hour late for taking the gig. Needless to say I got sick to my stomach and cursed myself all the way home. People next to me in traffic probably though I was possessed. Oh well, maybe next time...haha

I'm at work and I'm thinkin' about the Steely Dan concert I saw this past weekend. Damn. So I realize that I've been missing some deep music in my life and i finally got to see some on Saturday. Music so spiritual. Especially when it is as fine and coherent as Steely Dan. Maybe that's what the world needs (among other things). Just some deep, feel-good music.
