Ahoj Internet Users! The talented and very generous Rodrigo de la Parra is to thank for this new video for the song "Any Moment Now". A Lite Brite making party with John Carpenter's "They Live" is the vibe...if that makes any sense. All is well and sleepy here with team kfx. The autumn so far here in Praha has been so lovely. Babi Leto! Writing some new songs, but no plans for any tours or recordings as of this post. If you have the chance, go check out our old pals The Get Up Kids on tour right now. Having had the pleasure of travelling around Europe with them this August, I can safely say they are in fine form. Ty Vole! team kfx

First off, a massive thanks to everyone who continually emails the band with praise. Koufax has been a group that has existed for 10 years now, so for anyone to still have any interest in us old men, we are sincerely flattered.
For our European friends who email us with gig inquiries: We have no current tour plans since our last album "Strugglers" was never properly released there. Over the last eight years, we enjoyed your fine continent a half dozen times as a group. Vielen Dank, Cheers, Gracias, Diky Moc, Merci, Grazie!!!
We do have some midwestern USA gigs in April. If you are able to attend, please come say hello at the gigs and we'll make party!
For KFX Book Club fans: Milan Kundera "The Joke"
xoxo, team kfx

The USA record label for Koufax has a brand new American Apparel T-Shirt Design that can be viewed and purchased exclusively online. Looks pretty psychedelicate! Thanks to everyone who came out for the CMJ shows in Manhattan last week. What a fine city it is! Vesuvio in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn is top dog in town for a slice. Heart and Soul is his secret weapon. Spent a week hanging out w/ an old friend of the band in Brooklyn. It might have been the fact that we were both totally sober all week, but we decided to start freestyling verses to various songs adding our own wrongness to each one. Some examples: "If you having slice problems I feel bad for you son, I got a egg cheese omelette on a hoagie ass bun." (a la Jay Z's 99 problems), "Drink electrolytes....Talladega nights" (a la Bob Marley's 'Get up Stand Up'), "Kombucha come back.....Teach me 'bout your grown ass ways" (a la Hall & Oates' 'Baby Come Back') It was at this point that I realized we shared not only the struggle of being ginger, but a kindred spirit for getting BONKERS! Finally, to members of Team Brains / Slight Apathy, have a read with what Noam Chomsky has to say regarding this election. One Love....Two Slices (VESUVIO!) rob

After a 13 hour drive straight from a show in Ohio, we arrived in lovely Boston early in the morning yesterday. This week's tour marks three different lineups in three weeks for koufax....we are a true collective these days. We rolled into the theater district to perform 3 new songs on WERS, and things went rather well seeing as how we hadn't practiced or played w/ this lineup since late august. We then caught a quick pint in a great Boston bar before we headed to Cambridge to play at the Middle East. The kids in attendance were all in high spirits and it was nice to see people enjoying themselves on a Monday night. Massive thanks to our new friends who had us over for a few drinks! Their place was a loft in a old warehouse where the Fig Newton was born. Anyhow, it is so lovely this time of year in New England, so we're about to have a stroll in the park before heading to Brooklyn. We're still stopping at Yale's Skull and Bones en route...too big of fatalists to pass on that one...ha!

a great era in koufax (especially according to the punters) was recording and touring "social life." during this time, benny force from detroit was the true talent on both electric bass and guitar. he had a call name of "bear" or sometimes if we weren't short of wind, "redford's number one party bear." while having a run the other day in sydney, i came across this clip on the television. suffice to say, my first thought was, "is this real life?" the next thought was, "has benny filed legal action?" perhaps my own "too cheap to shave regularly" aesthetic needs some rethinking after seeing that. on september 11, 2001, koufax was driving into a gig in sheffield, england. we had still another month left of a european tour before we would return to the states. it was quite surreal (and likely better for our stress levels) to be so far removed from american news for that time and coming back to such a climate change. i have a bit of that same anxiety upon returning to the states tomorrow after hearing a month's worth of doomsday reports regarding the american economy in a different hemisphere. i was reminded of a fantastic film from 1976 called "network" and the chill inducing (especially in this current zeitgeist) diatribe the lead character has. a film certainly worth watching to anyone out there on team brains / team no apathy! anyhow, we have a bunch of gigs in the month of october in the midwest and northeast. if you live in any of these areas, please come say hello. xoxo rob

It is official. Brisbane (QLD, Australia) is the most "ginger" or as they say "ranga" friendly city in the world. They even have an official day for haters to repent. Here is proof. It's normal to refer to a moth coming out of a hotel room duvet as "shitwig and the angry diaper" right? Humidity can make a man say some nasty things about a small town accommodation... Life continues to be grand here in Oz, with Sydney's harbour being one of the loveliest hotel views I've had the fortune of waking up to. Koufax "Strugglers" was released two days ago in USA via Doghouse Records. It would be a great help to support the band by buying a copy from an indie supplier like Insound. Lord knows neither the band nor label makes any money, so really it is just to help everyone not lose heaps. Thanks to all who've purchased it already and have emailed the band praise. It goes without saying that you are all in fact champions! Reading "Life is Elsewhere" by my one of my all time favorite authors (Milan Kundera). What a classy wordsmith! A strong recommendation to any of his books to the book club kids out there. Stay smart / look sharp! team kfx

yo koufax party peoples! it's your favorite ginger (or as they say here in oz "rang'a" as in orangutan) on the block rob here just checking in since our usa record company has threatened police arrest if i don't blog once a week. tough people they are! i'm writing you from the tropics (darwin, northern territory, australia to be specific). it's a sort of transient / backpacker town which is definitely off the beaten path. basically, imagine boy george w/ a streak of zinc oxide on his nose singing "karma kamelion" and a room full of beach people getting well amongst it. kind of a daytona beach spring break '87 vibe, except instead of "what's up dude?" you hear "heya, how ya going?" i'm currently travelling around this fine continent with some old friends having a grand time. this particular town darwin reminds me of a story from a tour in usa 2 years back where a drunk old lady wanted to party w/ the band we were on tour with at the time. her pick up line was, "i just went skinny dipping for steve irwin's soul." koufax is going to get back on the american rock and roll club circuit in october, this time on the east coast / midwest of. dates popping up very soon. for the koufax book club kids, do your self a favor and pick up the latest david sedaris book "when you are engulfed in flames." a good laugh that man is. finally, do your self a favor and pick up a 8x10 promo gloss of this kind gentle warrior. thanks to sarah in reno for that tip! really when you think of it, who doesn't want to be a macho man...
