Current mood:  calm
Given that I've started blogging on LiveJournal (which has the handy feature allowing you to specify who can read parts of your blog) and am still on blogspot, I probably won't continue to post here much.

that this is just more of the pot calling the kettle black?

Move to censure Bush will have political fallout

Of course it's a stunt but it's just like some of YOUR (stupid) stunts Mister Senator (the idiot Frist here). (and yes, I think it was kinda pointless as a move but someone needs to do something to stop this moronic "president" from usurping what is left of our freedoms)

Unfortunately the Democrats have no backbone ([surprised voice] "This man has no brain!") so it would have gone down like he intended, to split the opposition to make them look a) weak on defense/terrorism, b) disorganized and c) clueless. And since the majority of the population isn't outraged by what the administration has been doing it would have worked and people would have remained behind neo-con candidates despite the fact they are making Americans the most hated people on Earth.

Just look at what the administation is saying about Iran and then examine what they said about Iraq four years ago. Sound familiar?

How can people look at things like the terrorism trial of Moussaouni

Judge Weighs Next Steps in Moussaoui Trial

and not think that the circus is being run by the clowns. (pretty bad clowns at that!) Anyone remember (and I'm dating myself here) the Keystone Kops? It almost sounds like a (very) poorly done Abbott & Costello routine.

I don't think so.

Ports Controversy Not Entirely Resolved

If you look at the text read by the senator, they didn't say they were going to sell the port stuff back to an American company, they said they were transfering management to an American entity.

And (as I posted before) the prince who owns Dubai is mostly likely going to make his displeasure at our (monkey) antics known in very painful economic ways. I wish it would show up in the pocketbook of the pres and the congress people who raised the alarm.

Before you castigate me, I've thought long and hard about the situation and the way it was handled. Taking the pres blind is his fault since he seems to have established an environment where the messenger gets shot (so people don't want to deliver bad news to him). Raising the alarm just so you can look like your tough on terror is pretty bogus too. Especially given the (previous) lax attitude about port security previously. And the review process looked pretty lacsidasical from what I could tell. Taking their word that we'll get to see company documents after things are in place is definately bogus. But there shouldn't be any reason we don't want an Arab owned company to run out ports when it's been perfectly fine to have a British owned company doing it for years and years.

this is Mister Kettle calling, you're black.

Ex-FEMA director admits errors, calls for Chertoff's resignation

You're not exactly an expert on disaster management bozo, so you saying Chertoff should resign because he doesn't have any is the very definition of "bogus". (you may happen to be right, I think he should resign but you're not the one to say it).

The Silence of Bush

The new video we see of the administration "ramping" up for Katrina is not at all surprising to some of us.

My favorite quote from this piece is "You know you're in trouble when Michael Brown outshines you." Whoa!

The impressive question he asked (as reported by his aides) during a defense briefing ("What is the function of the Department of Defense?") may not have been because he's a thoughtful, incisive man. It could well have been (as I think I've been saying for nearly 5 years now) because he's a freaking moron.

Combine that with the fact that he's stubborn and doesn't like to admit when he's wrong and you have the very real possibility that the car he's driving (our country) is heading for a big crash into a tree at the side of the road and a) he doesn't see it, b) he wouldn't admit if he did see it and c) he won't swerve until after the car hits the tree.

Scary!

White House: Bush did not know about ports deal

To which I say "yea right". You've got a poor track record on "careful", mister president. Since your folks lock down the bank accounts of terrorist nuns and prevent terrorist kindergardeners from visiting NASA.

Apparently it is Rocket Surgery!

That's the word. But I don't mean it like you mean it.

Bush pushes renewable energy use

Anyone else find it ironic that Bush's energy policy cuts funding for a lab researching alternatives causing 32 people to lose their jobs. Then when we find out they rush to push money back to the lab so it can hire those folks back just before the president visits to make a speech. After his state of the union speech claimed he was going to try to push to remove our dependence on foreign oil.

Yea, I'm not buying it either buddy!

Leonard Pitts of the Miami Herald gets my opinion about why the VP shooting incident is so important.

Vice president's secrecy is no laughing matter

I've seen a number of blogs around the "sphere" that also get the point but there don't seem to be many journalist who are telling us why they are peeved at him. Maybe they're embarrassed that they can't "get the story" from him. But the question which is utmost in importance remains,

"what else aren't they telling us?"

The Senate killing it's inquiry into the NSA wiretapping program is also disturbing but not at all surprising.

Chertoff Versus Brown, Round Two

The fact that you're engaged in finger pointing with this bozo shows that you're "not up to it" either.

It says he had a "sterling" reputation prosecuting terrorist and mob men. Maybe this job is over his head too and he should go back to doing what he was apparently good at.

We'll see.

upsetting.

Hunter Shot By Vice President Cheney Suffers Heart Attack

"Insiders said the secrecy from Cheney's end is in keeping with his clandestine nature, heightened by the understanding that he will never run for another public office and does not have to answer to voters."

Okay, as long as we're paying your fscking salary, Bozo, you have to answer to the voters. Well the taxpayers at any rate. And you're not just another guy, you have to be more open, more honest and more forthright than the average guy.
