Current mood:  frustrated
Category: Friends

Well, I've been tagged. And first thing I have to apologize to Tessa...sorry if it takes so long to reply!!!! I suppose now I have to tell you 7  (weird) things about me...

Ok:

1. I have a thing with band aids. I love them and I loved them since I can remember. I like the ones with drawings, Hello Kitty style but I like the "skin colored" ones too. A small part of skin, even only a finger with a small band aid is like a trophy for me, a little story to tell or "a reason for loving more someone".

2. I make "food jewelry" and I'm obsessed with fake food - almost junk  unhealthy yummy fake food. So colored, beautiful! By the way I don't really eat things like these; I'm a little scared about artificial colors and I eat healthy food and a lot of fruits and vegetables. I like to cook and only here and there I eat some chocolates or a homemade dessert.

3. I recently re-started to draw. I studied art, but I stopped to draw for awhile. In the very last months I met an old friend, I visited an old city (a journey on memory lane) and I cut off someone from my life. I can say  now I am ready for something new. Well,  I re-started to draw at least...

4. I think a lot of people feel uncomfortable with their feet. Not me. I like my feet, I have extra care of them and I regularly use black or red black nail polish. They have to be impeccable!

5. My blood type is AB.

6. I grew up in an ancient, dark, decadent, beautiful, huge house. It was my castle. As a child I was never scared of darkness or ghosts (almost everyone asked me if there were a ghost in the house even if it not looked so "dark"!!!). Only once it happened something curious. I was around 20 and alone at home, I was sleeping (it was 7 in the morning or so) and suddenly all the electric bells in the house started to ring. I thought first thing at that line in Dickens' A Christmas Carol...then I standed up, picking all my courage and a clothes-hook (really...!) from the wardrobe and I started searching around the house. It probably was an electrical trouble, by the way I was a little bit scared (don't know exactly why or scared of what, but I was...!) and I was not able to stop the doorbell. I finally broke it with the clothes-hook. Only then I phoned to an electrician...

7. Ralph Fiennes is the most good looking and attractive male celebrity for me. Maybe I should meet him on a plane

Well, it's simply me...

Current mood:  optimistic

Hey my friends! As today is my birthday (thanks to all of you for all the lovely birthday wishes !) I made a cake and I thought I could let you know the recipe, as a little birthday present form me to you :-)

I thought to post some italian recipes too, sometimes: would you like this???

So...c'mon let's bake my Birthday Cake!

CHOCOLATE AND SPICES ANNA'S CAKE.

Ingredients:

(I've tried to make conversions from italian system to Uk/Usa system. Hope I did it right!!!)

-350 gr. (11 oz; 2 3/4 cup) all-purpose flour.

-100 gr. (3 1/2 oz;  6 1/2 tbsp) butter.

-125 gr. (4 oz; 1 cup) demerara sugar.

-2 eggs.

-300 ml (3 dl; 9.6 fl oz; 1 !/2 cup) + 1 tbsp of milk.

-80 gr. (2 3/4 oz; 5 3/4 tbsp) dark chocolate.

-1 teaspoon cinnamon.

-1 teaspoon ginger.

-1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.

-0,5 gr. (a pinch) of vanillina.

- 4 drops of lemon juice.

Preheat the oven to 180 C degrees (350 F degrees). Ligthly grease a 24 cm square (9 inch) baking pan.

In a large bowl, cream the butter (cut it in little pieces before) and the demerara sugar until thick.

Add ginger, cinnamon, vanillina, baking soda and the eggs (one at a time).

Melt the chocolate with 1 tbsp of milk on the kitchen stove; let cool in  a little and then blend it in the ingredients.

Put the lemon juice drops in the milk and pour it gradually in the mixture, alternating with flour.

Combine perfectly until you have an homogeneous mixture.

Spread it evenly in the prepared baking pan and bake it for 30 to 35 minutes (WHILE THIS YOU CAN CLEAN UP YOUR MESSY KITCHEN, GOOD GIRL!!!), until a toohpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool in the pan on  wire rack for a while.

You can serve the cake with whipped cream (YUMMY!!!)

So...Enjoy   my dears!!! And please let me know if you like it!!!!
