We are after some talented musicians (30-40 ish) male or female for a dedicated hard working indie/folk band following the departure of 2 band members. Unfortunatly Martin and Sarah have decided that now is the right time for them to step down.  We are very sorry to see them go after 3 years playing with the band and we will miss them both emensley.  They are HUGE shoes to fill as they are both incredibly tallented musicians and great people to be in a band with.  We wish the pair of them every ounce of luck in all they do in the future.  We've made a couple of great friends and it won't be the same without you.

But......JG lives on and Em, Chris, Moxy and Seb have decided to carry on and recruit for some musicians.  So.........what are we looking for!  Erm, Sarah and Mart in a nutshell!!  Obviosuly we realise that we're not going to get a like for like replacement so if you think you fancy it keep reading and get in touch if you still think its right for you by the end!

We've been described as "Giving the folk format a bit of a shakedown" and "a unique mix of Radiohead meets Fairport Convention". The band have been playing together in various forms for over 3 years and have a lot of original material written. We are also looking to work on a set of covers to improve our "pubappeal " but at the same time we do not want to become an out and out covers band as our own music goes down very well - just need a foot in with the covers.

Ideally we are looking for people that play a variety of instruments ranging from Keyboard/Synth, Acoustic or Electric Guitar (melodic finger-style etc - no guitar hero's please!), Mandolin, Uke, Banjo, backing vocals and anything interesting that will add to the band. We have a singer guitarist (rhythm), bass player, drummer and violinist. We are all easy going and enjoy having a laugh as well as getting down to working hard on the music. We gig regularly around the North West so transport is essential as well ascommitment to play live at least twice a month and a love for all things musical. The band practise in Liverpool once a week and own a professional quality PA suitable for practise and gigs. We have an album on release at the moment and are looking to head back into the studio once we find the right people to move the band forward to capture the new sound.

Still reading - then you must be interested?! We would like people of a similar age, similar outlook and with experience of live performance and studio recording. Don't worry if you can't play everything we've listed - we are looking for more than one person! If you think you fit the bill then send us a message on here or an e-mail to jessicasghost@hotmail.co.uk and let us know what you play and what sort of experience you have. If we think you fit the bill then we can send you a couple of MP3s from our album and we would want to hear/see some stuff from you showing us what you do! We look forward to meeting the right people!

Cheers

Sundy 7th June

11am
Breakfast is slightly later today after last nights partying!!  Em is in need of a lie in and can't face food!  The lads are a little delicate but decide to go for a feed!  No-one can manage quite as much as yesterday!  Good job Em stayed in bed as a big bown of scrambled eggs turns up instread of Sausages this morning!

12pm
Off to do some sight seeing and general tourist type stuff.  Pleased to say Em has now surfaced and is fighting fit (well almost!!).  We head off to a town that means "Green Mountains" in English - can't remember the Polish sorry!!  Will find out!

1pm
Arrive in the "Green Mountains" town and have a wonder round.  They have a festival on too only it apears to be more of a science fair.  There are stands with engines and the cameras quantity survayors use!  Quite odd!!  The lads are made up to find the stage area has scampily clad ladies with feathers dancing to samba music!  We find a stand for the local radion station and give them a copy of our album to play!  Never miss a trick us!!  lol  Loads of ice cream stalls - ice creams all round :)

3pm
Time for food once more!  Can't go for too long without eating this band!!  Off to a local eatery for a really nice dinner again!  No-ones really in the mood for a beer so for once its soft drinks all round!

4pm
We head back to Gubin for a final look round and a look at whos on stage.

5pm
A last look around Gubin before loading up all of our stuff and heading for Berlin.  Seb wants to hang around and watch the bands some more but we decide to head off and leave time for a coffee in the airport.

8pm
Arrive in Berlin airport and return the hire car.  Apparently there is a "scuff" that wasn't there before on the wing mirror.  A huge sigh of relief all round when the hire company decide its too small to worry about!  Visions of a £950 excess after being so careful with the bus all weekend!!

8:30pm
We get into the airport to find we have 10 minutes left to check in!  EEK!!  Moxy and Em rush off to get the guitars weighed in and taken to oversized baggage.  Theres a problem with the labels on the instruments and after what seems like a lifetime when you're in a rush they finally go off down the conveyor.  Off to go through customs and theres a couple being told their boarding has closed!  More hold ups as they argue with the guards!  Your not going to win - just get out the way!!  Now in a real rush with less than 5 mins to get to the gate which is the futhest one away!!  And Seb wanted to watch the bands back in Gubin!!!  We must look mad legging it through the airport!  Get to borading with seconds to spare!  Just enough time to catch our breath before we're on the plane.  That was far too close for comfort!

9:15pm
Take off and we're on our way home!  A little weary but still can't sleep those Ryanair seats are so uncofnrotable!!

10:30pm
Feel like we've traveld back in time!  Back in GMT now!!  lol  Land back in the UK - guitars back in one piece again - impressed!!  All thats left now is to get back to Liverpool and sleep off the weekend!  Its been fun!

Saturday 6th June

10am
Up and about for breakfast!  Quite a feast waiting for us!  The lads do their best to polish it off but they are defeated!  Good effort though!

11am
Some time for sight seeing around Gubin.  We take a look around the Culture Centre and the bombed out cathedral making sure we book in for lunch at "the best restraunt in Gubin" before Seb heads off to pick up drum stuff.  The rest of us get our stuff to the practice room and go for a beer!

1pm
Lunch time!  "the best restraunt in Gubin" is very good indeed!  We all have a good feed as we're not going to get anything else till late!  Water only from now till we've played!!

2:30pm
Practice in the culture centre recording studio.  A quick run through the set to let Mart and Seb get used to their borrowed insturments!  Sounding good and confidence levels are high.  Someone comes in and tells us we can start getting redy for soundcheck!  How exciting!!

3:30pm
All our stuff is taken down to the stage for us.  Could get used to this!!  The stage is massive when we get down there!  Room to move - oh what luxury.  Makes a change to not be taking someones eye out when we try to move about.  The sound guys are great both on the monitors and out front.  Nothing is too much bother and we get well and truly settled in.

4:30pm
Time for a quick change and to stock up on water before we head to the backstage area to prepare for the gig.  Itching to get on!  Crowds are forming in the square although its threatening to rain soon,  Hope it holds off!

5pm
No luck with the weather - its peeing down!!  Still doesn't seem to put anyone off, they just put up their brollies!

6pm
Quick line check and we're away!  This has to be the best we have ever played and even if we do say so we put on one hell of a show while we were doing it!  Em manages "Hello Gubin" in Polish but doesn't risk any more than that!!

7pm
What a buzz that was!  We get our stuff off stage and there is a queue of people waiting for CDs!  We get our sales heads on and do the rounds before getting the instruments back to the hotel room and getting changed after a soalking walking round!

8pm
We're dragged (honest!) to the pub for an interview with Polish press.  A couple of jugs of Vodka and apple juice are ordered and divided up between the band and the journalists!  Cheers all!  Heres to a good nigh!

10pm
A bit hungry again now!  We order some Polish sausages and bread.  Very good it is too!  More vodka and apple juice - its flowing quite freely now!!

11pm
Some locals invite us to play darts with them on some strange arcade like machine.  Christoph - a Polish guy whos been sitting with us for a while serenades us with the theme from the Titanic.  Randomly we give our CD to the bar owners and they put it on!  We sing along whilst playind darts badly - nothig to do with the alcohol!!

1am
Back to the hotel for beers!  Ohh - they are still doing food!  Beer munchies take over and we order some Pizzas!  Em and Chris have had enough and call it a day!  The rest of the beer monsters consider going out for more drink but in the end finish off the Pizza and beer in the hotel and go to bed.  End of a fantastic day!

Friday 5th June.

3pm
On the Wirral to be met by the tour bus.  Everyone present bar Chris - he's being collected en route.  Load up and away we go.  Moxys driving so he's in charge of the tunes!  Its an exclectic mix to say the least!  Em brings loads of sweets for the journey to East Midlands airport.  Traffic is a nightmare.  Hoping it clears soon!

4pm
Its taken a little longer than expected but we're in Lymm and we've got a Christoph and his violin which is shoved in a bag with Mart's mandolin to make Mr Extra Seat!  They are too big for hand luggage :(

6pm
Arrive at East midlands airport and park up the van.  Rush to the terminal to find the plane is delayed by 30 mins.  Please as it gives us time to eat!  Seb has been telling us he's hungry since 3pm!!  Guitars go off to oversized luggage and we hope we'll see them in Poland!  Please be careful with them Ryanair!

7pm
All feeling much better after burgers, pizza, natchos and coke (cola beford anyone says anything!!) Boarding opens!!  All through all the checks fine and onto the plane!  Berlin here we come!

11pm
Touchdown in Berlin airport.  A fairly smooth flight all in.  Pleased to be given our guitars back in one piece.  Hardly a scuff on the case - now that is a first!!  Now if only we could find the car rental place.........ah Moxy and Seb manage to locate it and we're off to find tour bus number two!  A sparkly new VW mini bus with blacked out windows and very comfy seats (especially after being sat on a less than comfy Ryan air seat for 2 hours!).  Its all very pimp my ride.  Everything seems to be going too well so far!

11:30pm
Realise we've been driving the wrong way down the autobahn for 30 mins!  Quick about turn and we're headding for Guben/Gubin dependant on which side of the Germany/Poland border you are on!

1:30am
We're in Gubin (Poland) and at our hotel!  It looks a little dodgy but its free.  Everything out the van then off to find secure parking for the tour bus.  Now - is anywhere still selling beer??  Thers a DJ still playing on the small stage at the festival but no sign of us getting a pint.  Back to the hotel and happy to report the guy on reception can get us some beers!  12 bottles of beer up to the boys room and some happy ghosties - its been a long day!!

3am
12 hours after we set off from the UK and its bed time!  Knackered after a massive journey.  Thanks to Seb and Moxy for doing all the driving.  Can't wait for tomorrow!!
