First off thanks to Amanda Palmer for having us support her in Edinburgh. It was brilliant :) Her and Neil Gaiman are such good people. We like them. That is all :)

Next things...

We're packing and frantically arranging scores for horn sections and string sections and so on before we leave for BERLIN and ALBUM NUMBER TWO!!! I still need a child choir, a regular choir, and some extras. If you want to get involved, or think you have something to offer, we can't pay much, but i guarantee it'll be fun. TWEET me

It's been a long time coming, and I know some of you have been wondering why the hell it has been so. Mostly it's label stuff i don't wanna talk about, but we're free now, and can do whatever the hell we like :)

So... We did. It's written, it's been cried over, screamed over, and will be some more in the next month when we record it. It is possibly darker than our first album, if that is possible ;)

While we're there we'll be doing things like filming and one off gigs as well, which you're much more likely, as i've said aplenty, to hear about if you follow us (me, obviously ) on TWITTER. Seriously, I can't update the blog all the time, as i just won't get a chance, so it's much easier to tweet :)

FIRST GIG IN BERLIN IS AT THE BANG BANG CLUB ON SATURDAY! COME? COME!!
We're on around 11, it's an acoustic show, though possibly with friends, and then a clubnight after. I think it's tickets on the door. The last acoustic show was EXCELLENT. So, even though it's me, I'd recommend it :)

If anyone else wants us for any other shows/ cafes/ parties while we're there, anything like that, do ask. We're about.

Bedtime.

EDINBURGH: AMANDA PALMER/ INDELICATES: JOB: THE MUSICAL!

EDINBURGH!!

SATURDAY: AMANDA PALMER Show AND ...
SUNDAY: The Book Of Job: The Musical! ONE OFF - EDINBURGH FRINGE

This weekend we drive to Edinburgh to support Amanda Palmer at The HMV Picturehouse, SATURDAY 22nd, which promises to be amazing. Expect the unexpected! Merchandise! Books! Julia, attempting to wear a nice dress! Ostentatious guitar solos! Snarling! And our last Indelicates show before we head of to Berlin to record Album Number Two.

Tickets!

THEN.... ON SUNDAY 23rd... COME!!!! IT'S ONLY FIVE POUNDS. At midnight...

Rock 'n' Roll! Death! Theology!

All are present and correct in this rollicking blend of showtunes, Thomas Aquinas, and the kind of experience you'd expect from a west end show about a biblical character whose name begins with a 'J'. The Book of Job: The Musical!  is a comic tour de force that has Sold Out houses at The Cheltenham Literature Festival, Brighton’s Komedia, Trinity College Cambridge, Brighton Festival Fringe, London's Barons Court Theatre and venues across the country, garnering standing ovations and acclaim wherever it is seen. The Musical is to take it's first trip to the Edinburgh Fringe for a one-off, not to be missed show at the GRV on SUNDAY the 23rd August as part of the Five Pound Fringe.

The musical re-tells the biblical story of Job – that of a righteous and godly man royally screwed over by God for no particular reason – in an inspired blend of Andrew Lloyd Webber-style showtunes, dense liturgical theology and knockabout pythonesque comedy.

Writer Simon Indelicate is a singer and guitarist with cult indie band The Indelicates whose debut album ‘American Demo’ was released to acclaim last year, and who will be supporting Dresden Dolls frontwoman Amanda Palmer at the HMV Picturehouse on the saturday . The show also stars band-mate Julia Indelicate and My Name Is Red singer Chris Hodges. With the rest of the cast, they conjure a multi-million pound west end spectacle using little more than a guitar, some stage directions and the audience’s willing imagination.

Will Job curse God to his face? Will dashing angel with a dark side Satan win his bet? Does God really, as Karl Jung states in his Answer to Job (routledge, 1952, p.10) “Not care a button for any moral opinion nor recognise any form of ethics as binding”?

Find out!! Only in: The Book Of Job: The Musical!

Anyone with a passing interest in The Indelicates will know that frontpeople and songwriters Simon and Julia have a long and tuberculotic history as jobbing poets. This book collects together some of the poetry that they are happiest with - as well as an extensive record of the lyrics they’ve written for the band, some as yet unreleased - in a gorgeous 7” record shaped volume that will look at home on your bookshelf, on your record shelf, or even propped up precociously behind your toilet cistern to impress people.

Including Simon’s long poem ‘The Principle of Quicksilver…’ and Julia’s modernist epic ‘Bacchus and Ariadne’ as well as extensive footnotes to the lyric section that detail inspirations, answer questions and dispense insults – we are proud to announce “Words by…” as the latest addition to our range of Indelicates brand lifestyle enhancement products.

The Launch features some of The Indelicates' favourite people, as well as Readings from Both Simon and Julia Indelicate:

THE REVEREND - Righteous poet, Grand Slam entrant, has King Arthur's sword in his House, and Plays GOD in The Book Of Job: The Musical!

B23 - convicted word murderer seeks endless not for relationship, must have teeth.

LILY RAE - Blondie-esque catchiness and a lyrical audacity that sticks her firmly in the category where Lily Allen isn’t. She’s tiny and she drips with attitude and she plays shows in shit pubs as though they were arenas.

KEITH TOTP And His Minor UK Indie Celebrity All-Star Backing Band - Songs about girls and bands being rubbish, featuring at different times, Simon Indelicate, Julia Indelicate, Sue Robots in Disguise, Eddie Argos, Arec, Caroline, David Devant, Carter USM, and others. Is loud and cathartic.

KEVIN REINHARDT - finally after three and a half years of trying manages to get booked by his own night.

WESTLEY INGRAM - Clearly his spots at Bingo Master..s breakout and cELEBRITY eUTHANASIA weren..t enough so now he gets a feature.

Very limited open mic, probably no more than 4 so even more reason to be early.

Books will be available to buy on the night, as well as in the Indelicates shop:
