It is with great distress that I must tell you this.

"This is Dramacore" will not be released this year.

It is as big of a disappointment to me as it is to all of you, but it is tied to reasons I don't have control over. So far the album is 90% mixed but the mastering will probably not happen in this years number. The artwork for the album is somewhere along 60 - 75% of being complete. The whole new Evestus.net is in the making and will be launched 01.01.10 . It will gather all Evestus and TNS related networks together into one to make it easier for all of us to stay connected and informed at all times! With the album coming out there are developments in Evestus live set-up aswell and I'm aiming to take Evestus back on stage and bigger than ever by February.

At this point everything is really close to being in the box, but I will not shout out a release date just yet. I just want to make sure that when the time comes, I can give you a date that you can count on. In February 2010 it will officially be exactly four years since the birth of the idea that led to Dramacore. Will it be the birth of "Dramacore"....

Hey there!

Since you've all been waiting for the new album ever so patiently for years now and I keep pushing the release forward and forward... I thought I'd cheer you guys up by giving you another new track, sort of like a third single, that you can catch along with a very decent magazine that you should be buying monthly anyway.

So here's the deal - This octobers issue of Terrorizer magazine features a brand new Evestus track that none of you have heard before! And you now have a chance of owning it on a cd! As an original! No crappy mp3stream or whatever - the real deal!

You can get your copy of Terrorizer at any decent bookstore anywhere on the planet! And if you don't have a decent bookstore near - order your copy online - www.terrorizer.com

For collectors - Evestus has been featured on Uk-s Devolution Magazine (issues 18,19,20 and 21) - you can order these at www.devolutionmagazine.co.uk/store

..
Find more photos like this on The New Scum

Hey, trust me - indie magazines like Devolution get really valuable among collectors, so if you take good care of the mag, you can even sell it for a decent profit in the future!

Evestus
You're Not Good Enough to be My Enemy

Posted: Monday, June 22, 2009
By: Claire Morrison

The only real complaint about this EP is that it is too short!

Evestus' catchphrase is "Every day alive, you suffer... and then you die? You've got to be fucking kidding me!" The eclectic Estonian sneaks this message through the majority of his songs. The lyrics and musical composition constantly contrast with each other, with one delving within darker tones and meaning - wisdom and the suffering of knowledge and aging, while the other parts of his songs are very light and peppy, diving into the innocence of childhood. The only real complaint about this EP is that it is too short!

The title song sounds much more like a demo than a complete track. While the quality is great, it doesn't seem finished, and at the same time, this raw quality makes "You're Not Good Enough to be My Enemy" even more special. Evestus' passion clearly rings throughout the track. It's a warrior tune, full of hate and passion, beauty and darkness swirling in a fighting rage. It's a great pump-up track. "Disko" is one of this writer's favorite songs of all time to date. It incorporates Eastern European instrumental trills that are reminiscent of Rom (gypsy) culture, along with the feeling of floating on a merry-go-round. It's light-hearted and ethereal, while the lyrics attack thoughts of wonder but is still grounding in its pursuit and exploration of death. It could almost be a sequel to "Everybody Dies" from Evestus' Sacrifice single.

Evestus' philosophy is thoroughly expressed in "Perfect." It's the weakest song on the EP, but also the boldest as it has a different sound than any of his other work. It's a saddened ballad, to an extent, incorporating emotions of the seasons with the pondering of aging and the transition after life ending, similar to watching trees lose their leaves and fade away into the cold and isolated winter.

Evestus is a sage, a deep thinker who appears to be in constant battle with his inner beliefs and with those that society upholds. His questioning and philosophical views make his music all the more appreciable and eccentric. While there should be more musicians like him, if there were, Evestus would lose his originality. He is a truly unique creature.

Evestus had a run-in with the Norwegian Industrial fiend Mortiis in Tallinn a few months ago.

Here's a part of the interview, where Mortiis talks about his new album and the current state of his band.

No, I'm not turning into a journalist for MTV - I only interview artists that really appeal to me!

At this point, 10 tracks are fully recorded, cleaned, double-checked and on their way to mixing. 2 tracks still need some tweaking and two are under consideration, because the album is pretty lengthy as it is already.. Will start work on the album cover next month.

I'm now aiming the release at september/october... but I guess I've said that before, havent I...

Goddamn this has been a looong fucking time! At times I feel like I'm beginning to understand why it took nine years for Axl Rose to release the latest GunsN'Roses album. If you've been listening to these songs over and over for three years.. fixing this and that.. recording cellos, guitars, drums, vocals.. then re-recording them.. and re-fucking-recording them cuz they STILL don't sound right.. at some point you don't even know what's right anymore.. the lines get so blurred.. the whole album is this one big fucking shipwreck and you're running from one end to the other, fixing this and that and mixing and matching.. and once something looks just right you take a step back and realize that it STILL DOESN'T FIT into the big picture... Well.. The picture is getting clearer. All the pieces are on the table and the links are solid. It's a fucking dark record. It's going to give you a hard on and make you cry at the same time. It has changed me. And It's going to change you too.

"Well, well, well...
I look around and I see a lot of new faces!
That means a lot of you have been breaking the first two rules.. "

But really...
That is very touching and all, but it keeps getting harder and harder for me to keep up with all of you! I've recently even started denying band requests, because the numbers are getting way too big for me to handle. Listen, if you feel like I've forsaken you - just write me or send me a comment.. you know.. let me know you're still there! Because my music is my life, and the work AROUND the music has become a full time job. So, I AM online a lot, but it is really difficult to keep up with 10 000 friends... you know.. But I love to get your letters and comments and... well.. somebody sent me a pack of coffee.. I appreciate that as well!
90% of the time I WILL get back to you! Sometimes I just have so much going on with magazines and radio stations and whatnot that I miss a few.. but eventually I even get around to those! So.. tell me what's on your mind!

On to music!

2009 started off with a live gig at a NOKIA Music Gala in Tallinn... it sounds bigger than it was, but I made no discounts on Evestus's performance and I'm glad to witness that everybody enjoyed the show! That was a great way to wipe the holiday depression off and start focusing on what's important. The ALBUM!
Yes... the one and only "Dramacore" album. I am proud to announce that by february I will have half of the material (around 6-7 songs) mixed! So hopefully by the end of february I can start predicting an actual release date! All this has a lot to do with an Evestus show on feb. 7th at Club TAPPER in Tallinn. This is going to be the biggest show yet and I intend to get it all taped properly! Because unfortunately, due to geographical restrictions, most of you won't be able to make it there. With this in mind... an idea of an official Evestus DVD has sprung up. It's just a thought... but if you want it - you'll get it!

On a sidenote, I'm also proud to mention that the "ENEMY" video is still on Baltic MTV Top 20 (currently on #6) - thank you all who've been voting! It really shows that you want what I got, and I got plenty more where that came from!

Also, I'd like to mention that Yours truly is featured on the current issue of DEVOLUTION MAGAZINE - on the covermount CD you can find an unreleased special version of "You're not good enough to be my ENEMY" not to mention that the magazine itself has a fully colored EVESTUS back cover! And while you're ordering your copy, you might want to pre-order the next one as well for yours truly will be there discussing over the seven sins... hmm..

Alright then! That is pretty much all I'm willing to share at the moment. You got any questions - shoot. No blanks please...

Stay Alternative!
Fuck the trees - save a ROCK!

So, here's the short and curlies.

The new video is out. Check it out on my profile or go to www.youtube.com/evestus

The deal with the new single is that this year a limited edition of radio promo disks will be pressed for radio stations exclusively. Another limited version of the single will be released in January that can be purchased through me or at Evestus live gigs. The single will include two bonus tracks that are also exclusive to the single and will not be featured on "This Is Dramacore". Oh hell, here I've gone and mentioned that name again. Well, whatever you may think, this album IS on my top priority and I will release that album or die trying!

Right now though, you can vote the "sacrifice" video for MTV Baltic top 100 of the year 2008 - follow this link, cast your vote for nr. 74 and press an ugly pink button that sais "SAADA".

The new video is also ruining the Baltic MTV playlist with it's present at the moment and will enter the Baltic Top 20 and MTV Rock Chart next week.

For those interested, here are the lyrics of the new song.

"You're Not Good Enough To Be My Enemy"

....................

This world keeps leeching me

I can't sleep and

I can't breathe

I can't believe

how much you've violated me

I let you in and you've been

eating up all that I used to feel

and all I'm left with are your

shit and bitemarks

that will never heal

I want to SCREAM you out of me

BLEED you out of me

tell me what you got from me?

was it worth your fucking trouble?

do you feel content and fucking HAPPY

after everything you've done

give me atleast some closure

TELL ME THAT I TASTED GOOD

I want to SCREAM you out of me

BLEED you out of me

take your shit and fucking leave!

you're not worth my fucking trouble!

All the time I've wasted on excuses

dressing up to make you proud

I'm not a part of you

you're a part of me

And I don't need to prove a thing!

I'm sick of wasting time and all my energy on

keeping you alive while you keep killing me!

I'm sick of wasting time and all my energy

'cause you're not good enough to be my enemy.

I’d love to come and play with you

But you’re not worth the scars

If you weren’t so predictable

I think that I could never get this far
