Well Happy New Year to everybody out there.  I trust you all had a great Christmas and are now feeling the pinch like the rest of us. !!!

Once again like last year I’d like to say a big thanks to everyone involved in Aladdin at The Regent Theatre in Ipswich. It’s always a pleasure when you get a cast & crew that get along well. It was also lovely to work with a few people who worked with us In Croydon in the panto Dick Whittington.

Last year I said that we would be recording a new CD but because the diary was that full we actually never got time to do it. This year one of our main priority’s is to do that CD & record a live DVD. I’ll keep you posted on that.

It’s been a lovely January because we’ve managed to spend some time at home with our families as well as keep working locally but now the cruises & abroad work is starting to come in so once again we’ll soon be packing our suitcases. We’re lucky to playing in Benidorm four times this year. We actually love it there because we’ve got loads of mates out there who are in the business and it’s always great to catch up…

Once again thanks for the support & we hope to see you at one of our gigs.. Cheers x

On Wednesday night we were asked to perform at The Agents Association - Night With The Stars at The Village Venue in Wigan. These kind of gigs always leave you feeling a little anxious as not only are you performing in front of your peers but also in front of the people who book you & can stop you getting booked !!!!!!!! There were loads of good acts on the bill including David Kidd, Boogie Shoes, Martin Gregory Lambert,Martin Gold, Sheila Gott, Carly Ryan, Martin Gallagher, Loaded, Elicia, Wayne Allen, Stephanie & One Stop Boogie.. Well we arrived and were ushered into a backstage area where all the other acts waited to go on. We didn't even see the stage until we were on and just as we were about to run on someone told us that the Stage Newspaper was in to review the night !!!!!!!

There was a beneficiary this night and it was for Steve Dee (Part of the very popular Duo Boy 2 One) Steve is currently battling Cancer and we really wish him & his family all the best in his recovery.. We have never worked with Boy 2 One but being on the circuit we know they were one of the best..

A big thanks for the night must go to Mark Ritchie from the Stage Newspaper. If you read this Mark, thanks for a great review. Here's part of the review from the other night

The Harper Brothers are a comedy duo who present an amalgam of mainstream variety styles and slightly more modern comedy. The act is fast-moving, infectiously funny and surely deserving of some television exposure. There is nothing in the UK comedy market quite like them and it really would be nice to see an act like this landing that elusive big break in the TV market.

Good night all round then... For the full review go to http://www.thestage.co.uk/reviews/review.php/20437/agents-association-night-with-the-stars

Well it’s time for the travelling to start for us again this year. We’re off to Benidorm on the 16th March for 4 days.. We then come home to gig for 3 days & then back over we go again for 5 days. We’re booked to play at a place called Rachael’s and it’s slap bang in the middle of Benidorm.. I know there are a few people already coming out there but if you read this & are going out there then pop in and see us. 2008 is looking like a mad busy year for us already.. We’ve got our Thomson Gold & cruises in as well as our Summer season for Pontins. We’ve got a massive massive gig coming up in July but i’ll tell you about that nearer the time as these things have a nasty habit of sneaking up and biting you on the ass !!!! It’s also going to be privilage to support the one & only Mr Joe Longthorne again this year.. He is such a talent and he’s always made us feel welcome when we’ve worked with him before.

In the next couple of months we’re recording a new CD & really soon we are working on our first DVD. I’ll let you know when they’re finished. Also if you want a gig guide just let us know through myspace & we’ll get one to you right away.. Right, better get the aftersun packed :)

Well what a good time we had down in Croydon with a great bunch of people from the Panto crew... It's always a little sad when it finishes as you do become a team & make some great friends, exept Mike (I hate him) Only Joking !!!!!!! But it's great to be back home again nursing my aches & pains.. There's only so many pratt falls you can do before they start to hurt. I was a little worried about heading down south to do a panto as there really is a North / South divide when it comes to comedy & humour..There was no need to worry as we got good reviews and got along with everybody we met.. I'd like to thank Adrian, Mike, Vicky & Wendy for really making us feel welcome & part of the team down there.. I'll miss you all but we see you all again...

So it's back to One nighters for us now. We've also got some cruises coming up & work abroad so there's plenty to keep us busy. Don't know where we'll be next for Panto but we're already looking forward to it... We'd just like to thank all those who came to watch us, especially the ones who travelled all the way down from the North...Once again thanks a lot x

There's an advert on the radio that say's if you do less that 5000 miles per year you can get cheap insurance... I think we've been doing that every week over the summer!!!!. We've had a great time this year especially on the Cruise Ships. We've been lucky to have worked with some really nice people.. The cruise director on the Celebration Lee Oliver really made us feel at home as did Rob with his stories about the glass collector called no knees!! A special mention goes to Tony & Nick. These two are the lads who run all the lights & sound on the Celebration. We had a great time with these two & they did a top job for us (Thanks Lads)

Talk about a loyal following.. Big mention to Rob,Andrea & Becky who not only came to see us virtually everywhere in the UK but even came on a Cruise... You lot must be mad. On a serious note, our hearts go out to you at this time over the loss of your Mum...

Well it's Croydon's Fairfield Hall Theatre for the Panto this year...We are Captain & Mate in Dick Whittington starring Lucy Benjamin.. Our rehersals kick off on November 26th and we open on December 6th. For further info go to http://www.fairfield.co.uk/
