As we all know, we can't escape the latest awful trend in popular culture....Social Networking Websites!! We can't complain though, if it weren't for MySpace and the rest, most of you wouldn't know who the hell we were anyway. How's that for damning praise? To that end, we've decided to hop on the next bandwagon and check out this twitter thing, so we need ALL of your help with this. First of all, we need to get as many people as we can "following" us....or whatever it's called. Problem is...we don't know how that happens. This is where we look to you, the denizens of the World Wide Web. We are just dumb musicians...please school us in your ways. Secondly, we're trying to score some free software so that Vega can give you guys updates via Twitter from his Windowsmobile Smartphone. In order to do that, we had to post this blog (which we were going to do anyway.....two birds, one stone type thang). Below is all the necessary info we need to put up here to get the free software, and also to help you guys follow us on Twitter. If we're missing anything, or doing anything wrong, lay it on us sooner rather than later. We want to get this ball rolling as soon as possible. Who knows, maybe this is the next step in Sacred Dawn taking over the world!!!! METAL!!!!!

Sacred Dawn has the good fortune to participate in the Warriors of Metal Festival in Chilicothe, Ohio this year on June 5th and 6th. The lineup is AMAZING this year, including bands like Seventh Calling, Ancient Creation, Zephaniah, Lunarium, Twisted Cover Dire and Aska...to name a few. This 2 day event is setting the bar high for the rest of the summer, and WOMFEST is easily shaping up to be one of the premier metal festivals in the Midwest. Check the Sacred Dawn profile page for more information, otherwise you can go to www.myspace.com/WOMFEST for all the details you'll need. Keep METAL ALIVE!!!!!

Sacred Dawn Studio Blog, Vol. 2 There's a rumor going around that Lo put up a blog about our experience in the Studio the other day...but I have to admit...I'm a bad band member and did not read it. Between being in the Studio all weekend, and trying to squeeze in a little 360 in between sessions......oh, and don't forget the drinking...I haven't been on the MySpace in a few days...so I'm writing this a little "blind". I apologize if I repeat or rehash anything that was already said. Actually, I don't apologize...I really don't care if I repeat myself, I was just trying to be polite...but you all know that I'm not....so suck it! Seriously, though, day 2 in the studio went extremely well. I want to publicly give a shout out to the newest member of SD, Eddie Foltz!!! Big ups to Ed, who has been working his ASS off on these tunes, in prep for this past weekend. He went in and totally nailed it!! I'm not going to say that everything was silky smooth (because there are always snags in the studio...as I'm coming to learn ), but Ed laid out all the drums tracks and they already sound awesome! Now, we just need to wait for Chuck to do his producer/engineer/studio genius thang and then.....it's MY TURN!! I'm really psyched to be cutting the tracks for this album because I think they're all going to be really great. I'm very happy with the direction the songwriting has been going and from a bass player's perspective, I get to play a lot meatier basslines than I did on GOTM. Don't get me wrong, I still love the tunes on Gears (I wouldn't have joined the band if I didn't), but it's a completely different entity. This new shit is a lot more my style, and we've been getting great reactions when we play it out live so hopefully the rest of you out there will agree with me. Anyway...enough of my babbling. We had a camera in the studio and we took a couple of candids, so we could give you guys a little behind-the-scenes taste. Hope you enjoy! In Metal Joey Vega

Sorry...had to get this one out of the way first. I KNOW it wasn't from the studio, but Lo sent it to me with the rest of the pics...and it's pretty cool. THE METRO BABY!!!!! Ok, sorry....back to our regularly schedule programming.

Eddie, beginning of day one...he's got no idea what he's in store for.....

Mike admiring Chuck's new Schecter!! We love Schecter..all of us...please give us an endorsement!!!

Lothar looking for his tool.....d'oh!

I got dressed up for the occasion!

The guy behind the guy, Chuck Macak.

This is where the magic happens....literally...I have no idea how any of this works...it must be magic!

Eddie tells us the "Hammer Story"...hit Ed up on his profile if you want to hear it.

Electrowerks Recording Studio (a.k.a. That Green Studio)

Mike, working out parts.

Chuck imparting a little wisdom on Eddie.

Eddie rocked so hard, his shirt fell off...we had to ease him back, for fear of what might happen to his pants!

Cutting scratch guitar.

How does this thing work anyway?

Wells folks March friday the 13th was the 1st official day of Sacred Dawns recording process for their 2nd album. We are very excited about this album. There is alot of passion going into the music for this record and the best part is that everybody has had a great part to contribute musically and bring the multiple influences and experience to the table. The music is more intense without loosing the Sacred Dawn sound. Saturday we got to start recording Eds drum tracks after spending friday night gettting setup. We got about 7 songs done by the end of the day. 11 hours. Not too bad. We have about 4 more tunes with Ed which we plan to knock out by sunday night. Then we start recording guitars and bass after we get back from Texas. We will keep you up to date with some photos as well.
Lothar

The following is a statement from the coordinator of the Indianapolis Metal Fest: Saturday, September 27, 2008 ..tr>| | SATURDAY SHOW CANCELLED! Due to issues entirely beyond our control, the Saturday show at 5100 W. 38th Street, Indianapolis has been cancelled. More details will be available on our website soon.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Make-up dates are being considered, and we are certain to file legal action against the parties responsible for this situation.
Thanks to all who came out to the show on Friday night -- it was a GREAT crowd and the bands were amazing. Though we were unable to give you the show we wanted to give you due to problems and code violations within the venue, I think we all pulled together as best we could and made the Friday night show one hell of a good show.
Special thanks to Morgan and Mercedes Lander from Kittie for being so exceptionally cool. Extra special thanks to Dino Cazares for invaluable advice and support during the show.
A major announcement and statement will be made concerning this issue in a day or so.
