Adding Favre will not improve the team as much as some people think. Sage Rosenfels is a very good QB and would have won as many games for us Brett will. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy he signed but he's not "The Answer" we've been looking for the past 10 years. Anyway, let's get to the schedule.
01) @ Cleveland. Cleveland looks horrible. They will be lucky to win 4 games this year and this isn't going to be one of them. Vikings 1-0
02) @ Detroit. Detroit is going to be a much improved team this year and could win 5 or 6 games. Not this week though. Vikings 2-0
03) San Francisco. SF will be a decent team but they won't win this game. Vikings 3-0
04) Green Bay. This Monday night game is going to be huge. Hopefully Favre will be on fire and we'll get this win. GB looks really good though. Vikings 4-0
05) @ St. Louis. Oh Boy. The Rams look like crap again. Easy win. Vikings 5-0
06) Baltimore. This game will be a defensive struggle for sure. This game is a tossup but I'm going with the Vikes at home. Vikings 6-0
07) @ Pittsburgh. They have a shot here but the Steelers are so tough. Vikings 6-1
08) @ Green Bay. The Packers get their revenge at home. Favre throws 3 INTs. Vikings 6-2
09) Bye
10) Detroit. Another beatdown on the Lions. Vikings 7-2
11) Seattle. The Seahawks will be better than last year but not good enough here. Vikings 8-2
12) Chicago. The Bears have a good QB but no WRs. Forte can't do it all. Vikings 9-2
13) @ Arizona. This is an interesting game. The Cards "should" be a good team again but then again, this is the Arizona Cardinals!! Still, we'll take loss. Vikings 9-3
14) Cincinnati. I fully expect the Bengals to be really good this year. Palmer being healthy is going to make them dangerous. We could lose this one but hopefuly we won't. Vikings 10-3
15) @ Carolina. The Panthers are a threat to win it all this year. We'll keep it close but eventually lose. Vikings 10-4
16) @ Chicago. This Monday nighter will be a war. Cutler should be in synch with his team and will lead them to victory. Vikings 10-5
17) New Yok Giants. The Giants are going to collapse this year. We will end the regular season on a positive note. Vikings 11-5
We should win the NFC North and make the playoffs.

Yep, we had another blowup with our druggie neighbors again tonight. As I was pulling into the driveway, we noticed my brother and his wife quickly walking towards the druggies. We stopped long enough for them to tell us that our other druggie neighbor...not the druggie neighbor from my previous post, this is a different druggie neighbor. Both druggie neighbors are buddies that sell drugs together...let her big dog loose long enough for it to jump on my brother's porch and grab their little cat. They went looking for it but couldn't find the dog or cat. Come to find out, druggie #2 realized what had happened so she quickly tied the dog up. Rachel ended up finding the cat on a creek bank and it had been killed.
My brother lets off a round or two from his .380 which brings druggie neighbor #2 over to druggie neighbor #1's house. At this point, all four of us walk to the edge of the property line and all hell breaks loose. Druggie #1, you remember her....the 450 lb greeseball that keeps head lice starts acting all tough again but this times doesn't bother waddling down her steps. Instead she just talks smack from her porch. Druggie #2 is a 43 year old burnout that weighs about 80 lbs and has no teeth. She was wasted tonight as she could hardly keep her balance. I assume she was trying to talk trash but with the combination of her being fried out of her head and no teeth, it sounded more like "WHAABUSOOOJUSS"
While walking away I joked about how druggie #1 always hides in her house with all the lights off whenever she sees a police car drive by. She did it Friday night when the police were called and her house looked abandoned it was so dark. She screamed that she doesn't hide. We called the police and when they showed up, her place was as dark as a dungeon. Ha! The cop went over there and her son (the poor little fella probably got in trouble later for it) opened the door for him. He came out and told us that she will be getting a chain for her dog. I hope he had a bottle of hand sanitizer in his car for when he left that lice infected dump.
He also gave us some good news. He said that they are going to start patrolling our street! He also said to give them a call everytime we see a drug deal go down over there. I guess I need to go add the state police number to speed dial as it will be used a lot.

What an interesting night we had. One of our druggie neighbors tried to pick a fight with Rachel tonight. This stems from our druggie neighbors and their 75 loose dogs that run all over the place. They're always running through our yard chasing other animals and cars. Just once I'd like to see that stupid dog actually catch my car! I'd get more enjoyment over squishing that dumb dog that winning $1000.
Anyway, the dumb dog was chasing one of Rachel's cats so she ran it off and chased it out of the yard. She then yelled for them to keep their stupid dogs out of our yard. This is when the druggie neighbor ran out onto the porch screaming and cussing. Rachel screamed back and then this morbidly obese druggie comes waddling off her porch acting like she was wanting to fight. Now, I'm fat and I readily admit it. Sadly I'm closing in on 300 but this gal is just another hotdog from sitting on 450. No doubt she was winded from the excessive walking down the steps. Rachel is little and has no interest in being sat on by Jabba the Hut so she walks back to the house and tells me what was going down. I call 911 and the state police show up about 45 minutes later. The 911 operator knew who we were calling about as the police have been over there many times before. This was however, the first time that we have called on her.
The cop was really cool and talked us through the steps we need to take to get rid of the dogs. He said if it steps off the pavement and into our driveway one more time that we can kill it with our .45 pistol. I also mentioned that I was getting tired of all the drug deals going on and he talked about that as well.
So, it looks like there are FOUR very local homes that are being watched right now. Apparently evidence is being gathered and then BOOM! Handcuffs for everyone. Personally, I can hardly wait. This used to be a somewhat decent neighborhood but when riffraff like this moved in, it didn't take long to go downhill.
Hopefully very soon a trouble maker or two will be gone and the rest of the neighborhood will be more peaceful.

I get so sick of John McCain and the Republican party spitting out these lies that all of our gas price woes would be solved if we would just let Exxon, Chevron, and the other big oil companies drill for more oil off of our coasts. At first glance, I guess it does sound pretty good. "Let's get our own oil and let the Arabs keep theirs!" So, what's the drawbacks? Glad you asked.
1) It will take many years, up to 15, for any of this oil to actually reach the market. They would have to test to see where oil may be. They would then have to build the wells. Then, after several years,.....yeee-haw! Oil!!!
2) After that celebration is over with, we find out that oil is traded on a global market. Awww damn. So, in 2023 (that is, if they started today) when oil is trading for around $250 a barrel, our newfound oil drops the cost to $249 a barrel. Gas prices drop from $10.09 a gallon to $10.07. Party on! Road trip, here we come.
3) We are being led to believe that these oil wells are going to lead to more oil being refined into gasoline and diesel fuel. This is IMPOSSIBLE. Way back in 2004, the refineries in the USA were operating at 98% capacity. They were pumping this stuff out as fast as they could 4 years ago. Considering the fact a new refinery hasn't been built since 1976, how are they suddenly going to produce more gas and diesel? They simply can't. They may get more shipments of oil but it can only pile up.
4) Now, this one is a doozy. I bet a lot of you will be surprised by this fact. While John McCain and all the Republicans are moaning about getting more oil and gas for us, the United States of America actually EXPORTS huge amounts of the stuff to other countries. Yep. Read that sentence again slowly so that it will sink in. While they are telling us that this new oil will be refined into gasoline (it can't) and sent to your local gas station for only $1.00 a gallon (yeah, right), they are actually sending fuel to other places in the world. In April of 2008, the United States EXPORTED 387,000 barrels of diesel fuel every single day. We also EXPORTED 202,000 barrels of gasoline every day.
5) I'll type what you're thinking right now: WTF??? So, even if we were to get oil tomorrow from the off-shore drills, get it refined to gasoline the next day, how will it help you? It's going to be sent to Canada, Mexico, Europe, etc. Who really benefits from all this nonsense?
6) Big Oil! Exxon posted earnings in the 2Q of this year of nearly 12 billion dollars. Actually, I'm gonna type that number out. Earnings of nearly $12,000,000,000 in a 3 month period. Not total income, EARNINGS, PROFIT, ICING ON THE CAKE, etc. That equals out to these numbers approx: $128,351,648 per day, $5,347,985 per hour, $89,133 per minute, or $1,485 per second. Nice change if you can get it. Since McCain started all this nonsense a month ago, Big Oil lobbyists have donated more that $1 million dollars to his campaign. I wonder why.

I hate stupid people. When people make a decision about something after doing research (reading up on a subject, talking about it with eductated friends/family members, or watching the news), then I appreciate and understand their position even if I disagree with it. BUT, when dumbasses say or do something in public without knowing just what the hell they are talking about, it pisses me off.
What I'm talking about is the 2008 Presidental race. For those that don't know, I'm really, really, really into this. I watch hours of coverage a day on tv, read several political web sites, and keep up with all 3 candidates as much as possible. I know people that are solidly backing McCain because they really agree with his positions on a number things. He's not my choice but I understand why they like him. I know people that are die-hard Clinton backers because they really like her ideas. She's not my choice, but I like her. As for me, I'm pulling for Barack Obama. I strongly feel he's the best candidate for the job and I hope he wins in November.
Oh yeah....I hate stupid people. I was reading an article on kentuckyconnect.com, the website of the Lexington Herald Leader, when I found this: http://www.kentucky.com/254/story/414666.html
Now they key part of this story is this passage:
"The race issue is complicated by false, but rampant, rumors that Obama is Muslim. In Leslie County, a Republican county where Obama won 5 percent of the Democratic vote, the county judge-executive doesn't hesitate before mischaracterizing Obama's religion.
"I think one of the big problems for him is he's Muslim," said Jimmy Sizemore, the highest elected official in the county. "It's his religion, plus when his pastor came out and started talking, that was a problem, but that's just my opinion.
"I don't think it's because he's black, what everybody says is he is a Muslim."
When asked if he had ever researched the fact that Obama — and the Rev. Wright — are Christians, Sizemore said: "I don't care about finding out because I'm a Republican."
WTF??? Did I read that correctly or are my eyes playing tricks on me? Did a County Judge Executive just say: "I don't care about finding out because I'm a Republican."???? How is this idiot allowed to stay in office? Doesn't he have to make crucial decisions daily as a CJE? If he doesn't like an idea, does he just kill it without researching it? Apparently this clown is a Grade A asshole.
On Wednesday night, my wife and I went to church as we usually try to do on Wednesday nights. We love our church even though we may not agree with everything they speak about. (In fact, I quit going for over a year after the 2004 Presidental election when there were cheers for Bush stealing yet another election. What should have been a period of mourning was beeing celebrated so I stopped going.). Anyway, they had a guest speaker on Wednesday night. This moron was a preacher from some Free Will church. About half way through his sermon, he started talking about how bad things are in our country. I agreed 100%. Bush and his cronies have destroyed America with their shredding of the Constitution and stripping us of our freedoms. An unjust war, torture, sucking up and bowing to every lobbying firm on the planet, etc. But, he wasn't talking about those things. He said he couldn't believe we were letting a Muslim run for President. I nearly shat myself right there in the pew! A few "that's right"s came from the congregation as I looked over at Rachel and and called him several variations of the word idiot. He went on to say it was just as bad that we were letting a woman run for President. That was met with no response from the crowd. Maybe it's just a hunch, but I think I might know who this turd is going to vote for in November.
So, this is my little rant. Whichever rock they turned over to find these pieces of crap, I hope they put them back under it and leave them be. Society as a whole is better off without them.

I was expecting a horrible season that gave us maybe 5 wins but the Vikings ended up with 8 wins and was in the playoff chase up till the last week of the season. The team again proved that it has an incredible offensive line, defensive front four and linebackers. The secondary and WR's were weak but decent enough. The running game was nothing less than amazing. Taylor and Peterson are an awesome combo and I hope the Vikings keep them together for a few more years. The main problem was at QB. I only wish Childress would realize that TJack is NOT the answer. He played horribly all year and doesn't deserve to be in the NFL. Way too many bad throws, bad decisions, and just bad play all around really held us back. If the Vikings had only a mediocre QB, they could have won 10 games this year. Well, the season is over and it was exciting. Too bad it's over.

These guys can be summed up using one word: terrible. The offense was pathetic and there are no signs of them being able to improve anytime soon. Sure the defense was solid but there is no reason for optimism on the offensive side of the ball. Yeah, we have a good line and good RB but when you have no WR or QB, you have nothing. I know Brad Johnson's old but this Tavarius Jackson guys is flat out horrible. When watching young QBs make their first few starts you can often pick up a play or two to see promise for the future. This guys showed nothing but garbage ability and garbage decision making. He will never, ever make it in the NFL. Send this guy to NFL Europe or cut the cord and draft someone else because he will never be the answer. We need three good WRs as well so hopefully the draft will be kind as well as the FA market.

Am I a conservative, a liberal, or a moderate? I tend to think of myself as a moderate that leans to the left. If you want to know my opinion on any subject, just ask and I'll post my thoughts.
I am against abortion unless the mother's life is in danger or the pregnancy was a result of rape.
I believe every adult should be allowed to own a firearm such as a pistol or shotgun but I don't believe anyone has the need to own assault rifles.
I am against amnesty for ILLEGAL immigrants. Come here legally and I'll wish you all the best in pursuing the American Dream (not Dusty Rhodes). If you're here illegally, I hope you are soon deported.
I think we should be drilling for oil in Alaska and off our own coasts.
I do not think forcing the poor to suffer just so that the richest people in the country can get another tax break is a smart thing to do.
I believe the government should be funding stem cell research.
I don't agree that outsourcing jobs is good for our economy.
I believe in the death penalty.
I believe marijuana should be legalized.
