I am deeply saddened by the news of Kiyoshiro(忌野清志郎)'s death. He was an inspiration to many people and certainly to myself. He will be greatly missed but his music will live on forever. May his soul rest in peace. from N
Kiyoshiro Imawano dies at 58
Kiyoshiro Imawano has just passed away at the age of 58. He died at 0:51am on May 2, after a battle with cancer that started three years ago. In July 2006, Imawano was diagnosed with cancer of the larynx, and after undergoing treatment he was able to make a comeback at the end of 2007. Later that year, it was discovered that the cancer had spread, once again halting his career. However, medical treatment was unable to stop the cancer, and it ultimately spread throughout his lymphatic system. Imawano started his career as the vocalist of influential rock band RC Succession. The group went on indefinite hiatus in 1991, and Imawano continued as a solo artist. He was also active as a lyricist, composer, producer, and actor.

Good Afternoon! Zeno Journal updated!
http://zenojournal.blog49.fc2.com/
featuring "In From The Storm" at "The Jimi Hendrix Concert" in Cologne (1991) with his brother Uli Jon Roth. In this particular song Zeno plays the lead guitar. Loud! Also it is rare to see Uli and Zeno together on stage...
Ciao! from N xxx

Son: Why did you start music? Father: Money. Son: Did you ever enjoy it? Father: No. But who pays a poet? Ah! That's the cynical side of you, Zeno. In actuality, "music is Zeno's destiny", as his brother Uli Jon Roth once stated. "Otherwise how can he create such beautiful songs?" This reminds me of an interview with Joaquin Phoenix, although I am not a big fan of him. "Acting doesn’t seem like that's a big part of my life, or what was important. I imagine that when I look back on my life, acting will be just a very small portion, and I think music will be the dominant thing in my life." (by Joaquin Phoenix) from Nxx

Dwayne: I wish I could just sleep until I was eighteen and skip all this crap-high school and everything-just skip it. Frank: Do you know who Marcel Proust is?
Frank: French writer. Total loser. Spent 20 years writing a book almost no one reads. But he's also probably the greatest writer since Shakespeare. Anyway, he uh... he gets down to the end of his life, and he looks back and decides that all those years he suffered, those were the best years of his life, 'cause they made him who he was. All those years he was happy? You know, total waste. Didn't learn a thing. So, if you sleep until you're 18... Ah, think of the suffering you're gonna miss.... ----- I really love this film, "Little Miss Sunshine" and this(↑) is a good message. (I also like Marcel Proust and "In Search of Lost Time(À la recherche du temps perdu)" especially with "episode of the madeleine".) You know what? What makes your life or life-time-work valuable is if your work is going to last even after you are dead, I think. This applies for everybody (in various ways), not just for writers or artists. from Nxx I am not sure if Zeno has read any by Proust. Maybe it's not his cup of tea... :-)
