In addition to being able to pick up our new album Figures (featuring the sweet, sweet art of Mr.B Sears) at our shows, we're trying out online distribution. We added a PayPal button to our page, which basically guarantees that you'll find a copy of said album in your mailbox by the week's end.
I wish I wasn't in the band so I could try it out!!

And it landed atop the littleman.

If you've been wondering where Fork in Socket is at this very moment, THEYRE IN THEIR BAND BED GETTING SLEEP. IT IS TOO EARLY TO ROCK YET.

But seriously, there's a show on Friday...and it's gonna be gooood.

Then of course, we scraped our most recent recordings in favor of a post-Deleton revamp. We're doing it completely on our own so its going slowly. We have high hopes for the final product (including sexy packaging and a minor mass production. Distribution will still be small scale, however.) If instead of a recording, it were an illegal movie download, it'd be about 73% finished at this point. And it's gonna be gooood.

Finally, our group made personal history, recording the FIRST EVER Fork in Socket vocal tracks at practice today. What's all the fuss about, singers? That shit was eeeasy.

PS - The badasses at 92.7 WXBH get a huge high-five for going out of their way to play the music we don't even have recorded yet! Check it out. Give them a listen at wxbh.org

To keep everyone up to speed:

We have achieved Two Guitar Glory by increasing our number of members to 4. Eric Deaton (formerly of Not Quite Superheroes) has been practicing with us the last couple of weeks and we are writing new, better material.

We hope to finish recording our latest batch of songs within a couple of weeks and have a fancy e.p.-type demo in the next month or so.

We are currently discussing shows in the near future. One possibly in late September and one in late October. We shall post information as it becomes available.

We have written a new batch of songs and will be recording/posting them and attempting to play shows in the next month or two. We will post info if/when we get it.

For those who have been keeping up with us (and god bless the both of you) we just wanted to let you know of some important changes to the FiS Calendar of Events...

First of all, our upcoming spring kick-off/bbq is being indefinitely post-poned until further notice. The show, which was to feature August Moon / Battles / Isis / Fork.in.Socket / Don Caballero / & Mogwai is being pushed back due to scheduling conflicts. It's proving to be very difficult to find an open day on everyone's calendar, so we'll get back to you as to when this show will actually happen!

In other news, if anyone has seen an 808 drum machine and a Theremin, we seem to have left these at our last show and cannot continue the songwriting process without this equipment! Also we seem to misplaced a Moog Voyager, and will post a reward for its safe return.

Thanks all,
Fizzle in Sizzle

Scott quit the band tuesday. There will be no final show or last hurrah or anything. We are most likely going to sit on three members until we decide to get a fourth. There is no rush to get a fourth guy, but if a good situation presents itself, we'll look into it. The end. We are still playing the show on the 11th, just without Scott.

The recording of last night's performance of "Might As Well Be Dead" has been uploaded for your listening pleasure. Those of you who enjoyed it live will be able to relive the glory and those of you who weren't there won't be able to sleep tonight due to regret.

Well, night has fallen, and dawn is approaching, and at last we've all finally found silence. What a straange, noisy, convivial (and tasty) night it's been. Thanks to all the bands we shared the reverb-laden stage with and anyone who was willing to tolerate it. Maybe see you guys again in say...February?

Also, a lot of people have been asking us (not really), "Fork in Socket! Your music has touched my life, but I wasn't able to make it to your show...or I live out of state...but I simply crave a copy of your self-made demo! Can this dream ever become a reality?"

If this is the case, feel free to message us on here or email us at forkinsocket@hotmail.com. We've still got a handful left over, and the further we can get these things away from us, the better for us all!

DS

PS - If you're having any trouble with the burnt demo, it's probably my fault and I would like to fix that. If it's skipping or has glitches (non-musical oriented) email forkinsocket@hotmail.com and I'll knock some sense into it.

Norman Bates has invaded MySpace. Prepare accordingly.

Fork.in.Socket's first CD is now undergoing replication to be unleashed upon the masses for free at this Friday's show.

The show Friday is not to be missed. Seriously. If you miss the show your face will turn into jello. True story.
