Current mood:  anxious

We are breaking up!  I'm sure some are bummed, some are glad, and most won't notice.  However, this band has played a major role in the lives of its members, their families, and many of our friends and its ending means something different to everybody involved.  We want to thank everyone that has supported us over the last decade, especially our friends and family.  While the band is coming to a close, the music that we have made and the times that we've shared will be fondly remembered over the following years and luckily we are splitting on good terms.

Next Saturday will be our final show and going away party for our guitarist Dan Meyers (moving to NYC the following week).  It will be at the Gypsy Lounge in Lake Forest and it starts around 8:30PM.  We're going to have a lot of old friends in attendance, including old band mates, and we hope you can make it out as well.  We're going to have some t-shirts, hoodies, and signed & numbered posters available.  Josh came up with some really cool designs but they're in limited quantities.  We'll be selling them cheap, as close to cost as possible and hopefully you'll like them.  We're also filming and audio recording the show and we'll make that available once we edit it.  If you bring a camera or recorder we'd love to get a copy so that we can perhaps use it in our video we'll be making (photos too).  Thanks everybody, we'll see you soon.

Well we've put up 4 new songs on our myspace player.  War of the Cross and Impending Tragedy of Make Believe and the Homecoming Queen are new demos that are still being worked on.  Another Song About You is a cover song originally recorded by Fury 66 and released on their Red Giant Evolution album.  This cover song will eventually find its way on to a tribute album being put out by Rhine River.  Last but not least, Death Makes a Holiday (strings version demo) is one of our older songs except it has some cello, viola, and piano on there as well.  We hope you enjoy these new songs... we're not sure how long we'll leave all of these up before changing them again so listen to them and download them at your own listening pleasure.  Enjoy....

Current mood:  energetic

Everything seems to be coming together rather well.  We finished recording 3 new songs over a couple days in a couple different recording studios.  The songs have more of a raw feel than our last recording (considering we spent a couple months on six songs last time) and we think it's the best stuff we've done up to this point.

The 3 songs consist of a Fury 66 cover song called Another Song About You for a tribute album on Lorelei Records, our first "joke" song called The Impending Tragedy of Make Believe and the Homecoming Queen, and an 8-minute long epic called War of the Cross.  We're excited to see what everybody thinks and they should be posted soon.

We're also looking to begin playing our first shows since last September.  Right now Dave #2 is in Africa and Dan is going to England in a couple weeks and then we'll be hitting the streets to play some good-times shows.  Thanks to everybody that supports us in our journey...

It's been a long time since our last show and we figured we'd let you in on the current status of Jet Black Halo.  We are in fact alive and well... not broken up... repeat, we have not broken up.  A few months back the band went through a little bit of drama and parted ways with Colin (drums) and Colby (bass).  To put it simply the five of us were not having fun and we knew things had to change.  We now have a new drummer, Landon Asbury, and we our headed into the recording studio to record a few songs.  The main focus will be a cover of Fury 66's "Another Song About You" for the upcoming tribute album out on Lorelei Records in July.  We'll also be doing a couple new tracks and preparing to play some new live shows.  We are still looking for a permanent bass player that can also do backup vocals.  That's about it.  Hopefully we'll see you all soon...
