Current mood:  excited
Category: Music
Hi there y'all.
Its' been a looong time since I last  updated this site, I am sorry but take it as a good sign of me being busy making music for you all.

I just finished the mixes for the new Mnemic album. I am really really excited about this one. It will show you a more mature band with better songwriting skills than ever. Heavy moody songs all over. The response to the songs so far from label and the few press people who have heard it so far have been overwhelming. Be affraid, Muhahaha...

At the same time I am also sort of working on the new Dark Tranquillity album. Sort of because I helped with the set up and they are presently recording the album in Sweden without me. Now I started the mix of the album, and so far the songs  I have heard sound very very cool. Don't forget the live DVD from Milan which is just about to hit the shops now... which I mixed... Great show!

This summer was spent around Europe. First I was in Italy tracking drums, bass and guitars for Figure Of 6 at Fear studio. I am going to do the mix later this year when they have finished doing the synthstuff and vocals.

Right after that I was in Spain to re-record the first album of Spanish band Soziedad Alkoholika in Music Lan studio a little north of Barcelona. That was the nicest album to work on. Great rooms, great equipment, great people, great food, swimmingpool, sunshine... and good music of course ;-).
I also mixed a few live songs for a DVD release by this band. I am looking forward to repeating the experince next year when it's time for the real new album.

Mantric have inked a deal with Prosthetic records. It makes me very happy to see. You all have to go out and get this album! For those who don't know, this is what rose from the ashes after Extol split up and it is quite simply greatness! go out and get it! That is an order, dude!!

Supercharger is a danish band playing RnR  have released their debut album produced by me. It's a great party record for sure!

Vader and Winds Of Plague put out new albums recently both mixed and mastered by yours truly.

Next month I will go to Copenhagen to record the new Sick Of It All album. The demos already sound good. That is going to be great.

Hello there. Lots of things have happened since last.
Right about now you will be able to hear a new album from HateSphere with the whole new line up. It's killer I have to say. The new Ektomorf album is causing people to talk already. We really came up with a new approach to Ektomorf this time. Think AC/DC and Boney M... Big phat sounds heavier and deeper than ever before. We are very proud of it and hope you will all enjoy.
Earth Crisis is coming out in a second as well, sounding very fresh. exciting times...

My old friend Alxxx, former singer of my old band, Grope has a new album out with his band Monstah. It is in danish(!!) and its great. Check it out.

I have been getting busy with the new Engel album for a while as well. I can't wait for that one to be unleashed on the world, but right now we are not sure exactly when it is coming out. Those of you who have been following me for years will know that I have been doing stuff with these guys for years and it feels so good to finally do the album we always wanted to do with each other.

I have been working on a few Live DVDs mixing in 5.1 surround. Dark Tranquillity recorded in Milan and Heaven Shall Burn recorded in Vienna. Great amazing crowds at both shows. Truly amazing. Cant wait to see it with the edited pictures.

For the past 4 weeks I (or that should maybe be [AMATORY]) have been number one on the biggest Ruassian rock radio station. Outside of Russia you pprobably never heard of them, but over there they are huge. Amazing band!

I would like to also mention some friends of mine who make some outstanding pedals. Emma Electronic have come up with an overdrive pedal to end all tube screamers. Together with my old Marshall Master volume that I got back after living without it for more than a decade, it is pure art! But it also works wonders to all my other amps getting that gain and tone just right. It's called Stinkbug. Go get it.

Right now I am mixing a band called Mantric which features ex-membersof Extol, meaning: excellent music!!!! You better check up on them. This stuff is truly greatness.

Hello Everybody

I know its been a long time since my last update... but here is a new one.

Quite a lot of things have happened since last time...
the new the Haunted album is out now and you will know it's a masterpiece again when you hear it! And I command you to pick up the special edition. We recorded 21 tracks and there wasn't one bad song in there.. so all the bonus stuff WILL be killer.
While doing the recordings, I also found a minute to help out Softube with their new Guitar amp plug in, Metal Amp Room which Jensen was involved with designing (making sure the chucks were not lost). I have to say I was very surprised when I heard the results. It really does sound like the way I record guitars and it makes me want to do a lot more set ups for them if I can get them to do this. I have already used it twice... 2 out of 4 guitar tracks on the new Sirenia used this plug The other two were rectifier.
Presets will be available through Softube later (I promise Niklas).

I just finished a new album for Born From Pain with Rob now handling the vocals. Sounds very very good to me. Also just finished mixing the new Sirenia album with an awesome new singer and great new songs.

I came home from Russia recording Amatory recently. Very special experience. The band is singing in Russian.. but will also make an English version. Really good band!! And big as hell over there, which feels very weird when you hear nothing at all about them only 2 hours away on a plane...

Scamp is a local band I worked with a long time ago (I mixed this album), and now the album is finally coming out on Scarlet Records. If you like Mnemic/Meshuggah stuff you will love this bunch. They are fucking awesome!!

Nueva Etica have made a new harder better tighter album which I am mixing with Jacob Olsen engineering. It sounds Hard!

I just came home from Gothenburg recording the new Engel album. It is a long time dream of mine to do this album, and it feels so good to finally be working with them first hand. We recorded the drums in Puk studios, guitars and bass in Storan in Gothenburg and vocals at my place. We are working on 17 songs, let's see how many end up on the record.
I know this record is going to kick major ass!!

I am also putting the finishing touches to the new Hatesphere album now. There is a band who went throught some changes, but rest assured, it still sounds like Hatesphere.

Next up I am going to dothe mix of the new Earth Crisis album!!, And a new Ektomorf album and a Heaven shall Burn live DVD. So lots of good stuff to look forward to.

Hi there everybody...

So I have a few hours to kill at cph airport... on my way to Marseille to start the new Dagoba album... which is going to be absolutely awesome, I know!!!...
And speaking of awesome: Awesome stuff have been going on lately. First the new Moonspell album is just about to be unleashed on the world. It is getting great reviews, album of the month kinda thing... Great guys, good times and good music...
And Soziedad Alkoholika was here to do the mix of their new album. I am not sure when that one is coming out...
This past month I have been keeping busy with the Haunted!!! We were in PUK studios in Denmark to record the music and went to Gothenburg to do the vocals at IF studios. Peter had some weird shit going on in his mouth though (infection, operation, can't sing kinda thing)... so some of the vocals were done a little later at the Antfarm, where the mix took place as well. Pretty much all the music was recorded live in the studio!!!! No click tracks, no triggers, no faking it... just good old making music the way it used to be back when you had to actually be able to play your shit to do it... And we recorded 21 tracks!!!! You better make sure you get the special edition because at this stage I can't name one song which is not worthy of being on the album!! It's 21 great tracks I promise!!
Meanwhile I have been working on some live material meant for a dvd release by Behemoth... And that just has to be the scariest band alive!! They are scary on stage, but the raw tracks also promise great evil... What a band...

I think thats what's on my mind for now... Later dudes and dudettes!!

Good news!

It seems that the danish answer to the grammy, the DMA08 will have a hardrock award this year... And it looks like a winner for me already since I produced or mixed all three of them... The award show is on the 23rd of February. Lucky for all of us they don't consider Volbeat metal or Hardrock, since they are nominated in other categories.

The new Heaven Shall Burn album is no 1 in soundcheck in Rockhard!! Very nice and doing pretty close to the same in Metal Hammer I am told. Good album. Go get it.

Moonspell is here doing their new album. It is going great We did the drums in Feedback studio like with the Under Satanae album, the rest have been done here at the 'Farm. We are getting the last details done these days and will continue to mix mid next week I think/hope. So far I only heard great songs...

After that it's time to mix a new album from Soziedad Alkoholika from Spain. I am looking forward to that.

In the meantime please check out these two amazing videos:
> Eminence from Brazil Day 7. excellent music, excellent people, excellent country... Sick Drummer!
> Benea Reach: New Waters

This is the new shit for 2008!

Enjoy.. till next time

News

November 22nd

I won the Danish Metal Award for best production again this year! Together with Christian Oldewolbers of course for Mnemics "Passenger" album. Very very nice! And I got to see te new line up of Hatesphere as well that night. Still a very good band, and a great new singer!

I have been working on some fantastic new albums that you need to check out!Benea Reach from Norway is one of them. Their new album is going to shake everybodies world! I Like!

One Way Mirror, a bunch of Frenchies from Mnemic, Soilwork, Scarve, Lyzanxia, have had their album mixed here. You WILL hear about this one I am telling you!

Eminence, the album I did in Brazil is finished and sounding awesome. Great drummer, Great riffs huge energy!! I like!

I mixed the new album for american band Winds Of Plague. Great band too.

At the moment I am working on the new Cataract album which is seeing them take a big step forward I think, and te debut album from danish Mugshot who recently signed a deal with SonyBMG. Its gonna be a great album as well, and deep. Very deep!

The new Knuckledust album is coming out now and that one is the first of the new "Team Antfarm Productions". The team is Me (sic) and Jacob Olsen. I take care of the setting up and he does all the tracking. That way bands with lesser budgets can also get a piece of the pie, soundwose at least. And Jacob is a very good engineer as well. More to come.

Next up is Xmas! And then Moonspell...and then The Haunted...Dagoba...Kryoburn... and some reggae. More about that later.

I am a happy man. I hope you're happy too!

Later...

So I am in Brasil working on a new album from Eminence. The sun is shining like crazy and this is what they call winter. Here it is 30 degrees and at home in DK it´s 15 and raining. And thats what I call summer. Eminence are great, just wait till you hear it. They even convinced me to do a solo!!! Wahhh it´s been a long time since I did that.

This summer Moonspell was at the Antfarm to re-record some really old stuff. Their first demo and single as a stop gap funstuff thing. It came out amazing I think. Very old school but at the same time very fresh. And I got myself a very cool ringtone out of it, hehe. One that scares kids as well as parents, you know... real people.

The new Gorefest album was album of the month recently in Rockhard as well as some other places. Awesome! Another qawesome is danish hi tech metallers Scamp shopping for a deal now... and Suicide Silence and Himsa!!! So much stuff out now. Check References, I just updated it.

I have to mention the new Destiny album too. They are now called The Destiny Project and they are fantastic! The album was produced by Anders Friden and Daniel Bergstrand and mixed by by yours truly.

Another that has been released is the new August Burns Red. Someone showed me a forum where some wise guy was trying to belittle Matt Grainer by saying he had been fixed by Beat Detective. That shit pisses me off big time. I know it is almost an industry standard to do so, but let me tell you. It is actually possible to play the drums yourself, and NOT have a machine help you. Matt Grainer is the real deal, just so you know. He is the result of great and hard work and what you hear on that album is HIM playing.

Knuckledust have been back here to record their new album. This time with my assistant engineer Jacob Olsen tracking the record. I did the set up so everything is recorded to my liking but he is doing the tracking. Mix is handled by both of us. We have worked like this a couple of times now and it´s smoothe and hard. Knuckldust have never sounded better I think. Great songs.

That off my chest, I am going back home soon to finish the mix of Eminence and the new Konkhra album as well as do the mix of the new Heaven Shall Burn album. That is going to be a blast!! After which I am going to Norway to help Benea Reach get started on their recordings.

I think thats it for now.... Later.

It's been a while, as I'm sure you know, sorry. But I am just back from Nashville, TN recording the new album for August Burns Red (Solid State rec.).  We recorded drums at Soundkitchen where I almost met Dolly Parton!!!! I saw her hair walk by the window, hehe, but when we finished our work and took a break she was gone. Booger!!

Just before I left I finished the mix of the new Hatesphere album (SPV). Amazing!!! The weeks are going to be spend mixing Cry Of The Afflicted (Solid State), Droid (ES rec), Gorefest (Nuclear Blast) and Suicide Silence (Century Media) (1.3 mill hits on their Myspace site!!!). One amazing album after the other.

Changes are being made to the antfarm studio. It will be a lot sweeter to work there now... the first to enter for recording will be Jan Chris of gorefest to do the vocals for their new album. The demos already sound great, so I cant wait for the final recording.

More exciting things are coming up, but it is too soon to tell y'all about it yet. Later!

SICK!

Nov 19th

So great things happened yesterday. The Danish Metal Award show happened and Raunchy's Death Pop Romance album won for best production, which of course was mixed by yours truly and produced by Jacob Hansen. Also Submission won for best debut album and best track, also done by me and Jacob.
This week a lot of Halford stuff is being released on iTunes. That includes the Crucible album that was remixed by me plus two new songs "Forgotten Generation" and "Drop Out". Amazing stuff and great to finally get it out there.
The Psyke Project has just left the building after recording a new album. Once again they recorded live in the studio. They also gave a very convincing performance opening the DMeA.
Last I gotta tell you about this new Randall amp I got. It is the RM100M. Everybody should check it out. The concept is amazing and the sound even better. I am really looking forward to get to use this a lot more in the future. So far I used it on the new Born From Pain album. If I remember correctly we used the Recto preamp and the UltraXL for the rhythmguitar sound.
Me likes alot!!

Hi there.
A sort message to tell y'all what I been up to lately. I just sent Aborted home after finishing the recordings for their new album, featuring Jeff Walker!!!! on guest vocals. That's a second for me, as he also guested on the Mnemic album. Legendary.
Also Lou Koller(Sick Of It All) guested on two albums I been working on lately, namely the new Born From Pain and Barcode records, both to be released early next year. Born From Pain also has guest performances from Barney (Napalm Death) and Jan Chris (Gorefest).
Last month I did the mix of the new Mnemic album after they recorded most of it in California with Christian Oldewolbers (Fear Factory).
Next up are a couple of things that have to remain a secret for a little while still, but it is all good!

See y'all later, Gatorz!
