Hello,

For any of you still checking in - just a little update:

Alex is in Texas playing South by Southwest with The Smyrk.  Check out their new demo  ---> www.myspace.com/thesmyrk.

I'm graduating school and traveling the world if I'm able.

As for the project Al mentioned - believe it or not, despite the college grind the two of us amassed a body of musical work which we've made a goal to chisel, encapsulate and share with you.  We haven't discussed a timeframe for it or anything, but whenever that transpires we'll let you know.

Thanks guys.  I still see you!

x,
Adam

Well it took us long enough...Over a year? Off The Bridge is no more. In fact, we have been no more for well over a year, trying out new things, band formats and genres, experimenting as young'ns will do...

This will be brief because it has been so long that I can't remember where we left off (I didn't read the last blog we wrote on here). Cutting to the point, Adam and I have a new project we're working on and we'll have a song up on that projects's myspace web address very very soon.

I've also joined another band, which you'll be hearing from soon enough. On the plus side of this, lots and lots of music will be coming your way in 2009 that sounds nothing like what is on this page (take that for what it is worth, i think it's a creative step in the right direction). [Note: this was not as brief as I had hoped]

Thanks for oodles of fun in our early years as young music-making blokes, and have a fantastic new years eve! If you're still reading this, you get a gold star.

hugs and kisses
- Alex

To begin:

We just played Toad's Place's "grand reopening show". It was our last show for awhile as we will lock ourselves in the chamber of secrets to finish writing and begin the recording of a new cd, so cheers to everyone who came out.

This next record is going to be quite the departure from our last ep, and we are really excited with some of the ideas and sounds that have been making their way onto our pre-production-recording-box, thus far.

In very related news, Some of you may be wondering to yourselves and each other, "Has Nick been undertaking drastic makeovers, plastic surgeries and height increases and reductions between shows, he looks different every time we see this band live..."...We will answer with "Ney! these different looking drummers are in fact, not Nick." Unfortunately, Nick and we have parted ways, due to creative differences. We parted on the best of terms and we wish him best of luck in his future musical endeavors. Having cleared the show schedule, we will be auditioning permanent drummers through August and September. If you are interested:

Drummers send an e-mail to band1@offthebridge.com with "Drummers" as the subject. You must be at least 18, have had previous band experience, and be willing to adjust your schedules accordingly. Include any links to audio clips or video of your playing.

To everyone else, check back for updates and info, as we'll have a studio blog going when the time comes, along with a podcast on itunes, and so much more...

TTFN everyone

www.sellaband.com

...one of the most clevor concepts for a site I've come across in a while.  Register to the site as a 'believer'.  'Believe' in a band of your choice (us) and invest with 'parts' at $10 a piece.  When a band reaches $50,000 or 5,000 parts, they're put in a top studio with a top producer.   When the cd is recorded, the band and investors reap the benefits.  Check out the site for a more thorough explanation.  We're at over $1300 right now and  we're on the homepage under 'biggest gainers'.  Check it out and invest in us!!!  Yeah?  Maybe?

Cheers,

adam

With the exception of two or three shows, we've decided to set aside December and January for writing new material.  Thanks to everyone who came out to see us these past couple months.  We had fun times.

We're demoing a track next week.   We'll post it online when its done.  : )

Take care,

Adam

*REMINDER:  The Space - December 22...Don't miss it....The Smyrk said they'll buy everyone ice cream.

We just want to let everyone know we are pouring our musical sounds into a handfull of New York City clubs/venues/bars and that we would love to see some of your faces.  Check the shows section because more shows are being added this week.

WERS Radio, the number one college radio station, was nice enough to have us in for a live in studio performance and interview.  Check out the article here:

http://www.wers.org/interviews/display.asp?show=12&article=25

*Note:  They made a couple mistakes.  In the writeup Marans is dubbed 'Maran' and they have us from New York (to clarify: we live there for two thirds of the year for school but as you all know we're from CT).  Besides that though, nice little piece!  Check it out.
