Hey Crowd,
Remember when your good Ole Great Unc'a Bill would blog all the time.  Why I'd go on for hours and write about things that only a maniac would want to hear...and you read it, to your credit.

Besides the fact that that rhymed, or despite that fact I'd ramble on about treasure hunts and network auditions and bands I heard and my favorite fans.  And then things got quiet...a little too quiet.  The divorce happened...and I stopped blogging regularly.  That was probably scary for you and maybe you even blamed yourself or felt that it was your fault.

Well, it probably was.  But I wouldn't hold that against  you because things are better now. So here I am in LA on a slightly chilly night. During the days the weather has been beautiful.  Like the sort of weather they have where angels guard secret giants.  Or the kinda day when a surfer dude decides not to "hang ten" and sits under the shade of a cocanut tree and "pots off" or whatever it is that druggers do.

I've had some mad fun since coming back to town, including shooting two more episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place and a webisode of Donny Clay starring Jason Alexander.  I've got classes going on in LA and The Improv Trick is going strong in St. Louis while I'm in LA where we all agree I need to be.

Well, one of the fun things I've done is go to Yoshimoto Nara exhibit at the Blum and Poe gallery.  Like much of Japanese art, it's all about young girls.  I decided I should have my picture taken in front of a really cool looking circus wagon.  The second such picture I've found recently.

The other such picture is from long ago when I was writing for Jeff Fox's Barracuda Magazine under the name Diamond Bill Cardigan, a trickster and medicine show man and living encyclopedia of sucker bets.

Diamondbill

In the meantime, my good friend Eric Hoffman has found a number of old pics from my days with the sketch comedy troupe The Dickie Bell Twist Dance Party and put them on Facebook.  You can find them there, but here's an example of the insipred lunacy.

This was a really fun show that we did in the early days of iO West.  Very bizarre sketches from another dimension with a cool Retro feel.  Before Retro was cool and when it was still just Post Junk.

I just got back from New Orleans for the New Orleans Comedy Arts Festival.  It was a lot of fun.  I had never been there for a Mardi Gras parade.  It was so neat.  There was a float that featured Uncle Sam, bent over a barrell and a prom queen named Fannie Mae having her way with the kind uncle.  I had a great time and I think this picture sums it all up.

Yes, by the end of the evening I was, as the British put it, "Fagged Out."  I really enjoyed seeing some of my favorite funny people including the wonderful Yvonne Landry owner and director of the La Nuit Comedy Theater.  It was good to see all the acts, and in particular I enjoyed hanging with Jill Bernard, who had me do a cameo on her audio blog about The Lockhorns.

You can hear it here:

http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http://lockhornsaloud.livejournal.com%2F82358.html

This was her Mardi Gras costume...a pirate hat.

I really enjoyed watching the Oscars the other night.  I had my greedy little working actor fingers crossed and I'm glad that my favorite pinko commie homosexual Sean Penn won for Best Actor.

Although I have to say that I was also rooting for Mickey Rourke.  I really identified with his role in The Wrestler and the portion of his life where he felt that he couldn't go on doing the only thing he loved and decided to work as a butcher, until he snapped.

He had fun until he was recognized.  That's kinda how I felt about moving back to St. Louis until The Improv Trick became this amazing thing in my life and I was reborn.  I felt like I was denying myself the thing I loved in life, and until our improv comminty came together there, I was lost. Very much like Randy the Ram.

I also really enjoyed Benjamin Button.  Both that movie and the Wrestler were about coming back from your adversities even stronger.  Just like Me and New Orleans. It was great to see so many familiar sites in that film.  Places I've seen on my many trips to the beautiful Crecent City.

I look at New Orleans making it's way back and I see myself, I see Benjamin Button, I see Randy the Ram.  I see America.

Hey Motherfakers,

It's me, your good old, great old Uncle Bill-elect with another update from Hollywood.  The newest hips and haps in the land of saps.

Ooooooookay.  I've already had enough of this inauguration.  I'm really looking forward to tomorrow, but the news has been kinda jerky about doing all this coverage of every moment Obama is spending before he takes the oath.

I'm kinda getting the idea that it's going to be this way for at least a couple of years.  It's like his presidency is like a reality show. Althought I would like to see more transparency in the White House.

Another day shooting at Wizards of Waverly Place, and it was a lot of waiting around and then Selena and I banged out about two scenes back to back, which is beginning to be a bit of a formula so far.  We're able to get a lot of shooting done in "Mr. Laritate's Office".

Selena mentioned that she might be nominated for a Kids Choice Award, and I think she'll get nominated in the very least. She could win.  The show has overtaken Hannah Montana in the ratings, and all over the country, kids ask me to tell her that they love her.  I wish I could remember all their names, but I need to tell her that tomorrow cause she's been working really hard this week and deserves a pick me up.

The director Bob Koherr said to me today, "Bill you're good at what you do." after we whizzed through the longer scenes back to back to get the production back on schedule.  I know I'm appreciated on the set, but it never hurts to hear that said.

Yesterday, I had a wonderful brunch thrown by my good friend Becky.  I caught up with a lot of friends, and had a number of White Russians, and Mimosas.  I'm surprised I didn't puke cottage cheese.

So, I'm happy to say that I'm looking forward to seeing the Inauguration tomorrow morning.  It's a historic event and the story of a man who shot to the top of the field.  He's targeted the hopes and goodwill of several generations. He has taken out the partisan politics of the past and really seems to be ready to put the politics to rest.  Yes, we did!

All Hail Obama!
BTW, OMG, Happy MLK!

My producer Marc asked me why I hadn't blogged in a while, and I had no good answer for him.  So, my gentle Motherfaking Blogstards, the tradition is back.

I've got a lot to fill you in on.  First, about my new producer.  Marc was one of the people behind The Austin Big Stinkin' Improv Festival. He's now in St. Louis and working with The Improv Trick.  We're really lucky to have him aboard.  He's teaching as well as Lisa Slap (many Chicago and LA improvisers may know her by her maiden name, Lisa Trask) and George Malich, the star of the film A. Anonymous.

We have a lot of classes running at "The Trick" and I'm really proud that my improv school is up and functioning in St. Louis while I'm in LA for pilot season.
Click HERE to see a great video about The Improv Trick that's on the website ToastedRav.com. It's a local St. Louis website that let's everyone else know what a cool beans, T-Shirts and blue jeans town St. Louis really is.

For more on St. Louis, check out LoFiSTL.com, Culturesurfer.com and as always: www.theimprovtrick.com.

I'll be back in St. Louis a lot still for classes and shows, but right now it's important that I'm in LA this time of year.  Pilot season is the time of year when if you can fly a plane they'll give you your own TV show.  If Orville Wright can do this, then so can I.  So it's flight school and new headshots for me out in LA.
Sure, everybody knows that they shoot a lot of film and TV in LA, but you may not be aware of how much production is going on in St. Louis right now.  I'm up for a part in a George Clooney movie that's shooting in the Gateway City, and I just wrapped shooting on a film that's going to be featured in Monsterpiece Theatre II!

All shot in St. Louis and crazy unique and worth your time.  To see a local news story about this film, click HERE.

I'll be a bit guarded about the nature of some of my auditions out here because loose lips sink ships and a lot of scripts aren't even being released.  But you, my faithful Motherfakers will get updates about the most interesting projects and meetings I'm involved with.

Tomorrow I'm working on Wizards of Waverly Place and having a lot of fun, and after work I'll be reading for a new untitled project produced by Dan Schneider.  No big stretch, I'll play a mentally unstable improv teacher.
The sides (the lines I'm given to read for the audition) are pretty funny.  So, I'll be blogging regularly again but I've got a big day ahead of me. For all my friends in LA, let's make the most of this time together...I'M BACK!!!!

FAKE OFF,
Yer Great Uncle Bill

Hey Mohterfakers, What happened to blogs since my golden era of bloggin'? I used to be able to seperate paragraphs, bold some words, and add links. Do I have to add some kind of "APP" just to do basic things with my blog? If so, Tom (Myspace Tom) can kiss my APP! Let's see if this one turns out any better. Hope you had a Happy Halloween and that you're registered to vote. I just found out some GREAT news! Wizards of Waverly Place is going to be a MOVIE! Here's the info: http://www.popeater.com/television/article/wizards-of-waverly-place-the-movie/230719. I don't know yet if my character Mr. Laritate will play a role in the film, but I've got my fingers crossed and if you let the good folks at Disney know you'd like to see me in it that might help out. In other news, I just got back from Central Methodist University where I taught my yearly workshop and put on the annual Improv Jam. It was a blast. I did it despite the fact that I'm losing my voice. I'm back in St. Louis and hoping my voice returns in time for the Election Eve Extravaganza at Atomic Cowboy. If you're in St. Louis, I expect to see you there. Your Twisted Great Unca'Bill

My Gravy Sucking Motherfakers,Before I say any more, allow me to whip you up into a good mood. You will not regret checking out this video. It's one of the funniest things I've seen on YouTube in a long time. And it was done by one of my students, who attended Central Methodist University, and he's a fellow Chi Delta Brother. Here then, is the link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG65u38IknU Now, many of you have been asking: What they hey? Why don't you thrill us with the trivialities of your thrill-packed life, Unlce Billyo! Wherefore don't you blog us no more.........well, you get it, if you've been reading the last few posts. But I'm here to tell you that things are looking up. I shot a few more episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place. I was drenched in paint for one of the episodes and that can be found in my pics here on MySpace. I won't reveal the particulars of the plot, but it's a very funny episode.I've never felt more squishy and colorful all at once. Well, actually once in college, but I swore that off years ago.Peter Murietta, the Exec Producer of Wizards informed the cast at our table read that Wizards was the number one rated scripted show on cable last week. We beat out both Hannah Montana and The Shield. So we pretty much shattered all demographics.I for one know a grown man I went to college with who recites the Hat Chant from Wizards to his wife's chagrin. " What's That? A Hat?......"In the last episode I shot, our guest star was Misty Mae Traynor, the Olympic athlete and this week, our guest star was Jo Anne Worley! For those of you who are too young to know who she is, then just ask your parents if they've ever heard the phrase "Sock it to ME!"She was great to work with and her grandkids were so psyched that she was doing this spot. She plays Maggie, a street-wise hippie. Glad to be back blogging again. Please check out the video I mentioned at the top of the blog, and pass it on to a friend...you won't regret it..

Hello, you Motherfaking Blogheads,

I'm sorry my blogs have been automatically reposting themselves lately. If you know how to stop this, please let me know.I've been really busy lately. I took part in directing a one act play in a St. Louis contest called 7/24 where a cast mounts a complete one act play in 24 hours.

A week later, I had signed up for a similar film making competition with a much broader scope. The 48 hour film competition is a country-wide film making challenge where crews get only 48 hours to complete a short film.Ours was a lot of fun to make and I met some great local talent and international crew. Our film was shot on the RED camera, the latest in digital technology.

This really was the most exciting and challenging film project I've been a part of. Check it out here: http://pixeliq.com/mind%5Freinvented/

Let me know what you think. In other news, things are really ramping up for Improv Trick in St. Louis. We'll be opening Comedy on Parade this Monday at 8:00pm at The Atomic Cowby, St. Louis's hottest night spot.

Then in August, we'll open Playhouse Improv at the Playhouse at Westport Plaza. That show will include improvised musical comedies, improvised Shakespeare plays. interactive entertainment and some sketch comedy. For more info, visit www.theimprovtrick.com

On a personal note, thanks to all of you who wrote to me concerning my last blog. I'm not going to write about the subject anymore because I feel that moving on is very important and I don't want to cause any ill will by dragging out that discussion. If you want to talk with me about it, as always you're free to write me personally.

I promise to blog more now that I have a bit of free time amidst all the nuttiness going on here in "Tha Lou".

Sincerely,

Your Deranged Great Uncle Bill

My Most Dependable Motherfakers,

I know I haven't had the time to write in quite a while.  Those of you whom I talk to on a daily basis already know what's coming in this blog.  I've got a lot of ground to cover, Some Good News, and some Bad News.  And by Bad, I mean sad....but life goes on.

I just got back from another amazing time in LA.  I shot another episode of Wizards of Waverly Place. This was my first time on the set since it has become such a big success.  It was great to see the cast and crew who all get along like a family.  This episode was directed by Victor Gonzalez, who is just an absolute knight in shining armor of a director.  It's so easy to do good work when you're working with a director like him, and an exec producer like Peter Murietta.

I got a chance to catch up with all the cast members, even David DeLouise who is so busy lately that he was not in this episode because he is shooting a film for Universal.  I got to see him and his lovely daughter.  Selena, Gomez, David Henrie, and Jake Austin are growing up before my eyes.  Jennifer Stone was obsessed with spinning the horse on my bolo tie, and Maria Canals-Barerra asked me about how the married life was.  So did several other great people I worked with this week.

I wish I could say married life was going great, but today that just isn't the case.  Vera and I have been seperated for a while now, and it looks like we're going to get divorced.

This isn't the sort of thing that I would casually put in a bulletin, but it's something that I should let people who are in touch with me and care about me know.  That includes people like you, loyal motherfakers, who are there to support me come what may.

I really had hoped that counseling could address some of the issues we're facing, but soon enough -- even before I knew about it -- Vera had decided that it's going to end in divorce.

We haven't been together as a couple for about two months.  We met today for coffee and it was the toughest thing in the world to see that she wasn't wearing her wedding ring.  We still love each other, and we really don't want to fight.  We just aren't in love anymore.

It's amazing to me even now as I write those words, because I never thought I'd write them.  I really truly thought that we were going to be together forever.  Now today, I had to dash out of the St. Louis Bread Co. so I wasn't a sobbing mess in the coffee shop.  We said a tearful goodbye, and I headed off to tape an audition for a Coen Brothers film.  For the audition, I had to pretend to cry.  It was the toughest thing I've ever had to do.  To stop crying so that I can pretend to cry.

You'd think it would be easy to make a living just by controlling your emotions.  It's not.  It sure will be good to do a show this Sunday and hear some laughter.

Well, there's this week in a nutshell for you.  Like all my life, it's a rollercoaster.  This is going to be a tough year, but like all my tough years, it will only make me stronger.

END OF BLOG,

Bill
