I feel absolutely honored and blissful to announce to you all my dear friends that the 'Port–Royal's – "Roliga Timmen [Longing Machines] - Dergar "Fraternity" Reinterpretation' will be included in the Special Vinyl Edition of "Afraid To Dance", that is going to be Released in spring by the amazing "Valeot Records"!

My heart is dancing with this song from the beginning! The journey [that is the final treasure its self] of this re-interpretation has been and still is a marvel!

Many thanks to my beloved brothers the Port-Royal and especially Attilio, my true soul brother! A debut physical release like this will never fail to keep my heart and soul absolutely blissful, touched, honored and thankful.

Many thanks to Alex and all the amazing kids of "Valeot Records" for the special vinyl edition of "Afraid To Dance" that hosts my version.

Many thanks to the amazing Lyn Dobson, ex Manfred Man and Soft Machine member and great session musician and singer for his contribution in my Roliga Timmen (Longing Machines) version with his flute!

Many thanks to Tim Ingham [Winterlight-Lightsway] for his lovely support and his so touchy comment when first my remix was posted on myspace and besides Stefano [Dedo], Kouichi [Cheekbone] and all the amazing friends that have inspired me a lot with their beautiful remixes for Port-Royal. Many thanks to all my friends on myspace and to my family and beloved friends here in my town, as well as Katja for collaborating with me in my forthcoming debut album and all the kids in Athens and Thessaloniki.

Many thanks to David – Chameleon Jersey that has been a true soul brother, helping me to keep faith and stay centered, this period of hectic schedule, with his great friendship and fraternal support.

The original song is already a philosophical enlightenment. I tried to emphasize to the idea of fraternity between all people of the world and the inculcation of this idea in children's longings as I have already stated in my previous blog.

The recording of the kids has taken place in the very yard that I was playing in primary school and my mother was teaching. Of course this song is dedicated to her as well as to all the people of this world!

Many thanks to my friend Manolis for restoring my old pure classical guitar that has played an important role in the remix and my music in general the last two years!

Up Roliga Timmen, Port-Royal, Valeot Records, Fraternity, Forever!

What I feel can be described in two words: "True Bliss"!

My dear all brothers and sisters, tnank you in advance for listening and leaving your comments about that remix if you wish and please excuse me that i cannot afford the time to answer to you all as my Open University work is chasing me like the donkey is chasing the carrot :)

Words cannot tell how much and how truly moved, thankful, inspired and happy I come out  from this work!

I don't know if one can truly come near the stunning quality of the original… I hope I have slightly approached its beauty!

Surely that was a teaching procedure! These kids from Genova have been the greatest influence for me since "Flares"! Not only because of their certain marvelous composition, technical perfection and innovative sound but mostly because of their deep feeling and wisdom! They have all my fraternal love forever! EUFF, my beloved bro Atti!!!

There are maybe a few small mistakes in my mix but I think I kind of like them. The WAV file is sounding so much better though! That was my first remix ever and I have been working for that since last September in within hectic Open University work. I have learned so much just from the first listen of the separate tracks given by the amazing fratelli. I have got very confused working with my old ThinkPad with the 12 GB of free internal disc storage and the 1.4GHz Centrino CPU, making more that 70 sequences and even more exports. But finally I think that I have approached the fraternal feeling that I wanted to give in my remix. I have been trying hard not to get far from the original in its philosophy. Hard task. But I am so happy I got where I managed to get.

The elements:

A primary school break sample [uncut part of a 10 minutes real time recording during the break] with kids playing recorded in the very yard where my beloved mother have been teaching and I have been playing, is going through the whole track. There are some small samples from another school in the area I live. My classical guitar has played some roles too. Several synthesizers and so on… Plus: a very good friend and brilliant saxophonist, flutist, sitar player and vocalist have played the flute. It is Lyn Dobson, ex member of Manfred Mans Earth Band and Soft Machine who lives in my town and we are going to make an ambient album together. Thank you Lyn! Some vocals have also been made by me.

The main idea:

Well, the original title is about kids, their fun and teamwork, their dreams and longings! Except this great wisdom of the original lyrics [they are great bro Atti, absolutely great!] I wanted to give in my interpretation the character of a hymn and express all my fraternal support to all the kids of the world. I dreamed about inculcating the ideas of fraternity, love and peace and respect to Mother Nature in all of their longings and activities. May they live in a better world. EUFF & TPUAA kids...   :)

Thank you my beloved Port-Royal FRATELLI!

EUFF – TPUAA & RTFF

Fratello Chris

PS: Some explanations:

EUFF: Easy & Up & Fraternity Forever

TPUAA: A special protective fraternal umbrella against boilling stuff  :)

RTFF: Roliga Timmen Fraternity Forever [I have to add "Longing Machines so it should be:
