.. .. .. .. .. .. ....

We remember.  Not a good month usually.  Lots of rain.  On the upside, it is mandatory to watch V For Vendetta at least twice.  And there will be fireworks, oh yes.  And hot wine.  N....

AIR FRANCE’s remix of St Etienne has pulled 1000s of hits at www.TheLineOfBestFit.com .  Those fine TLOBF chaps are hosting a lot of SIC related hoo ha in the run up to Xmas.  Air France might be coming to the UK next month.  So look out for details.   ....

THE SILENT LEAGUE’s awesomely beautiful new album But You Were Always The Care Taker is available now, via iTunes and exclusively in Rough Trade as  a 2CD fat digipack luxury thing with a 2nd CD of remixes (inc Neon Indian, Helado Negro), covers (ELO and Alicia Keys) and rarities. Get it here.  http://tiny.cc/wDn2N....

Both The Silent League and The Rest are due some play from Mark Radcliffe this week.  PLEASE DROP HIM AN EMAIL:  radcliffe.maconie@bbc.co.uk and tell him how much you love them.  And him.  And us.....

THE REST got a spin from Huw Stephens too last week. Lovely man.  We are going down to his free night at The Social next Tuesday.  Check out this video: The Rest - The Lady Vanishes - http://iLike.com/t/KQUO.  Using old footage of Hitchcock’s The Lady Vanishes to great effect:  clever.....

THE GAY BLADES are rolling out across the USA with Electric Six and are nudging 250 shows this year.  Will they go mad?  We will have to see, won’t we.....

MEMORY TAPES’ Seek Magic gets a full release next week and should be available everywhere.  Lots of press and stuff coming and we are going to debut a new version of Graphics next week to set it off.   Look for it online next week.  Did you grab his Halloween track Walk Me Home?  It’s a tribute to John Carpenter’s horror soundtracks and it is particularly amazing.....

What else?....

Oh yes, ILL FIT returns at The Social Nov 17th.  Desolation Wilderness, The Rayographs, Victoria and Jacob all live and ILL FIT DJs working the machines.  Join in here:  http://tiny.cc/IuCVQ....

Current mood:  busy
October is a bit of a blur already

Right then.  We are getting set for the full release of MEMORY TAPES album on Nov 16th.  Go buy it, it is completely awesome, that is all.  Except it isnt.  Pitchfork and Gorilla vs Bear are hosting M Tapes' brand new tune, Walk Me Home, a free 17 minute Halloween special, a tribute to John Carpenter's horror soundtracks(http://pitchfork...com/forkcast/13506-walk-me-..home/).    Theres also a new remix of Midnight Juggernauts floating about at the mo, so grab that too.
You can, if you are very quick get AIR FRANCE's St Etienne remix, taken from Saint Etienne’s “Foxbase Beta Club Promo”, a 4-track 12″, out now via Heavenly Records. Order here.   THE SILENT LEAGUE's albums have arrived.  They look amazing.  You can get them very shortly at Rough Trade.  THE GAY BLADES have delivered some AMAZING new tunes for album 2.  Really though.  Amazing.  And we are just about recovered from THE REST's weeklong trip here.  Three amazing shows, a win on Lamcq's Rebel Playlist and some excellent wee movies in the can.  Good work, kids Canadian.  The album is available exclusively in Rough Trade for now (http://www.roughtrade.com/..site/shop_detail.lasso?search_..type=sku&sku=319896) at a low price of £1.99 for now.  The first batch sold out in 2 days.  So be quick cos the price is rising.  We also launched ILL FIT at The Social this week, and a star studded gala opening it was too, Gavin (but not Stacey), Rhy Ifans, Supergrass, Daisy Lowe, Pearl Lowe, Steve Lamacq, oh andf one of Girls Aloud and many more besides checked out our stuff.  And we had serious all day hangovers on wednesday.  And we earned them.
If you are nearby go check out Huw Stephen's Swn festival in Cardiff.
And, this week alone we have heard 3 amazing new bands that we'd be honoured to have on SIC in Oh-ten.  So we best throw down some record contracts.

The MEMORY TAPES album is flying out through the Rough Trade Shops.  It is getting a wider releas in November.   We have some tricks up our sleeves for this record so watch out.  THE GAY BLADES are demoing album #2.  It is going to be bigger, badder and way more intense.  You heard it.

THE SILENT LEAGUE are about to announce some very cool collaborations and we'll have advance deluxe 2CD copies of the awe-inspiring 3rd LP. But You've Always Been The Caretaker in our mitts soon.  Very soon.

THE REST are weighing their Canadian luggage and getting ready to hit London next month. Their album, Everyone All At Once is available for pre-order http://tiny.cc/f7H8h and the first 50 copies are 99p. the next 50 are £1.99.  So move quickly.  Be at their debut UK show 12.10.09, an ILL FIT night at OBL with the incredible Sebastien Schuller.  AIR FRANCE will be releasing a REALLY very split 12" with St ETIENNE very soon.

And we'd just like to say that there are a whole slew of ace albums out there at the mo.  We are listneig to albums again, not odd tracks here and there.  Shouts very much out to THE CRIBS, GIRLS, ATLAS SOUND, FUCK BUTTONS, SMD, THE REST, FOL CHEN, HEALTH, KURT VILE, MUSIC GO MUSIC, SEBASTIEN SCHULLER, THE SILENT LEAGUE, MEMORY TAPES, JJ, MINIATURE TIGERS.

Current mood:  indescribable
Make your mind up, weather pixies. So, Latitude festival was kind of fun, Grace Jones and Thom Yorke were highlights and that rave we went to in the forest was kind of fun too. As raves in forests go.

THE SILENT LEAGUE have posted two remixes up on www.myspace.com/silentleague. Have a listen. They are bold and mental and brilliant. MEMORY TAPES has been spreading further thru the internets with a lot of love from www.Rcrdlbl.com this week. Bicycle drops on August 10th as a limited 12inch. Pre-order it from Rough Trade http://tiny.cc/o8jWL and, in fact, you can pre-rder the album there too.

AIR FRANCE are on holiday. Why aren't we? Good question. THE GAY BLADES Euro mini-tour is all booked now and kicks off Aug 19th in Amsterdam.

THE REST have has an idea so cunning for their album that it makes my eyes curl. Watch this space. Oh yeah, we posted a bunch of new stuff up at myspace.com/..somethinginconstruction.

And in non-SIC bands news, we are wholeheartedly endorsing YACHT, JJ and MINIATURE TIGERS this week. Go check 'em out.
