If I was an arrogant man, I would quote Philip 'big man' Sherburne and say that you should've already checked 'the always-reliable Tape for a killer and dizzyingly comprehensive Top 100 list', but I won't. Ahem. You're probably not interested in all this end of year listmaking rubbish, but it's been such a good year for innovative electronic music in many different styles. Dubstep and modern electronic disco sounds are on the up, which is great of course, but there's been so many amazing house/techno records this year as well. 2006 almost seemed like the year that a lot of producers were focusing on satisfying both the head and the feet. Having said that, there were some fucking shit ones as well - naming no names, of course. Basically, buy any of the records I've listed below and you won't be disappointed. Support your local and all that jazz.
