If you read my regular blog, you know I'm in another play.  It's a musical called Quilters and it's going to be amazing!  Stay tuned for more info, or go to my blog, Snapshots of Life for posts about the rehearsal process and how things are going.  There may be some rants about me not learning my lines fast enough, though!

One thing I can tell you right now - the music is HARD!  But we'll get it and it's going to be amazing, so all my theatre friends had better come and see the show!

I haven't posted here in quite awhile.  Quick update:

Hamlet went very well.  It was incredible, actually.  I was happy to be a part of it. 

I was recently asked to join the board of directors at the theatre, so I am now the publicity chairperson!  I'm looking forward to jumping right in and really using my skills in public relations to help this theatre that has become a second home for me.

I'm directing and acting in our church musical this Christmas.  It's going to be great.  The story is about a woman who gets too involved in all the Christmas activities to remember what really matters.  I think it's such an important message for us in this modern, busy world.  Sometimes we need to stop and be still.  It is only then that we can truly grow spiritually and get closer to God.

So New Years has come and (almost) gone.  I love the new year.  It's so bright and shiny.  So filled with possibilities.  Every year, I resolve to try something new each month.  It's a great tradition that I started in 2000 and will continue until I run out of new things to try.  (which will be never, of course)

My December 2006 thing was knitting, and let me tell you, it's become an obsession!  Who knows what 2007 will hold... All I know is, it's going to be very interesting.

I forgot to post a message at the end of November to say that NaNoWriMo was finished!  Oh well, if you've been reading my actual blog you would know that, lol.

I did finish this year, just like last year, and it felt great to be able to say I won again.  The novel is nowhere near finished, of course.  50,000 words is not nearly enough to tell the story in my head.  I think it's about halfway done, but then there are some things I'm going to take out, so when it's all said and done, it'll probably be about 75,000 words.  The story is pretty good and it's fun to write, so after taking a long break in December, I'll start back in January, looking at the story with a fresh perspective (and an easier pace!)

So NaNoWriMo starts next month and I'm already starting to prepare.  I love this part.  I'm going to use The Snowflake Method to prepare for my novel, which is something I've never done before.  I'm also writing a genre I've never written before, so it'll be interesting.
