Over at WCSB!!
Can anyone tell me exactly what they're showing on that page? My record ranked tops? For the station, or just one show?
I'm tempted to tell 'em that this record's on Public Eyesore, it's my last one, the Greatest Hits, that's on Discriminate, but then, perhaps I should just leave well enough alone.... (For once!!)

Well this guy doesn't know how to spell or punctuate (at the time of this blog post anyway; maybe he'll fix his numerous errors someday) or how to tell when there's a liner notes error (hint: Lee Hazlewood wrote "These Boots Are Made for Walking", not the song you never heard of before!), but at least he knows when he doesn't "understand" an album of music (direct quote, not scare quotes!)!
Funny how I keep baffling reviewers -- and they even admit it!!! I know it tain't for everyone (which is fine!), but no one but reviewers have expressed being fuckin' baffled by it!! It's just some fricken music (whether you fricken like it or not) for Chrissake!!!
Well he liked a few songs at least, and it's the first review for the CASSETTE version of my new album, put out by The Fox Pop Recording Co. (thanks!) (and sold on my own site, too!), so hell, hats off to this, um, Creative Intersection guy!!
MySpace doesn't seem to like this guy anymore than I do, so you may have to copy & paste to read the review!!

Had a swell time playing on the Local Shakedown yesterday (despite a goddamn broken bass string!!), and then deejaying too!! The archive of the show is available here for two weeks (hey, till Xmas!!). We don't start playing till most of the way through the first hour, so the second hour starts in the middle of our set! Then you get to hear my "local scene" selections and hear me kibbitzing some about them for the remainder....
Of course you can hear me deejay on the radio (most) every 2nd & 4th Saturday on KGNU and thus you can usually hear my most recent show archived there via kgnu.org....
Thanks again to Katherine Peterson for the Shakedown opportunity!!!

Patrick Porter is a longtime friend and fellow obscurist musician, though he's actually gotten released on some labels, mostly Grey Day from Portland. Here's what he had to say about my new CD: "i have been listening to PEACE IS BORING and it's a good one,
yes. it's a darker one, somehow. i mean like feelings of mortality
creeping in. a sort of more pronounced seriousness. my favorite song
is 'bummer scene' the crusin one. there's a real eeriness to it. it
reminds me of denver too. like denver stoplites. and the feeling i
get when i'm in denver sometimes.
anyway i ain't an album reviewer critic sort of guy so it's hard
to put it into words. but i like the whole album and i have been
listening to it a lot out here in the weirdlands. just so ya know."
Ha, ha. As if anyone critic ever would or could be so eloquent. I think the very act of trying to write for the public record kinda perverts the whole process of hearing what's on a record and flips it on its head. Plus Patrick, well he's rather a pure soul, you should check out his music too, if you can! I play it on my radio show occasionally, even though it's so much softer and more tuneful than most anything else I play on it....
Thanks, Patrick!!
