Jerry Hannan Band Emerges At Bonnaroo Featuring Cody Dickenson, John Molo, John Avila, and Steve Molitz!

Jerry Hannan is an American singer/songwriter with influences ranging from Cat Stevens to Bob Dylan.  His most recent collection of songs includes performances by Jim Dickinson, John Molo, Cody & Luther Dickinson, Jackie Green, and Steve Molitz among others.  Ranging from Americana, to Roots Rock, and Country, Jerry’s appeal stretches across many genres and his live performances are known to be charismatic and compelling.  He has uncanny storytelling ability and his delivery is both powerful and unique.  Jerry wrote and recorded the hit song from Into the Wild  “Society” with Eddie Vedder which has been covered on You Tube over 100 times.  Although Jerry has worked with a number of notable musicians and actors, he has yet to officially release an album of solo material.  His breadth of songs has an amazing range from the rootsy “EGBA” to the swinging country of “ABC Song” and the melodic “Sandcastle”.

The Jerry Hannan Band will make its inaugural appearance at The Bonnaroo Music Festival on June 13 in the Troo Music Tent at 6:30pm backed by an All-Star band including Cody Dickinson, John Molo, John Avila, and Steve Molitz.

JERRY HANNAN SET TO CELEBRATE THE RELEASE OF WILD CARD  WITH A FULL BAND CONCERT AT RANCHO NICASIO ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 8

CD Release Party to highlight tunes from the new record, including "Society," the song covered by Eddie Vedder on the soundtrack to Sean Penn's film, Into the Wild

MARIN COUNTY, CA. - Known to Bay Area music fans as a raucous rock performer with a knack for compelling melodies and hilarious turns of phrase, singer/songwriter Jerry Hannan is set to mark a new chapter in his career with the release of his new record, Wild Card.

Over the past decade, Hannan has earned a reputation as an always-entertaining live performer whose songs veer from powerful to poetic to humorous without missing a beat. With standout songs such as "Society," "Sand Castle" and "Peaceful World," though, this 10-track tour de force is the best document to date of his talents as a storytelling songwriter in the tradition of John Prine and Bruce Springsteen.

Recently, Hannan recorded his own song, "Society," with Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder for the soundtrack to the Sean Penn film Into the Wild. The song set the tone for the rest of the album.

"My earlier records reflected the carefree nature of life in Marin. But in the past few years, I've been traveling and seeing a bit more of the world... including the poverty in Africa."

Hannan says those experiences influenced the point of view his new material which deals with a wide range of issues including ecology, friendship, love, and what he calls an backward society.

"The world feels different than it did a decade ago. It's more serious. So when I went into the studio this time, the songs that came out were a bit more introspective and less... ridiculous!"

Recorded at The Plant, the legendary Sausalito studio where countless historic albums, including Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, have come to life, Wild Card, marks Hannan's first truly "un-plugged" solo record.

On August 8 at Rancho Nicasio, Hannan will be bringing those songs to life on stage with the help of his band, the Brigade: guitarist Chris Haugen, bassist Joshua Zucker and drummer Adam "Bagel" Berkowitz.

The Wild Card CD Release Party featuring Jerry Hannan and The Brigade begins at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8. Rancho Nicasio is located 1 Old Rancheria Road, Nicasio, California 94946. Tickets to the concert are $10 and $12. For more information, visit call (415) 662-2219, email ranchoinfo@ranchonicasio.com or visit http://www.ranchonicasio.com/
