With a decade of musical adventuring under her belt
Lauren Flax has played every major city in America and most across the Atlantic as
well. Her keen knack for reading crowds is unmatched- her eclectic taste in
dance music invariably manages to get everyone in the room moving. It's
clear how much fun Lauren has when she plays, and how much she enjoys her
sets. Her energy is infectious and nobody could ever accuse her of treating
music like a "job".

She has collaborated with everyone from Fischerspooner to Internationally
known singer Sia, best known for her work with Zero 7.  Lauren was born and
raised in the city of Detroit birthplace of Motown and Techno and has shared
the stage with an amazing array of talent: DJ Heather, Disco D, Carl Craig,
Jungle Brothers, Green Velvet, Derrek May, Kevin Saunderson...the list goes
on and on. Lauren also recently DJ'd for none other than Madonna on the Hard
Candy TV Special featured on the Fuse music channel. (In fact, Madonna
stopped in to see her at her Williamsburg show with Fischerspooner)  She has
also been busy remixing for friends such as Le Tigre, MEN (ex Le Tigre band
member JD Samsons band), Telepathe, Fischerspooner, and Morningwood and they
are just a few examples of bands she has under her belt in that arena. Most
recently her remix of HEARTSREVOLUTION's C.Y.O.A! was released on
iHEARTCOMIX and Urb Next 100 picks Lauren as a top contender for success in
2009.

Lauren's compositions are becoming much more visible and known in the dance
community, even though she has most often worked on film and television
scores. Recently she released on indie label Djs Are Not Rockstars, her
first single titled "You've Changed" which enlists the vocals of Sia (zero7)
with remixes by Larry Tee, Alexander Technique, Junior Sanchez , Dre Skull
and more. Annie Mac, of BBC Radio 1, has shown early support and Australian
dance label, One Love, plans for a Fall 2009 release to concede with Sia's
homecoming tour down under. She's also been in the studio collaborating with
Epic Records recording artist, Oh Land and Kelly Scarr, who recently was on
tour with Moby.

Expect much more to come from Lauren Flax, as she continues work in the
studio on her first solo album and in addition to her solo dates, DJ's for
Fischerspooner around the world throughout 2009 and 2010.
