Hi boys and girls,

here's my new contact info since my 10 glorious years with "314-477-5718" is now coming to a sad sad end...or at least, my Mom is taking my phone so no more booty-call answering machine messages (hint hint Dr. LB)

Here's the phone lines where you can find me:

Warren Ave: 508.747.0253 (hint: I live here therefore, call this first!)
Yellow House: 508.746.4599
Blue Blinds Bakery: 508.747.0462

If you should be stuck by the fancy to write me (as I hope you do):

Theresa Profeta
35 Warren Ave
Plymouth, MA 02360

and there's still email and facebook of course, but I get the interweb few and far between these days, so snailmail would actually be quicker frankly and much more heartfelt.

p.s. PORTLAND PEEPS!!! I'll be sailing, yes, SAILING into the land of Ports at the end of this month, so keep your eyes peeled for the Peacemaker ship being docked in our great city of cities! July 31st-Aug 5th, come abroad mates!
Sunday, June 07, 2009

I sailed for 10 hours from Newport, RI to New Bedford, MA on Wednesday on the Peacemaker Marine. We fished, catching 4 sharks and 2 large scaled fish (which we promptly chopped the heads off and ate), we swam in the open ocean and I even tossed my cookies for a little bit before sun bathing on the main deck. I'm so grateful to have this life.

Peacemaker Marine: this is my ship...how cool is that?!?!

Sorry for being lame and not writing. Life just doesn't allow me time these days.

Someday I will have a Shabbat which I will use for the good for uploading and editing photos for ya'll. Until then, you'll just have to come visit me and see the photos in person!

Ok, bed time!

shit it's been awhile.

it's like trying to ride a bike after 10 years of not riding..you're probably going to fall flat on your face if you're not extra careful. I'm not happy with this computer's typing-to-words-appearing-on-the-screen-rate so I am going to switch puters... hold please.

alright, much better.

I'm really happy to be back in New England. I missed the air, the trees, the water the seagulls who are assholes and poop all over you, the bad drivers who ignore pedestrians, the idiot tourists who walk around throwing their starbucks cups on the ground, but mostly I missed the communities here and the beautiful people who live in them. meeting new people was great and I loved ever minute I spent making new friendships and learning how different yet the same we all are as people, how amazingly brave these people are in giving up their everyday mundane lives to live in the reality (and not just the lofty dream) of becoming a better person every single day, every moment of the day. To put aside their selfish, self-centered ways of thinking and to pick up loving and caring as their default settings...and that this happens all over the world, not just in Warsaw, Valley Center, Boston, Plymouth, Chatanooga, etc... It gives me such hope to know there are people in Germany, Canada, Austraila, France, England, Brazil, etc etc etc who would put me up and feed, clothe and love me... how encouraging to the soul, to know that humanity still lives in some humans.

I have 450 photos to edit and frankly, I'm getting tattooed in about 2 hours, so I just can't post them right now, but I am going to be working on them for the next 10 days and will hopefully have them ALL up before the 15th of May.

So here's the deal with my whole living situation... I'm in Plymouth, Mass... just a short 2 1/2 hour drive from Portland. I'm going to be working in the Blue Blinds Bakery, learning how to bake artisian breads (and get into peach empenada fights in the wee hours of the morning with jerks* who like to insult my empenada making skills....*see photo below) I'm pretty much going to be in Portland every so often over the summer, but I think for the most part, Plymouth is where my heart is at the moment and I'm going with that pull.

I would say the jerk with the beard, but they all have beards....damn. stolen from the Boston Globe

I'm handing over Intern Corr. to Kirk at the Bakery (Photographic Collective) and so this is a bittersweet month for me. I love the Bakery and it has done much to develop me as a photographer and I'm eternally grateful, but sometimes life pulls you too far way to keep holding on to the places and people you've grown so comfortable with, so I'm sadly stepping down. However, I'm more than just a little excited to admit this summer looks like it's going to be epic in many life-altering ways and I'm scared shitless and extremely grateful all at the same time.

I still have my cell, so people are welcome to drop a line and since it's a flippin' beautiful giant house I live in, there's more than just a little room for visitors.

Taken last year when I first visited in Feb of 2008...

In the meantime, write, call, visit and let me know how you are all doing via something besides facebook, myspace, lj...the interwebs...since internet access is unreliable at best. I'll do my best to find a computer here and there too so I can keep you updated on my adventures.

Much love until we speak again.

Hello friends! I'm in Manitou Springs, Colorado, sitting in the kitchen, looking at the top of Pike's Peak, watching some deer eat their breakfast on the mountain side.

I've only got a moment since I need to help make some fresh beet, apple and carrot juice, but I just wanted to say hello from the rocky mountains.

Tomorrow Tara and I leave for Warrsaw, Missouri and by Saturday I will be in Greencastle, Indiana with my parents for the full update in both words and photos.

Can you say "life-changing-experience"??

Until Saturday!!

Love,
    Tea xoxoxo

Current mood:  stoked
Tomorrow Missouri.
Thursday Colorado.
Monday California...for 2 weeks.

then Colorado, Missouri and Indiana yet again.

I picked up a extra memory card, more film, sunscreen and shaved my legs.

(A girl has got to be ready for skirts)

I'm nervous about tomorrow but after talking with Kellayh, I'm a little less so...however, I have my reserves since I do have a tendency to be shy with new people.

Saying good bye to pork until April...oh how I shall miss you, the candy of meats!

See you kids whenever I find the interweb again.

Currently watching:
Seinfeld - Season 9
Release date: 2007-11-06

I played a Disney Trivia game after dinner tonight with Ashley, Phil, Ellen and Shade and I was shocked and slightly embarrassed at how much I remembered from my years of Disney saturation during my childhood.

It's not normal to remember the name from the lead character in the Rescuers Down Under...oh Jake the Kangaroo Rat, you were so sexy...(and still are)

Evidently, everyone and everything in Nashville is named Jackson.  Odd, I know.

The folks are very friendly here and it's very nice to see Ashley in such a great place in life (with Phil and her new house!) and Erin is plugging along being Erin. I'm hanging out today working on hair combs and knitting since everyone is at work, but it's no sweat since these are things I needed to take care of and I certainly appreciate being able to be productive even on my  "vacation" leg of my trip.

I'm missing Maine a little, but the weather here is fabulous and no I'm not going to complain.

I also miss Ratimus.  Life is alot less snuggly with him not being here to cuddle and kiss.

Ok, back to work. See you back in Indiana in a few days, then off to Mis(ery)souri.

Whenever I played Oregon Trail as a child, someone always died. I feel as if I've fallen into some terrible real life version of that with Ratimus as my fallen co-pilot. How many more people need to  die before this trip is over? Watch my wagon axels break now. Ugggggggh, this is incredibily despairing.

Yesterday I emptied my van of all  my world possessions and cleaned it from top to bottom, learning how to change my headlights, jack the van and change the tire. Grease was all over me and my whole body was sore, but it felt good to feel something other than sad.  Plus, it was 73º and it felt very refreshing to be crawling around my van in shorts and flipflops after wool coats and snow boots for the last 5 months.

Today  I slept in (thanks for robbing me of my precious sleep, day light savings time--you filthy bastard) then sorted through all my belongings with Seinfeld and thunderstorms as background noise.

Tomorrow I go down to Nashville to visit Ashley & Erin. I'm excited to see my dear friends and Ashley, now great with child, will be a special treat!

Alright, I gotta call Ashley, sort through more of my shit then attempt to sleep  before 1 am. Goodnight my lovelies.

I loved you with all my heart, my dear Ratimus.

Current mood:  confused

So I am getting a Civil War tattoo... since this year marks my 9th year in the North. Between my birth and 10 years in the South and my most recent near decade in the North, I figure it's pretty appropriate considering my heritage....and nerdness for history.

I want your opinion. I was considering just random soldiers, however the more I think about it, the more I want actual famous folks from the War.

here's who I'm considering from the North:

Joshua Chamberlain (from Maine!)

William T Sherman

and of course

Honest Abe Lincoln

here's who I'm considering from the South:

Jefferson Davis

Bobby E Lee

or

Stonewall Jackson

Whacha think? Opinions? Comments?

(I'm leaning towards Sherman and Lee...but I know, they all have appeal!)
