shit it's been awhile.
it's like trying to ride a bike after 10 years of not riding..you're probably going to fall flat on your face if you're not extra careful. I'm not happy with this computer's typing-to-words-appearing-on-the-screen-rate so I am going to switch puters... hold please.
alright, much better.
I'm really happy to be back in New England. I missed the air, the trees, the water the seagulls who are assholes and poop all over you, the bad drivers who ignore pedestrians, the idiot tourists who walk around throwing their starbucks cups on the ground, but mostly I missed the communities here and the beautiful people who live in them. meeting new people was great and I loved ever minute I spent making new friendships and learning how different yet the same we all are as people, how amazingly brave these people are in giving up their everyday mundane lives to live in the reality (and not just the lofty dream) of becoming a better person every single day, every moment of the day. To put aside their selfish, self-centered ways of thinking and to pick up loving and caring as their default settings...and that this happens all over the world, not just in Warsaw, Valley Center, Boston, Plymouth, Chatanooga, etc... It gives me such hope to know there are people in Germany, Canada, Austraila, France, England, Brazil, etc etc etc who would put me up and feed, clothe and love me... how encouraging to the soul, to know that humanity still lives in some humans.
I have 450 photos to edit and frankly, I'm getting tattooed in about 2 hours, so I just can't post them right now, but I am going to be working on them for the next 10 days and will hopefully have them ALL up before the 15th of May.
So here's the deal with my whole living situation... I'm in Plymouth, Mass... just a short 2 1/2 hour drive from Portland. I'm going to be working in the Blue Blinds Bakery, learning how to bake artisian breads (and get into peach empenada fights in the wee hours of the morning with jerks* who like to insult my empenada making skills....*see photo below) I'm pretty much going to be in Portland every so often over the summer, but I think for the most part, Plymouth is where my heart is at the moment and I'm going with that pull.

I would say the jerk with the beard, but they all have beards....damn. stolen from the Boston Globe
I'm handing over Intern Corr. to Kirk at the Bakery (Photographic Collective) and so this is a bittersweet month for me. I love the Bakery and it has done much to develop me as a photographer and I'm eternally grateful, but sometimes life pulls you too far way to keep holding on to the places and people you've grown so comfortable with, so I'm sadly stepping down. However, I'm more than just a little excited to admit this summer looks like it's going to be epic in many life-altering ways and I'm scared shitless and extremely grateful all at the same time.
I still have my cell, so people are welcome to drop a line and since it's a flippin' beautiful giant house I live in, there's more than just a little room for visitors.

Taken last year when I first visited in Feb of 2008...
In the meantime, write, call, visit and let me know how you are all doing via something besides facebook, myspace, lj...the interwebs...since internet access is unreliable at best. I'll do my best to find a computer here and there too so I can keep you updated on my adventures.
Much love until we speak again.
