Current mood:Still Jetlagged :/

2008 Stuff.....

here are some of the projects i've been working on since the last blog post:

KAYA PROJECT & HIBERNATION ALBUMS - both scheduled for September Release!!

Unbelievable that they should reach the final mastering stage at the same time. Considering I haven't released an album for 3 years.

Kaya Project (3rd Album - '...& So It Goes') keeping it Real, Worldy & Organic
Hibernation (Debut Album - 'Some Things Never Change') keeping it Experimental, Glitchy & Electronic.

Definitely the best 2 albums i've produced IMO.

Keep an eye out on Interchill & Aleph Zero Records. Preview tunes are up in the myspace player now.

Nice Lava Lamp:).......Mastering the 3rd Kaya Project Album with Dave Blackman @ HiltonGrove Mastering.

COMPILATIONS: Ministry Of Sound, Buddha Bar X Compilations etc....

I've had a few tracks included on new & forthcoming Compilations from the likes of Ministry Of Sound, Below Zero, Buddha Bar, Ball of Waxx....

& donated a couple of tracks for a very special benefit compilation 'Healing Ananda' . Compiled by Gus Till & available now!

Digitalis - 'Dealing With It' & Karton 'Mugstar' w/ Remixes.

Very happy to have some of my Digitalis Breakbeat Tracks released on Swedish Label SOUND OF HABIB.
I've been a big fan of their sound for ages. Also did a remix swap with Australian Artists 'Karton'.
out now in Digital & soon to be released on Vinyl as a 4 track E.P.

Some nice reviews in iDJ Magazine, M8, ATM......

Been developing a great working relationship with Canadian Production Music company Soundtrax.

That has resulted in me composing some original music for the following titles:
(Lots of extreme snowboarding & Stunt biking here:)

Burton Snowboards - Thanks In Advance

Smackdown - New World Disorder 8

Burton Snowboards - It's Always Snowing Somewhere

Soundtrax were also responsible for placing the Kaya Project Track 'Ghasi Ram Blues' in the Film 'Let it Ride'.

& finally

I don't do that many gigs these days - generally prefer to be in the studio - but the recent Australia gigs were wicked! Got to spend some time with old friends down in Melbourne & played a couple of DJ sets at the Tribeadelic 12 year birthday party. (Happy Birthday Ozzy!!!)

& then up to Cairns for one of the best festivals i've ever had the pleasure of playing at, What a great bunch of people & an awesome festival vibe. (Thankyou Waz, Sol, Aimee & the entire Solstice Crew)

If only the long haul flight & Jet Lag weren't such a nightmare. - Reminded me exactly why i don't do it more often.

It's been a while since my last update (Haven't had much time for myspace recently) so here goes:

JAPAN!
A big shout out to all our friends in Japan. We had an amazing time over there doing a couple of KAYA PROJECT live shows & I played some SHAKTA Sets as well....heres some pics of the gigs (taken at YOGAJAYA & PSYKICK SCRAMBLE)

& talking of japan, the bbc film I scored has just picked a couple more awards, 1 from the japan wildlife film festival, the other from the highly regarded Jackson Hole festival in the US.

it's also just been released on DVD as part of the natural world. available at amazon.

ANNODALLEB remix cd RE-RELEASE!

Los Angeles Noise Merchants ANNODALLEB re-release the DAath REMIX CD on METROPOLIS records via NEGATIVE 3. Was great fun working on this one (I provided a few of the remixes) & features reworkings by HALLUCINOGEN, MANMADEMAN, OTTO VON SHIRACH, DIGITALIS, EFM...covering a broad spectrum of Dark Electronica - Industrial, Trance, Breaks, Glitch-Dub-Darkstep, etc....... check out the Fanky Malloon Secret track at the end of the CD...'cos thats where it's really at;)

Natasha & I were approached by the above Label (Negative 3) to write a full Album & it's coming along nicely. The Act name is SUBTERFUGE & it's wicked having an opportunity to explore some fresh musical territory. Will definitley start up a dedicated myspace page for the project when it's completed. Watch this space.

Aleph Zero release the eagerly awaited MIDNIGHT SOUL DIVE compilation.
Featuring some cutting edge Glitched up Downbeat & Dreamy Chillout from the artist such as:
SHULMAN, BLUTECH, RENA JONES. Top Quality release!

My track on the comp: "MELT' by HIBERNATION is a taster of the HIBERNATION ALBUM which I've been working on for a while now. It's due to surface on Aleph Zero Records in the not too distant. Will post up some preview tracks sooooooon.

AD work.
Yes, Bill Hicks would be spinning in his Grave.....but I've been selling some of my soul to the corporate devil:)
Recently composed the music for DELL Computers & Capital One Commercials.

UPCOMING BREAKBEAT RELEASES:

Got a great response from my recent Breakbeat releases considering it's a style I haven't produced for quite a while now. both the DIGITALIS & EIGHT:BALL releases (on Sinister & Point Red) both popped into the beatport & trackitdown DOWNLOAD top 10s:, & the vinyls sold niceley:) so theres a few more lined up for imminent release:

on BALL OF WAXX - Digitalis Remix of DATABENT 'Ana'. (John Kelley & Brian Saitzyk)

A Few of these tunes have already been aired on BBC RADIO ONE during Introspectives' guest mix on the Annie Nightingale Show,
