ODDITY CINEMA MAGAZINE ISSUE ..2
We have been losing sleep over the next issue of OCM because we might not be able to fit all the great content that we want into the magazine (good thing we got that blog). If all goes as planned, we will have it ready for download at the beginning of November. We are introducing a few new features and some permanent columns to get ourselves a little more organized within the pages. Since the digital PDF format allows for tons of interactivity, we are also figuring out how to maximize the potential of the magazine with tons more media rich content. Should be very tasty and chock full of bloody good times when we do.

SOME OF THIS WEEKS NEW RELEASES
CLEAN SHAVEN $26.39 USD

The Criterion Collection has put out a stunning high definition transfer of the film from the original 35mm negative and the disc features a commentary with Kerrigan, moderated by Steven Soderberg, a new video piece written and narrated by critic Michael Atkinson exploring the film's unique subjectivity and sound design, the film's original soundtrack and an essay by critic Dennis Lim.

FEAST $25.19 USD
Project Greenlight, the brainchild of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, in association with Wes Craven have released the first horror film to be a part of the competition. John Gulager (obviously related to Return of the Living Dead's Clu Gulager who stars) directs this story about a group of patrons in a small-town bar who must fight for their lives after a government experiment unleashes a family of flesh hunger creatures who stop by for a bite. The DVD features deleted scenes, a making of featurette, outtakes and more.

Available on DVD as a bootleg from who knows where, grindhouse director Frank Henenlotter's (Basket Case, Brain Damage) underground cult fave has finally received an official release through Unearthed Films. James Lorinz puts in a hilarious performance as Jeffrey Franken, a aspiring mad scientist who must reconstruct his girlfriend, a la Frankenstein Monster, after one of his inventions accidentally rips her to shreads. Finding the perfect 'parts' among a group of cracked out hookers, his patchwork girlfriend ends up tricking herself out, screwing everyone she meets... until they explode. Fun for the whole family.

Olaf Ittenbach is back in the director's chair after his stint doing special effects on Uwe Bull's latest crap-fest Bloodrayne. This time out, Ittenbach returns to his gory roots with HOUSE OF BLOOD, a blood soaked horror film where a group of escaped convicts stumble across a cabin in the woods owned by a bunch of devil-worshipping backwood hicks. Torture, possession and a whole lot of maiming ensues.

X-Files writer and executive producer John Shiban directs this story of Nicole and Jess, two runaways on their way to Hollywood who make the mistake of stopping at an old abandoned rest stop, which just happens to be the hunting ground for a sadistic murderer. The nightmare is just starting when Jess disappears and Nicole is forced to contend against the murderous maniac and his cruel games of torture all by herself.
