So tonight I was at downdog yoga in Georgetown and I participated in a "masters" yoga class. Gregor Singleton was teaching. Right now I feel happy because I could feel the good energy from all the people there who were happy to see me and be in that great space practicing together. It may sound simplistic but it really feels good to know you are appreciated and loved by others. I wasn't as strong in my practice as I was about a year ago when I was on the Grand Canyon but I got the feeling that with work I can get my body back into that shape. The illness I that climaxed with a hospital stay back in October of '06 really knocked me for a loop. It feels so good to be in a hot sweaty power vinyasa class again. Who cares if I was in childs pose a lot. Certainly not me. I felt like I was getting to that clarity of being in the present moment - for me the haze seems to lift and the world takes on a brightness.

At the end I thanked the two people who practiced next to me and they really liked that aknowledgement. I saw a person that I went on a date with once. She looked good but I felt the fear creeping in. Hmm.... maybe there is something to explore there. She does live closer since she moved. I also saw a couple yoga teachers that I used to teach with. And of course I saw and spoke to Gregor for a bit too.

Well that's it for tonight. I expect that I'll get more philosophical as the weekend progresses. I have another session tomorrow and then another on Sunday.

Namaste,

Rick

Taught the first yoga class in 7 months tonight and it felt good. I'm sure I'll get the good feedback I need from some in the studio but I covered all the poses in the Baptiste flow. I wonder why people are always so willing to give me feedback on my classes?? Hmm... a thought that may require some rigourous self examination...

Landed a new partime job at roadstarinternet as a customer seervice representative. I start in May. It should be a great opportunnity for growth since the company does exactly what I am interested in. (other than yoga) I've never really have had a job that is directly related to my education until now. (MS in Telecommunications)

Anyway that's it for now. If you haven't tried twitter yet ... check it out. Twitter.com

Wow -

I finally have enough energy and health to teach yoga. My fist class in quite a while (since 10/06) is going on in Federick, MD at SOL yoga. on wed evening 4/11. I'm excited about it.

I have been pretty sick most of the fall and winter with ulcerative colitis. I'm still not 100% but am well enough to stress my body out and regain strength. I still have to be careful about eating the right stuff and staying on my medications ( mostly probiotics, and vitamins).

I'm commiting to a walk each morning since the 2 miler I took today has really made me feel good. Besides my black lab Bruno is a bit overweight and he needs the exersize more than I do.

So - send me good energy and when I feel it I'll send the same back to you.

Namaste,

Rick
