Makam Indonesia's legendary,cult old school Folk Black Metal band,you guys are raw as fuck & fucking loyal to this way of life,you experiment a lot & that makes you so damn unique,so guys tell us a brief history about the band & some personal details about your personal life's?

Are you guys on tour lately,because I saw some old flyers of some shows & fests featured on your Myspace page,but thats it I didn't saw any new shows announced,why is that,it makes me furious to see that such a legendary Black Metal act like yours is not playing too often,you deserve that & much more,you guys deserve more fest appearances,good concerts exposure & more local shows as well,tell us more?

Are you guys planning some big tours or mini tours to promote your band across your country these days or not,to me people in your country needs to be more exposed to this kind of Black Metal movement as well as other brutal Metal genres,what can you tell us about all this my friends?

Any plans of touring outside Indonesia to country's like Japan,Spain,Brazil,Colombia & Mexico,people there will kill to go see your amazing band,they are so god damned devoted to raw old school Black Metal,your lyrics,image & all that will blow their minds,I can assure you that,once you guys start playing your experimental Folk Black Metal,heads will be bouncing all across the floors of your shows hahaha,tell us more?

Guys tell us about the over populated Black Metal scenes world wide,what are your thoughts towards this issue,is it good or bad & what makes Makam different from all the fake,stupid bunch that only use the term Black Metal for fashion or to be cool,explain please?

You guys have a couple of demos & 2 releases,one of them the sick,one of a kind,disturbing classic split cd entitled "Hymns For Sacrificed Souls" in which your songs are a total masterpiece,I can't fucking get enough of it,tell us in your own words your thoughts about all your releases,which one is your favorite & why and how has been the reaction of fans when they listen to your releases,etc.?

Tell us about your influences in & out of music,I know you write about nature,daily life,spiritual thoughts/meanings & many other stuff,you vary a lot & thats great to finally dig a cool open minded Black Metal act that doesn't necessarily focuses on Satan,which is cool,but enough is enough,tell us more?

Any plans of releasing a severe kick ass Makam full length very soon or what,fans throughout the world are dying to see you release more albums,specially splits,some LP's,they want to listen to some cover songs of classic Metal anthems & shit like that,what can you say about all this,also what can we expect from your new material & describe your live shows to our readers & your loyal fans out there?

You guys have received lot's of promotion & support from Magazines,radio stations,compilations,different zines & forums as well as on other media throughout the whole world,are you guys fucking proud of all this help & support you are receiving since day one & now more than ever from all the corners of the world specially from die hard Black Metal freaks here at Myspace,to them Makam is religion now,tell us how you will,etc. my friends?

2008 has been a great sick year for Makam,you are working harder than ever,you have played many great Fests,have played with amazing,unique,very cool bands,have been featured everywhere in the media,have taken place in some contests,every damn country knows who Makam is,so whats left to be accomplished as a band or any other dream or stuff you want to see become reality,so tell us whats left to prove in 2008 & in the near future for the band,explain?



1. Alrite here we are! Hellyeargggghhhhhhhhh... Hi i'm Djivo Ratriarkha VII +Julz
Well, such like what u know, last and always in line-up are; Jomboth (G) , Ares
(B), Julious (D) and myself ... .
Makam is our coven-band and as a klan personel we had to share protect and respekt each other. When holidays season or some weekends we gathered at the House of M Klan for any song composes, practises, trance-orgies and make some fun on high ... hahaahaahaarrggh ... Jomboth Androsarkas is a psycho-cyberfreak person and got a job for operating online network 18 hours in a day. Beside as a House-keeper of our chamber, he's also a true "methanol" liquerer ... and of course one of our best jag-shaker which known-well as Tjioe, the wrath. In regulary custom Jomboth seem familiar wrote and composed the songs with Ares. After collecting all material and song chapter we gathered again to concern, reload all over and start jammed for practise in garage studio. Ares was our late add talented bass, skillful but selfish oriented ... dont' u ever heard fairy tale about Jackyl and Hyde? ... hehehehertrtghh he's similiar with
We had been blessed got a percusion guy like Julz, He's an oldskool skinhed person (combatan in regulary life), cyberfreak too, although mostly all straight x skinhed known as an abhore social behaviour but he did well more resposively in soceitas relationship He's our webmaster, myspace online chatz guardian and anything shits about machine of distributions... we called him Kamadath, a pointer.
Well, at least is me ... with hell's perfect job to direct vision. I did responsible on the poet and lyrics, imaging and all visual presentation. I just dedicate my life to be the true oldways. That's all.

2. hahaahhahahhrsgh...Yup,That's damned right ... but unfortunally we're just feel nothing of the nothingness before the vision had been found, there is no simultaneously invade shows. Since late 2000, we also believe that BM visual presentation had been loss their true semantic values. The pure should be not too involved into the massive euphoria or even trapped in the entertainment business anyway coz' our kind are a madness creator it self not horde of slaves. It's one of our commitmen to apreciate and respekt for all visionaries of the Godly Nordics in order we deserve to be honoured in the oldcodes. Thus, BM need more then visual presentation, dude... they must be a massive killer with lethal weapon in the term of messages or vision, without that way BM just seem like a clown armed fake pistol and fire the blank bullet...don't u think so?
But thanx anyway, ...i wanna make sure and let u know when it come, alrite?

3. Yearghh, of course theres is few offers come to us but in any circumstances it depends how's a great idea their had ... and how's a big our will to receive it.
I though BM has big challenge to invade and grasp real power in our country. Don't u know why? ... coz it's a country with most majority population of monotheist inlander and unfortunally at the sametime it citizen addicted of those one. All monotheist confessor in this country had been fulfill their leisure time with exclusively faith junkie. Sometimes i thought that was dickless but real social behaviour. So if u imagine that for BM exposure here ... unfortunally, you shall disappoited coz' only less then half-dozen of our kind which live, survive and rules ... that's why in 2007 we got a honor to be a single coven in my fatherland, Oldways Javanese Pagan ... Our movement had to face a fact that we are live in the frontier, there's a thin enemy lines around us.
Someday i shall brought my vision into the music and spread the energy to reclaimed back our fatherland and be revived our Oldways custom in honor ... and rule once again
4 So far any tour plans was alrite, we just wanna wait and see for make sure whom deal with first coz' in many terms we used any add-players for java-tribal percussions.
I do also really apreciate whatever their interested points for us and ... personally i'd prefer also furious gonna show around South America than our continent. I promise it shall be a gig of terror for mind and souls.
5. ups, sorry. I have no right to judge this issue anyway, just my opinion ... it depends how did their depth of music to be true with their own vision. I do believe phenomena on this issue and i guess it might be a Black Metal Century...hahahahahrgrghrgrhg. Lately I though it just like a virus which easly spreaded, it contamination make sure your life in two options, eliminated or succesfully survival as a new mutant even had loss some human sense. When a band decided put BM in their pattern of music, their had to be true with their own faith or their shall be wrapped off by pax natura , the circle of time.
Of course, there's alot of euphoria rightnow.That's a naturally chained reaction effect of the powerful music genre like BM who had fair freedom right of anything, joyful unlimited negative energy, deliciousity exploration of vengeance....and all opposite role against sickness monotheism morality sucks!!!!
All personel of MAKAM are consist of Javanese Pagan Oldcodes custom-guardian, Cyber proPAGANda tentacles and last but not least The Klan, Our unholy circle of alliance-coven which always supported and commited to be true ... like oldways ourselves for the past, present and future. Hope these blows up population could be one of BM's strength and honor ...
than only looks different craps and freak possers.

6. Truly, last demo 2007 "Mephistonesia" was created just for sample. It's a test for our newest record studios output trial project. Madly, Julz got an idea to put the master would be promoted first while wait in years the full-length materials proceed and done. So be it, then Korean label asked for the split and many more ... fanzine rush ... radios ... oh damned!, how do fuck we can focus back to finished these releases???, we got a busy rushhour in anyshits in couple months, but it's oke ... .

7. I'd prefer Manikmaya ... and Malevolent ... which had a proof-chance for chaotic pulled triggers ... hehehhrerghg. Many listeners in Asia furiously rush-hunted these tracks. I don' have any idea why ... , but it's one of the great apreciates and reaction phenomena had never seen before. Perhaps, some peoples in fanzcluster said that caused by quite fam-oldskool listens with all spells in those lyric chapters. Latest issues around spreaded the rumours that our songs could be harmful for the listeners in to trance conditions, eventhough there'es no any warning and alert reports from the victims and residence police dept so far, but it's truly make it releases been more hunted till ritenow. Furthermore, some peoples look for listen it and the others tried to burn it.
In the point of listenable target, we did succeeded grasp their attentions.

8. uhmmm, influences?... well, in the music we'd comemorate in devotion as our eternal visionaire inspiration such as... the godly VENOM, BATHORY and MAYHEM, DARKTHRONE and SAMAEL. Last but not least as the bestiality mentor of our soul blade riff are The Greek Occult Master ROTTING CHRIST
Out of the music, I got my own vision of it and these come out reflected through our released stuffs. All in lyric writing concepts did use themes and red-tagline of propaganda declaration of war against the monotheism mindset. Revival of paganism into the nature, Naturae Tempus Abire Tibi Est! BM in my opinion had a power and high leadership personal educational which been integrated in the term spirit of combatan. Unfortunally it values some loss in the several newest edition BM crap-bands, but so be it coz' the time shall proof their were deserve to exist or not ... . Revival of paganism and propaganda against all monotheistic dogmas and belief values was urgently required in this millenium coz' their had been failed on this rusty planet. All in his dogma preaches are an abstract, obscured "thing" to manipulate the foolish masses and I hate even the idea of manipulation. All monotheist religions is the hazardous opium of the people!!! take look around the world, what'shell kind creatures are they which claimed each other that their faith of monotheism was most absolutely fukkin'right!!! fuck all confessor! It doesn't matter which one is the religion or which country it come from. It's a mind decadences of mankind's freewill.
Black Metal in my vision should be fulfilled with all union mighty millenium warriors and alliances spirit combatans to rule a whole the world, crush the weaks, burn whitefake and taken over all of soil on earth, ocean in the deep and blue sky and started a new life without states and religions. One of our thin red lines vision is support open fire againts all monotheist religions and recreate awakening of pagan sosial kultur.
Then it mission consist of spreading plagues and diabolic rising terror through our music to full forced attack the weaks.
I shall always do whatever will pass through my brain.

9. yeahhrgh ... but i have no right here to tell you about what we got in record studio coz' it's just been proceed to composed for next release. It's a next continues part II of promo Mephistonesia with 5 newest songs. Based these rushhours condition in the middle of record schedules and keep it focus ... we did sorry coz' no other choices except we had to cancelled and delayed for all gig offers and entrance schedules in 2008.
We just gonna show total expresivelly Revival of Kdjawen Pagan Front for visual presentation and more Javanese folk instrument into the several our musics beats. It necessary to be done coz' it could be one of optional support and salvation ways to save our pagan custom. Based on this will, i do believe it must have been way.
Stay raw pride! ... we shall be ye' guide ... warlord of eternal nite ...

Yearghghgh ... so many hailz but personally, i do really wonder to admire and most apreciate for South America's around devoted ye' country first ... then now, you did make all of this completely perfekta. Hail Our Respektshake, we are nothing of nothingness if surviving without you all amazing devotion supports ... and dedicate it pride just for you all.

11. Well, if there's a chance our band&klan gonna wish make a Black Metal Camp and Pagan World Heritage Fest in my town. It fest camp could be a festival, exibition, hail and greets. But coz' we did hardwork for the releases in a year 2009, We gonna make sure that next year becoming start revival of MahaMakaM, our total exposures!!!

Sebenarnya saya bingung bagaimana memulai surat ini. Pada awalnya saya tertarik untuk mengenal Makam ketika pertama kali melihat website Makam disitu tertulis beberapa tulisan yang saya anggap menarik seperti "more a band we are clan" dan "kedjawen pagan front" terlebih ketika saya mendownload lagu Makam (audiostreet.net) yang berjudul Manikmaya Marrionette. Alasan ketertarikan saya adalah selain saya merupakan penggemar musik black metal karena Makam merupakan band metal pertama yang saya tahu memiliki visi yang unik yang lain dalam bermusik yaitu bervisi kebudayaan kalau boleh saya bilang begitu. Oleh karena itu jika tidak keberatan saya ingin tahu lebih dalam mengenai segala konsep yang Makam usung langsung dari sumbernya, hal tersebut antara lain :

 

1. apakah arti yang sesungguhnya dari kedjawen pagan front tersebut ?

     Kedjawen Pagan Front :

     Kedjawen, Kejawen, Kdjaven, Pendjawi, Kabuyutuan hangajawi; adalah konsep spiritualitas pribumi jawa dengan filosofi berke-Tuhan-annya.

     Kedjawen Pagan dengan nilai spiritual kabuyutan hangajawi mempunyai ciri perilaku penghormatan kepada roh nenek moyang/leluhur, menghargai keseimbangan alam, pemujaan kekuatan dewa-dewi penguasa alam beserta manifestasinya. Bentuk religiusitas keyakinan ini disebut mistik kejawen/Javanese occultism. Ritual religiusitas asli warisan nenek moyang ini telah lama ada jauh sebelum peradaban agama-agama monotheis/samawi/abrahamic masuk di bumi Jawa namun yang pasti keyakinan spiritualitas ini telah menjadi sukma dalam darah dan daging anak manusia ras suku Jawa dimanapun mereka berada dan apapun keyakinan baru mereka. Menjadi tugas kami disini  untu tetap menjaga agar nilai spiritualitas itu tetap murni dan abadi sebagai The Heritage belief & custom of Java.

     Front, berarti garda depan.

     Representasikan nilai defensive kami untuk siap menangkal usaha-usaha pembinasaan integritas keyakinan ini. Menyikapi kondisi disintegrasi bangsa dan adanya sinyal pergerakan revolusi puritan maka keadaan ini memaksa kami untuk mengambil langkah pertahanan dan kombatan. Saya pribadi sebagai penghayat terakhir generasi ke-tujuh terpaksa harus siap mengawalinya melalui jaringan komunitas ini. 

     Pergerakan menuntut:

 

          Kami ada karena sebuah reaksi untuk sebuah tegaknya hak ulayat, hukum adat dan nilai -nilai tradisionalis dan band kami adalah salah satu media corong proPAGANda perjuangan.

     Sambut juga eksistensi jaringan kami di UJUNG GALUH Pagan Front, DJENGGALA Pagan Front, DHOHO Pagan Front, TENGGER Pagan Front, BORNEO/DAYAK Pagan Front dan seluruh komunitas Pagan di planet ini.

2. yang saya tahu selama ini kedjawen merupakan hasil perpaduan antara islam dan kebudayaan (kalu tidak salah) jawa, itu berarti apakah kalian masih menjalankan kewajiban seorang muslim ?

     Oke. Namun tanpa mengurangi rasa hormat kepada Anda, saya tidak bersedia menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang menanyakan status agama dalam konteks agama-agama Monotheis, Maaf.

     Pemahaman Anda tersebut disebut Kejawen-Tasawuf, Kejawen yang dikembangkan oleh para wali/ulama besar untuk kepentingan penyebaran agama-agama monotheis di Jawa. sementara kami adalah penghayat Kabuyutan Hangajawi / Kedjawen Pagan yang lebih mengutamakan spiritualitas yang mengarah kepada aktualisasi diri daripada hiruk pikuk religiusitas yang mencandu.

     Pemikiran ini menyokong pemahaman bahwa agami iku tan bedha mring ageman nira (agama tidak lebih dari sekedar bermakna baju), bukankah kita mengenal baju karena dikenalkan oleh orang tua kita saat balita ? dan artinya agama-agama monotheis adalah "produk budaya asing" diluar DNA manusia Jawa.

     Ia dikenakan dan tidak diturunkan/diwariskan.

     Semestinya agama-agama monotheis meyakini juga bahwa Spitiualitas ini Jelas dan Religiusitas itu Bias.      

3. mengenai Makam raider clan bisa dijelaskan lebih dalam ?
4. siapa saja yang termasuk di dalam clan tersebut ?
5. seperti hal sebuah perkumpulan apakah clan tersebut memiliki tujuan tertentu ?

     Untuk jawaban pertanyaan nomor 3,4,5 kami gabung saja.Karena satu sama lain masih ada kaitannya.

     Makam Raiders Klan sebenarnya dibentuk untuk wadah komunitas para fans, sahabat dan crew pendukung  pementasan, para kolega dokumentasi, desain merchandise, bale pajang, dan masih banyak lagi aktivitas sosial dan komunal disana. Dalam klan ini kami biasa ngobrol ... make some fun, korespondensi, bagi-bagi info bisnis sampingan, jamming session, bikin konsep dan dummy lagu dan mungkin kelak akan menjadi tempat bermain dan belajar metal anak-anak kami. Dan untuk keluarga besar personil/player dengan segenap istri-istri dan anak dinamakan M klan. Kenapa harus berbentuk Klan karena ada ikatan kami di dalamnya,  itu sebabnya kami belum berganti personil sejak 1995. Additional personil  diperlukan untuk replacement player.

     Kata Makam Raiders, sebenarnya berawal dari friend mocking/olok-olok teman sekitar tahun 91-an tentang aktivitas kenakalan remaja kami saat itu yang sering kedapatan mengoleksi "souvenir dari pemakaman"

     Setelah nge-band baru nyadar dan inget memori itu lalu aku pake aja untuk nama komuntas pendukung band kami ini, persamaannya sama-sama beranggotakan banyak orang dalam ikatan persaudaraan heheheheheee ... . dan jadilah kami ... Komunitas Keluarga Besar Perompak MAKAM !!! Makamraidersklan.
