Slim has posted a new song - "Blues for Mathias Popkin." This song was inspired by the 1940 film "The Shop Around the Corner" starring Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullaven. Poor Mr. Popkin is never seen in the film, as he is a fictional character invented....well, you'll have to see the movie.

Ms. Sullaven sadly committed suicide in 1960, as did two of her children.

Slim sends his deepest congratulations to Rocco Mediate for his gallant and inspiring performance in the U.S. Open Golf Championship. It took 91 holes and he almost brought the Tiger down....and any golfer who wears a peace symbol is OK with me......I noted with total amazement that some right-wing posters and bloggers and whining about the peace symbol, even going so far to make ridiculous aspersions about his private life....what's wrong with people, Slim asks?
