Karnivool - Themata

Step in this room where I wanna be
Surely you mean this as something
You're bringing me down to a silent breath
When it's the truth that I wanna see

Search myself for the reason
The ever loving greed
I am put off slightly
So what am I to see.. oh my love
In the sensory serenity

So pull the pin inside
Baby let it ride
Never knowin' I'm the next to see
With the fire sign
Never make it mine
Never knowin' I'm the next to be

I am learning slowly
So what am I to see
Every twist and turning
Through my hypocrisy

It's so good to see
This world is alive
It's so good to see
This world is a lie

Like a knot it binds, suffocating minds
Never knowing, I'm the next to see
With the fire sign
Never make it mine
Never knowin' I'm the next to bleed

I am learning slowly
So what am I to see
Every twist and turning
Through my hypocrisy
Search myself for the reason
Forever loving greed
I am bored of silence
So what am I to see?

It's so good to see
This world is alive
It's so good to see
This world isn't mine

Lie awake, still, as I try to breathe
Surely you mean this is something
You're bringing me down to a silent breath
and it's the truth that I wanna see

In the sensory, serenity
how could it be, that I'm the next to see?
In the sensory, serenity
how could it be, that I'm the next to see?
In the sensory, serenity
how could it be, that I'm the next to see?
In the sensory, serenity
could it be, that I'm in ecstasy

It's so good to see
This world is alive
It's so good to see
This world isn't mine

It's So good to see (so good to see)
This world I'm in loves me..
So

Here are a few reviews for our debut album "8 Fingers of Whisky" That were on cdbaby.com

Reviewer: Rafael- Manifestation of Anger

All i can say is the speakers blew in car when i played this cd, thats how hard these guys fuckin rock...I recommend this cd to anyone that loves rock...If you havent picked it up yet, then you must be broke or want your ass kicked, buy it, listen to it, love it....Live your life with NOOOO REEEEGAAARRRRDDDD!

Reviewer: Bryan Andre- The way heavy metal is supposed to sound.
This what heavy metal is! Not all the bullshit that has been heard on the radio in last 10+ years, but pure heavy thrash metal at it's best. This band has a excellent chance of becoming legends like Slayer or Metallica.

Reviewer: Kanaka- Balls To The Wall Metal

Metal Reign is a local metal band in South Fla who is all about bringing back a new age of metal. With 8 fingers of Whiskey, their debut Cd, they do just that. 8 Fingers of Whiskey is all about metal, none of the songs slow down, just straight out metal. If you love metal, pick up this album, it wont disappoint and turn you on to a bad ass upcoming band.

Reviewer: juan- esta brutal

este cd es uno de los mas buscados de musica metal en sur florida me encanto Comprelo

Special thanks to all you guys for your kind words

"Wow, yes this concert was reallly good...actually better than i thought it was gonna be. yep yep, I mean only 3 bands really caught my attention....Which were MadSiC, Chapters Unfold, and Metal Reign. Yeah im glad i have like friends in a band now...YEAH! lol. They are actually really cool guys...probably the only people i really hung out with all night, oh besides Lila lol!

Lemme tell ya why i thought each band was kickass. Starting with MadSic, i mean their stage performances were fucking awesome, The Grim Reaper guy, The wheel chair electro-cution...and that monster thingy were sic! But what caught me off caught and literally got me outta my seat was the tribute to slipknot. I heard wait and bleed and i jumped up the exact words i said were " No fucking way". They played bits from Wait and Bleed,Duality, The Blister Exists,Spit it out,The Heretic Anthem, and left behind...i think thats all of them lol! But yeah this band kicked ass.

The next band was Chapters unfold...never heard of this band (or Madsic) for the record. I mean the second these guys hit the stage a crowd swarmed up, i was thinking ok this band must be good. So i got up and started listening and watching...WOW! I mean the music was awesome...The stage energy was intense...i mean you could feel the band trying theirt hardest to put on the best possible perfomance! I mean The other bands before sounded great just no movement...I need movement to get me moving! But yeah the lead singer (Serge i think his name is) got people up on the stage and they were singing the songs and shit...wow! That band rocked hard!

And Metal Reign was my fav...hands down. Not only did i get to hang with these guys their music actually sounded 10 times better live then any CD could. it didnt give the band justice to how hard they worked to get this far and that reeled me in as a fan now. I mean i didnt know any of the songs lyrics but i just ate them up and went crazy jumping into the pit into one song i believe was called "bliss". yeah i think so...lol. I listened to the Cd on the way home...which was great i mean i was already half deaf!

But overall this was a great show...i got all my money's worth, even though i got kicked out at 11 which sucked. Oh well...cant wait to see them live again."

Intelligent teenagers often listen to heavy metal music to cope with the pressures associated with being talented, according to research.

The results of a study of more than 1,000 of the brightest five per cent of young people will come as relief to parents whose offspring, usually long-haired, are devotees of Iron Maiden, AC/DC and their musical descendants.

Researchers found that, far from being a sign of delinquency and poor academic ability, many adolescent "metalheads" are extremely bright and often use the music to help them deal with the stresses and strains of being gifted social outsiders.

Stuart Cadwallader, a psychologist at the University of Warwick, will present the findings at the British Psychological Society conference in York today.

He said: "There is a perception of gifted and talented students as being into classical music and spending a lot of time reading. I think that is an inaccurate stereotype. There is literature that links heavy metal to poor academic performance and delinquency but we found a group that contradicts that.

"We are looking at a group with lower than average self-esteem that does not feel quite as well adjusted. They feel more stressed out and turn to heavy metal as a way of relieving that stress.

"Participants said they appreciated the complex and sometimes political themes of heavy metal music more than perhaps the average pop song. It has a tendency to worry adults a bit but I think it is just a cathartic thing. It does not indicate problems."

The researchers surveyed 1,057 members of the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth - a body whose 120,000 student members are within the top five per cent academically in the 11-19 age range.

Asked for their favourite type of music, 39 per cent said rock, 18 per cent R&B and 14 per cent pop. Six per cent said heavy metal and a third rated it in their top five genres.

The heavy metal fans in the study had lower self-esteem and more difficulties in family relationships and friendships.

Mr Cadwallader then held an online discussion involving 19 members of the academy, 17 of whom were heavy metal fans. They spoke of listening to bands including System of a Down, Slipknot, Tool, Dragon Force, Forward Russia and In Flames when they were in a bad mood and using it to work off frustrations and anger.

One student said: "It helps me with stress. It's the general thrashiness of it. You can't really jump your anger into the floor and listen to your music at the same time with other types of music."

Mr Cadwallader added: "Perhaps gifted people experience more pressure than their peers and use the music to purge this negativity."

Dan Silver, assistant editor of the music magazine NME who has worked for Kerrang! and Metal Hammer, said: "Many themes of heavy metal are about alienation. If you have these kinds of feelings there is a lot you can get out of the music and the community of fans who are into it."

I'm so alive
I'm so enlightened
I can barely survive
A night in my mind
I've got a plan
I'm gonna find out just how boring I am
And have a good time

Cause ever since I tried
Trying not to find
Every little meaning in my life
It's been fine
I've been cool
With my new golden rule

Numb is the new deep
Done with the old me
And talk is the same cheap it's been

Is there a God?
Why is he waiting?
Don't you think of it odd
When he knows my address?
And look at the stars
Don't they remind you of just how feeble we are?
Well it used to, I guess

Cause ever since I tried
Trying not to find
Every little meaning in my life
It's been fine
I've been cool
With my new golden rule

Numb is the new deep
Done with the old me
And talk is the same cheap
It's been

I'm a new man
I wear a new cologne and
You wouldn't know me if your eyes were closed
I know what you'll say
'This won't last longer than the rest of the day'
But you're wrong this time
You're wrong

Numb is the new deep
Done with the old me
I'm over the analyzing
Tonight

Stop trying to figure it out
(you try to figure, you try to figure it out)
It will only bring you down
You know, I used to be the back
porch poet with my book of rhymes
Always open knowing all the time I'm problably
Never gonna find the perfect rhyme
For 'heavier things'
