Eid Mubarak!
A wonderful coincidence happens this year where the celebration of Eid al Adha, the festival of Pilgrimage, arrives the next day after Thanksgiving (mainly in USA). While on the one hand the Eid Festival is celebrating the completion of the rites of Pilgrimage to Makkah and surrounding areas, built on the returning of humanity to the Creator in a global wave of worship; the other is about Pilgrims fleeing persecution and finding God's bounty awaiting them in another land, thanking God for their safety and sustenance. Both are a sign that God shows His path and makes a way for those who believe enough to make a journey in His name...

After a lesson learnt in Dublin, the excerpts from the Moonshadow musical opened the evening. Yusuf, sitting on a wooden crate, patiently laid out what would follow. Then the cast took over and delivered the promise. The audience leant in, intrigued to hear old songs from new lips, you could’ve heard a pick drop.

Tonight Yusuf plays the National Indoor Academy in Birmingham, and there have been some changes to the running order of the show. The first 25 minutes will see Yusuf introducing a showcase of 'Moonshadow', his much-anticipated new musical. After the break, Yusuf and his band will return for a full, uninterrupted set of timeless classics and critically acclaimed new material. Yusuf had this to say about the changes: "We've learnt a few lessons from the show in Dublin and we're confident that this time around, fans will be better aware of what they'll be coming to see." We hope you all enjoy the show. Update: The Birmingham set list was as follows... Lilywhite The Wind Where Do The Children Play Thinkin' 'Bout You Boots And Sand Welcome Home Oh Very Young Bad Brakes Wild World Roadsinger Morning Has Broken I Think I See The Light (Crate Moment / Story About Tillerman) Miles From Nowhere Don't Be Shy Glass World Moonshadow Peace Train (Encore) Sitting All Kinds Of Roses Tuesday's Dead (Encore 2) Father And Son

Strange how God’s nature has a way of
telling you the way things are going to go. Perhaps, if I had
understood the message hidden in the stormy weather forecast on
Saturday evening, I might have been better prepared for what happened
the next night at Dublin’s O2…
