Hi everyone, Willamette Week was kind enough to post an Exploration Team track and a little piece in the "Cut of the Day" column. Link to it here: http://localcut.wweek.com/2009/01/22/exploration-team-aloft-we-are-birds-we-are-trees-self-releasedteam-love/As the piece says, hopefully tracks will be posted in the Team Love library and CD's will be available through their site by late February, but in the meantime please contact us if you want a copy and we'll work something out.

Hi everyone, Just wanted to direct you to a couple of nice pieces that recently came out about the band and "We Are Birds, We Are Trees." Robert Ham did an interview with yours truly for the OPB music blog. You can read it here: http://opbmusic.org/blog/entries/375-Exploration-Team-A-Q-A-With-Aaron-KrenkelBrenda Paro at Crawdaddy wrote a very warm review of the record this week. You can read it here: http://crawdaddy.wolfgangsvault.com/Review/Exploration-Team-We-Are-Birds-We-Are-Trees.htmlMore news coming soon. In the meantime, if you stumble across this and want to buy a record, send us a message through myspace, or if you're in Portland, check out Q is for Choir on Clinton or Tender Loving Empire on NW Lovejoy. Team Love will likely have records available and tracks posted in the not-too-distant future as well. Thanks! Aaron/Exploration Team

It was last Christmas Eve that we mixed "We Are Birds, We Are Trees" in a 20-hour marathon at Jackpot! Exclamation point it freakin' A right.
So it seems rather fitting that the holiday season is here once again for the completion and release of the record.
Our apologies for the many delays, but better late than never. Unless it's really terrible; then never is probably better. But honestly, though it's not perfect (what is?), we think it's better late than never in this case.
We'll be getting addresses to send a copy to many friends and otherwise interested parties. If you stumble across this and want a copy, be in touch and we'll figure out a way.
Best,
AK/Exploration Team

So we mixed the whole record in a couple days around Christmas and have been biding our time, wondering what to do with this thing. Send it for mastering? Post tracks? Give a copy to the town criar? It's all puzzling. But in any event, we thought we'd start with posting a couple more tracks. Yeah, we'll master it. We'll print some copies. We'll dialogue, multitask, and synergize, and when all that's done we'll have a record for y'all and maybe some performances. Stay tuned!!!

We just posted "The Ocean Will Rise" (still in rough-mix form, but otherwise pretty complete). This is one of the songs off the new record, which we're tentatively going to call "We Are Birds, We Are Trees." We hope you like it.

OK OK OK. Home recording can drag on. But we're totally excited about how this record is shaping up. We have 9 new songs recorded, and all that's left is recording the piano at our house and maybe a trumpet part, and then we're off to the races with mixing. Prediction: We'll be sending it for mastering by February. We'll have rough mixes posted asap! We want all our friends and hopefuylly some new initiates to hear our music. Please check back for the rough mixes.
