In Rembrance.. Anzac Day 2007.

I am completely honored and totally looking forward to going back to GORE this year. One of my new songs "Grow".. (not yet recorded) has been selected as a finalist in this years MLT awards. http://www.goldguitars.co.nz/results_mlt_songwriting.html ..There are so many great things happening in GORE this year.
I will be performing my new song at the MLT Awards and also attending the MLT Seminar.. This has people speaking like Don McGlashan and Mike Moroney, as well as the likes of Anthony Healey and Petrina George from APRA and Cath Anderson from Music Industry Commission all speaking .. This is what I found wonderful about GORE is that the NZ music industry come together with the Country Music Scene.. its a vital joining and it needs to happen more often in my opinion.
Anyway I just wanted to share some of the events happening at Gore this year.. Last time I went in 2005 as a nominee in the NZ Country Music Awards for APRA Country Song of the Year, I cannot express how welcome I was made to feel. They even jacked up baby sitters for me, so my 3 little children could watch me perform then go back to the hotel.. It was a completely wonderful time and I look forward to the terrific hospitality and great activities again. For more info go to www.goldguitars.co.nz
Cheers
Aly

Gore Country Music Development Program
The New Zealand Gold Guitars Awards Committee along with the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) are excited to announce a new joint venture. The two will join together at the 2007 Gold Guitar Awards to bring the Gore Country Music Development Program to aspiring musicians.
This programme is modelled on the successful CMAA Australian College of Country Music held in Tamworth. The course has run in Tamworth for the past 11 years helping young, up and coming country music artists progress their professional career.
The Gore Country Music Development Program is designed to assist country music artists to increase their skills and develop valuable relationships within the industry. The workshops will be held over three days in a residential type programme where participants are accommodated and tutored on the premises.
The modules addressed within this course include: Song writing theory, song writing practical, introduction to the country music industry, interview techniques, preparing to record, self management, bio writing and special guest lectures. Specialist tutors will come from Australia to run each of the modules.
NZ Gold Guitar Awards convenor Phillip Geary said "It is an honour for Gore to be chosen as the only place outside Tamworth to hold this development programme. It is exciting that New Zealand musicians can get access to this calibre of professional development."
The course is designed to cater to people from the age of 15 upwards and the first 30 applicants will be accepted.
Course Details and Registration Forms can be downloaded from the NZ Gold Guitar Awards at www.goldguitars.co.nz .
