Category: Art and Photography
Check out this link, I submitted a piece of art to the guys at Toy Tokyo for the Kaiju Art Show a couple weeks ago. Thanks to Lil Japan ( one of my top friends, check out his awesome art) who suggested I do it. Well, they put it up and as an unexpected bonus, they hung up a selection of kaiju themed flyers I sent too! Check out the flickr set link for pics. Huge thank you to everyone involved for letting me weasel into this awesome event. Check out pics on Toy Tokyo's myspace ( in my top friends). http://www.flickr.com/photos/geoff_w/sets/72157604725809356/

Category: Dreams and the Supernatural
So I'm not much into blogs, but this weekend deserves special mention. My new band You Have Ten Seconds, played our first gig. It was cool, a bunch of punks , skins, drunks were there. There was not one hipster to be found, I realize they can't get past their stereotypes so I don't fault them for staying at home. It was awesome and thanks to everyone that went.
On Saturday The Evens played at a coffee house in Akron. I had been a fan of Minor Threat since they started, I actually got to see them back in 1982 in DC. I met Ian once while he was working at a movie theatre in Georgetown, he was very nice. Well, I stopped by the coffeehouse while I was working and they were loading up equipment. At first they thought I was there to yell at them for blocking the alley. Ian was super nice, told me he knew all about Half Life, which kind of suprised me.It was great for me, I hadn't seen the guy in over 20 years but I was so stupid I was almost speechless. Lame I know, but the guy and his music was a huge influence on me growing up. I still think thats the best thing about punk rock, you get to meet all your heroes.
So the only thing that topped that was my 3 year old daughter burp-talked "I love you" to me. And I got two awesome Bullmark kaiju figures in the mail from Japan.

Current mood:shiftless
...and five of them are gone already! This is the rather long name of the new band me and some friends have going, the guys from Drop Gun. So far it pretty much kicks ass and will be a blast when we are ready to play out. The name comes from when I was in basic training at Ft Benning for the regular Army. One of our drill sergeants would say that, I always thought it was funny. Odd how that shit sticks with you.....
