woke up this morning with the sounds of wind in the trees outside my window, and a definite chill of winter in the air.it was 5 o clock. isnt it typical that when your body needs it your mind gets all stubborn and independent and decides it wants to wake up.ill go back in a minute.
well, the albums are done, they finally got to a point where like slithery snakes i got them quiet  enough to be pinned down and get measured up for sleeves and a record jacket, ready for release.  making and releasing 2 albums is bonkers. i have to rethink things through in english or think in welsh when ive been talking through things in english and same goes in interviews ect. still its exersize for the brain, and i never did get round to doing that on the ds.
after then, touring with teel and mason again which is always great .thats the last 2 weeks of october.so thats coming up soon
. yesterday i met robyn hitchcock on my 6 music show.its always a pleasure to meet people whose music youve admired for years. i went back to listen to 'gotta let this hen out' and was amazed at the production. id listened to it on home recorded cassette as a kid...cassettes have got a lot to answer for. mine were dusty, old, stretched, left out in the sun and loopy for real at best.i thought thats how the music sounded then...all those albums...
so the sound of the same music in 2010 was like the viewing the world through a new window. i was amazed. but its also a great way of measuring a huge chunk of time thats passed. and its an improvement not a deterioration.
see you soon, through a clear window i hope,

To go along with the new and finalised title for the album, 'Don't Look Down', a second t-shirt design competition is being run.

Send your designs on this new theme to info@bedlammanagement.com

Bear in mind that the more colours you use, the more expensive the t-shirts would be to make, so being economical with colour is a good thing.

Closing date's September 24th.

Cerys will release her first CD in two years on October 5th. The album, entitled ‘Don't Look Down’ will be released in two versions, one in English and the other in Welsh. It was recorded in Providence, Rhode Island, Nashville, Seattle and London and coincides with a two week UK tour in October (dates below). Using two of her US musicians, the show will be split into two full performances, the only date with a support act will be at the London's Union Chapel show with Alessi's Ark on 21st October.

After covering Glastonbury for both BBC TV and BBC Radio 6, she has recently started her daily 6 Music show (‘Cerys on 6’) with her eclectic mix of contemporary, roots and just ace music. She recently wrote and presented a well-received BBC2 primetime programme on Celtic Poetry and documentaries on the singer Dorothy Squires and music of the Mississippi river.

Louise Crosby's winning t-shirt designs:

Tuesday, June 23, 2009
thank you for all the entires to the t shirt design competition .....to go with the 'not so torrid affairs of a reluctant housekeeper' album. there were some very, very funny entires, some had me in stitches..some great ideas and some brilliant ones.
the most brilliant due to her genius use of those pesky symbols seen on clothes tags to give you instructions on how to care for aforementioned clothes is........ is louise crosby.

thank you louise-the t's stood out with their simple but eye catching designs..see you october.

so thank you for all the entries...i hope you enjoyed making them as much as we did looking through them all.

its about time i wrote too..i blame 6 music.they kept asking me to come back and ive been spending way too much time looking for music to play, but ive got a break now till glastonbury so its good to catch up at last . so hello again. been having fun too playing with a full band-oroh,rocco brad mike and teel over the last few months in the celtic fests in glasgow, cardiff and also shows in  abergavenny and aberystwyth.
as for the album, im recording extra new songs so the track list has shifted again. by now  though, apart from recording 2 more songs for the welsh language sister album we are done and the release is mooted for sept/october when well be touring. ill post the definite dates when all is confirmed..but i can say that well be visiting theatres in wales and england as a trio i.e with teel on lap steel and mason on every instrument under the sun like before. we are very happy about this expedition as its been a while since the last theatre tour. hopefully see you there.
and just now ive been checking the weather reports for glastonbury since i will be covering it for the bbc- both the red button tv footage and 6 music -from 5-8.. if youre there ill see you there, if youre not text 6 music on 64046 with some track selections or news?..always good to hear from you..
take care for now, and nice one again for the t shirt designs,i may think of another competition too, shall i?

anyways,love always,
cerys xxx
