Hi gals and pals, we are still finishing up some really big stuff... but in the meantime please check out a new song we have put up on YouTube... "Patience Child" is a raggae-rock song that we feel very deeply about... no matter how bad things look, don't give up, have patience... All will be fine.

For those of you who missed our bulletins, we have a new song on our profile, "Henry Poole is Here".  Thats the name of a movie coming out in August by director Mark Pellington ("Arlington Road") and starring Luke "I'm the one with the straight nose" Wilson. He is running a contest to choose the "theme song" for the movie, and we thought that for fun we would write and record an entry, and we want you to hear it too.

July 8th Pellington announces the 5 finalists, then there will be a big myspace vote for the winner.  See http://www.myspace.com/henrypooleishere for a trailer for the movie and more information.

We had to write, arrange and record this in record time, so we would very much like your thoughts!

Hey its getting near the end of the year, so thought it was time for a "state of the band" blog.

First off, we want to wish you a very happy holiday season in whatever way you choose to celebrate it... just celebrate something, by God we've earned it I think.

2007 was a fantastic year for the band, and a springboard from which world domination can proceed.  The year began and ended in the studio... in April we released the "Good Teenagers Take Off Their Clothes" CD and last week we released "Christmas Socks", our full length Christmas CD.  In between, we released a CD single, "Westboro", which reached the upper echelons of the Clear Channel "new music" chart.  We played a lot of shows, met a lot of new friends, and in general had a great time.

One of our goals for 2007 was to begin making headway in the United Kingdom, and we now have thousands of fans there clamoring for us to come visit... and we will.  Another was to attract the attention of some nationally recognized producers to supercharge our 2008 projects and, again, mission accomplished (more on this in upcoming weeks).

We cannot go any further without crediting you, our fans, who have kept the torches lit and kept reminding us why we do this... for you, the best fans in the world.  Keep the emails, messages, and drunken dialing coming.

Whats in store for 2008? Well, a new CD in the 1st quarter, and possible two.  An increased national touring presence while focusing on larger all-ages shows for our Florida and Pennsylvania fans.  And some international touring as well. Yep, we'll be busy.

We close by telling you what we want for Christmas. Peace on Earth. No, just kidding. We want everyone out there to tell a couple friends about the band.  Thats it. And XBox 360 games.

We love all of you,

Attila and the Huns

Current mood:  artistic

Attila and the Huns have recorded a 15 minute phone interview with Florida Music Radio. The interview gives insight into a lot of the BURNING questions you've had about Attila and the Huns. Why did we name our CD Good Teenagers Take Off Their Clothes? Who is the most foul-mouthed Hun? How much longer will Brian Peppers be hiding in your closet?

Answers to these questions and more can be found here. Enjoy!

A day off for our band, and a day spent facing off against the incredible waves and rip currents at Melbouene beach.

Final score: God 1, AATH 0.

We'll be interviewing for a new bassist next week...

OK its high time that we start regularly blogging whats going on with the band for our fans. We think we have the best fans in the universe and you deserve to know whats going on behind the curtain.

We have big things in the works, 3 big things, actually, which is good. Because in this business, you are lucky if the people you deal with actually come through one out of 3 times, so we are hoping that one of these will hit. If they do, AATH will move up a level, or a couple levels.  Lets just say that the band gets a lot more attention in other parts of the country... and indeed in other countries... than they do in our home town. Thats a constant irritation for us, but it has to do with several factors, most of which we have no control over.

Those of you in Melbourne know what happens when Attila and the Huns is given the chance to do its thing on a consistent basis, and others around the country are about to find out.

In the meantime, we of course have to keep playing to keep developing our show, but sometimes we almost regret doing a show. We played a 18+ show in Orlando on Friday night.  The venue in question (those who were there know where we are talking about, but it rhymes with "Liquid Cellar") is familiar to us, we have played there before and we know the sound is horrible. So we decided to do an acoustic rendition of some of our songs, figuring that would simplify things for the sound people and at least let the vocals be heard.

Nope.

What followed was the live-show equivalent of the Challenger disaster, with vocals, guitars and monitors popping in and out (mostly out). Those of you who are not musicians may not know how difficult it is to perform when you cannot hear your voice or your instrument.  Well, its pretty darn difficult. J.D., our music director and touring trombone player, always says "A band can never be any better than their sound guy" and the point was driven home yet again that night.  Of course, he also says that dogs cannot look up, so you never know with him.

(To all sound people out there... hook instrument and microphones to a cable. hook other end of cable to board. Hook one end of cable to board, one to speakers or monitors. Turn powe on. Move sliders up and down on board until you can hear everything.  There. we just saved you $100,000 at Full Sail.)

As a band, we need to take more control of our destiny; to play shows where we can more control sound, lighting, and who can attend (I think we are done with 18+ or 21+ shows, friends, its not fair to you guys).  Frankly, we need to  play for people who come to hear music as opposed to people who come to drink.  We are working on putting some shows together and promoting them ourselves, with some great area bands with whom we have mutual respect and passion for excellence.  Anyone who wants to join our street team and help with this, please send us a message. Be sure to let us know where you live!

We'll try to keep you up to date more on whats going on with the band, if you enjoy these blogs, please let us know.

Alright, first of all, we have a new track up.  It was recorded in the session along with the album Good Teenagers take off their Clothes, and its called Surf Grunge.  It's about the girl who ran our production the first time we had a radio interview, her name was Nadia, or Nadya or something.  Anyhow, she rocks.

And further more, I'd like to take this time to congratulate Terry (James) and his beautiful fiancee Larissa, who are getting married in less than 2 weeks!  Many may recall the song "James and Anne" on our first album, it's about him, when he was dating his ex.  I'm glad they broke up though, because his fiancee is an excellent woman.

I want to wish them both lots of luck!  Listen to the track.  Sleep tight, commarades!
