THE ATTRACTION TO REGGAE MUSIC

Peace and all the good vibes my friends. I hope all is well and proper in your world and may it continue to be.

I attended  Festival and Reggae shows and the sounds and vibes are always  irie indeed. As I was looking around at the crowds I said to myself, wow look at the array of people reggae atttracts. The world mixture of all colors, from the  young to  old and wise. Remarkable that is, I am a lover of music. All music from rap to rock and all in between.  I have been to countless shows and yet none has the diversity as reggae. Please take your own test and see if what I say is not the truth. Why is it I feel that reggae embraces all the good feelings deep in the soul. True soul music a family affair of sorts. I have never seen so many mothers and fathers holding their babies and swaying to the cool riddims, which reggae music brings forth.

Ah yes so refreshing like a sweet gentle breeze of sounds for the ears. Can we forget the colors? Oh no. The vibrant colors that represents the reggae code. Can you say it fashion.  Tell me what other genre of music where the ladies look so divine and majestic or so carefree like a kite dancing in the wind. Reggae music is a magnet that draws people from all walks of life from every part of the world.  They feel the bass and the hearts melt. They feel the drums and the mind expands. Thoughts of universal love and respect to all of the most high wondrous creations. As I walked through the crowds the positive words you hear as you a pass, groups of people.

One love, bless up, livity, words of enlightenment caress the air as you respond with a salutation of the same or better.

What is that wafting through the air, oh yes it is, rice and peas, the jerk fish and chicken the curries. Drinks you say Irish Moss, Ginger Beer, Soursop. I am getting hungry now. But you do feel me my friends reggae combines so many things. Each separate with its own flair and when put all together you have a powerful entity, a beautiful mystical spirit that attracts all like sailing on water for months then looking out and seeing land ahead. We sail onwards and towards.
Always with love and peace-in

        Najashi..s Narrations

        CONSCIOUS SOUNDS A GO ROUND

        Peace my good friends

I do hope all is blessed on your side and the
        most high guide yoiur stride.

I do hope everything is copacetic, upfull and bright in your life.

Spring the season of new life is almost upon us.I hope you are enjoying the fruits of the season with family and loved ones

It was my displeasure again to view the 08 grammies the award for
music excellence. Again the Reggae award was not televised.
I tell you my friends what a disrespect that is and how long will it
        be l that way?

We need to get up, stand up, stand up for our rights! We need to use email to let the television producers know they our not serving our needs as far as reggae goes.We reggae artist and fans need to rise up as one and demand more reggae videos on the music stations and coverage of major reggae concerts and awards.

You might be saying, " but Najashi? How could I make a difference? I am just one person"

What you may not know is that its easy to get in touch with any major or local network. Just google the name of the network or station... especially MTV and MTV2, go to their home page and write them a simple, direct email like " Dear Sir or Madam. I notice a lack of reggae programming on ur station. It is my favorite music, and I would love to see more reggae programming.I would watch your station more often if they carried reggae videos, interviews with artists, and concert footage"

See? just 2 minutes and you made your contribution. One personmay not make much impact but a united front of reggae lovers? Jah Army as they say.

There is an excellent TV show on cable in NYC called Rockers that the longtime producer and friend of Bob Marley, Earl Chin hosts. He has interviews and music and has been on for years. No reason that show or similar ones, or even say a cooking show featuring healthy simple Ital meals could be aired.

As the new genrartion of conscious music makers walks in the door you
have to ask yourself, "will this new crop of talented artist let the same things happen?"

Does the industry have any regards for the universal appeal and
        worldwide notoriety of reggae music?

You must ask yourself that question.

Queen Ifrica the fiyah woman from Jamaica... she bring much needed vibes
in reggae, bringing woman and many issues to the forefront along with beautiful fresh vocal stylings.

Groups like Midnite from St Croix with the intense sounds and lyrical
quality, Pressure from the Virgin Islands with his hit song
love and affection, Jah Melody from Trinidad, Anthony B, Lutan
Fiyah,  Gentleman , Tarrus Riley...those artists are my pick to really blow up this year as the summer reggae concert season begins.

There so many great new artists from around the globe... they are some of the new blood that is running through the sleeping giant which is reggae music.

Truly sometimes when I think about it all the talent out there is overwhelming. I give thanks to the Most High for endowing the sweet earth with so much extroadinary musical talent to make everyday life a constant celebration

So this is time that we step up and make our voices heard along with the
songs that is sung.No time like the present as the old folks say.

Reggae muisc is the infectious vibes that is needed even more you see
how the worlds is. and what plights we have all over the globe.

Well reggae is a healing for hurt and needy not the money hungry and
        greedy. The light will shine.

But we must be the one to turn on the swicth and keep the momentum on
the rise. that is only way we shall get the prize.

Where are the legends of concious music? Who are they talking to? And
why are they not talking to the folks at areas like
the National Academy of Rrecording Arts and Science and asking them what is the situation with not televising the Reggae award for the world to see.

Come on Rita marley, Beres Hammond, Bunny
Wailer, Burning Spear, Capleton, Sizzla, Luciano, Jr Reid, and any Marley child...
speak up for the genre of muisc that you love and participate in making  We respect and admire all of you and your excellenent works. All of you and more have paved

the way for many to follow but the path
is still in need of paving we can..t and must not stop  you  feel me.

Please speak up. for it is a shame that Bob Marley was voted
artist of the decade and still we are in the same position that is a shame.

Is it up to the new generation to make this happen what needs to be done? If so
then we must start to write a new chapter in this book.

Wake up and live... please just wake up.

I wish you all well my good friends, and look forward to next month when we will address more interesting topics concerning reggae music and conscious lifestyle.

Always remember Ital keep you vital.

        love and peace in

REGGAE TOGETHERNESS

Peace my good friends!

Its the fall time and i do hope all is warm and
nice with you and family.Autumn leaves blowing, chilly nights by the cozy fire with loved ones and hot cocoa.

You know, I was talking to a friend who is in a well known reggae band
based on the east coast..As we were talking, he mentioned performing a show not in his town where there were a few other reggae bands on the bill.

Some he knew well, with some others that was the first time seeing them perform.
So he continued reasoning with me, saying, "Some reggae bands preach the one love and good vibes, but its a front".

I asked him to explain... he told me that after they performed and wrecked the
crowd, backstage it was crazy looks and nasty glares. I was surprised at that and said so.... and he further explained that is one of the reasons reggae suffers.

The ego, the wanting the attention of people (mainly pretty women).I had to laugh, for you would think he might be speaking on some rap or rock artist, but reggae???

Reggae is a conscious music for the world to embrace and
enjoy. It speaks of Universal Love. Letting one cares aside and just feeling the Ital
sounds and bringing a enlightment to the mind through mystical sound and deep vibes, that what reggae is to me.Women may be attracted to male artists who do this, but it happens in a sweet and natural way, nothing competitive or lustful.

But I overstood where he was coming from. In music we all strive to be the best and "bring it" as they say.

Some folks take that further thinking its about them. My friends, its
The Most High  that graced you with being able to be in front of his crowds.
That is true vibeful blessings, for not everyone enjoys that feeling of the audience
and the energy they can give a performer.

That is why it is important to give excellence to all. Then the true deeply resonant human vibes which is the foundation of reggae. To sooth the world with that sweet musical hug.

No one owns a crowd or a city or a town or a country. All belongs to The
Most High One God. Always remember that. Togetherness and Inity is the vision and goal of it is reggae.

Ego has no part in that equation. As they say a band of sticks is stronger than a single stick, and can do so very much more. That is how all the artist in the reggae
genre should be.

If not we will lose not only in vibrations but the mission that was set forth will not be completed. And that cannot happen for the world needs reggae in its pure and unique vibrance to keep that irie balance... to keep it steady,to keep it cool, to keep it together my friends

Till next month when I again have the pleasure of vibing with you all my friends, I wish you and your families good health and happy times. For those of you who like myself have elderly parents,do not forget to honor them and spend time enjoying each others company. Family is a sacred and special love.

Play reggae music every day and let urself be carried by the heartbeat rhythms

Peace In

HAPPY NEW YEAR, REGGAE

Peace to all my loyal readers and excellent friends. Wishing you and your family a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year! May the '07 bring you great successes and reveal to you, your life's fulfillment.

As we reflected on the trials and tribulations we managed to accumulate throughout the year, many of us became eager to close the door on 2006 without ever look back. The countdown began after sunset on New Years Eve and we celebrated throughout the night in anticipation of launching into 2007 with a fresh, new start. At the stroke of midnight, the merriment continued as we happily embraced the New Year with open arms…for it was out with the '06 and in with the '07.

Ready or not, 2007 is here and behind every new beginning, change is sure to follow. If you happen to have read my previous article posted in December entitled, United we Stand, Reggae to All, you should recall the envision I established explaining my insight on the future of Reggae music. As I mentioned last month, the Reggae genre has always held a strong and steady vibe throughout musical history and continues to expand greatly amongst new audiences with its development further into the next level every year. This year's Grammy nominees include the legendary sly and robbie ziggy marley, Buju Banton, UB40, and a new name you might have already become familiar with, Matisyahu. The Jewish Reggae/Rapper's commercial acceptance into the music scene has shined a light on cornering where Reggae music stands today. I feel positive about this because that radiance illuminates my ultimate vision of spreading and embracing one love universally, especially throughout the hard times our current world status forces us to endure. It creates a memorandum exposing unemployment, poverty, homelessness, starvation and all of the other social ills that accompany life with pain and suffering. Reggae will continue to send its message through speaking out on the injustice and corruption of mankind against mankind.

Another commercial icon who reintroduced himself dancing into the mainstream spotlight is Sean Paul. His semi-recently dropped hits featured renowned artists such as, Keisha Cole and Rhianna, allowing him to gain even more than his already omnipresent, worldwide recognition. Baby Cham not only came on strong in the dancehall scene with his single, Ghetto Story, but also the remixes, Ghetto Story: Part II, featuring Alicia Keys
and Ghetto Story: Part III, featuring Akon, BOTH topped the charts shortly after they were released. Damian Marley reunited radio with Roots chanting, Welcome to Jamrock, which still receives solid radio play today. Integrating reggae into his already unique hip hop style, The Game sampled the infamous Junior Reid's, One Blood, and created a clever, one of a kind collaboration which introduced a universal new sound. Beanie Man,
Buju Banton, and the king himself, Sizzla, all released eminent albums in '06 and will most definitely carry over the quality into '07.

That's only a fraction of the decent music we can expect to hear and evolve we move further into the future. Countless talented musical artists from all over the world will emerge from their underground panorama and reveal their unique brilliance by utilizing the gifts God granted to put forth their element in building the continual structure of the Reggae movement…or should I say GROOVEment? May the new generation of music lovers not only learn to accept, but also understand the culture behind Reggae's ambiance by appreciating the music it's derived from with one love and overall support for the artistry in which Reggae has represented since the beginning of time.

To all my roots, rock and reggae lovers, I say this loud and I say it proud. HAPPY NEW YEAR, REGGAE!!! As time continues to turn, we shine our beacon of light upon the path we call life. Our words become actions, and our actions mature into greater enhancements, in hopes of providing us with the strength to overcome today's challenges and the faith necessary in guiding us to a better tomorrow.

Onward, to greatness…

THE REGGAE AWARD NEEDS AND SHOULD BE TELIVISED AT THE GRAMMIES

Peace and all the positive vibrations. So, I know you folks watched the last
grammy award show and saying to myself: "Wow! The industry is still
neglecting the solid and fundamental vibes of the music genre called
reggae".

Why can't the reggae award be televised for the whole world to
see? I know a lot of catergories are not shown for the viewing audience
due to lack of time and so many awards to give out, but come on, how
many years now? Come on!

Do you folks remember when rap was on the back burner and folks
said it was a passing fad or a trend? Well guess what? Hip-hop, rap,
call it what you may. It is still alive and kicking with the wellness.
It generates well over billions of dollars. And remember Wil Smith was
the first one's to get the award that was televised. And now we have
more than one rap music catergory, and true not all are televised, but
the main one is, and, there is at least one performance.

So why can`t they do the same for the reggae when we know the
reggae is the father of rap music? Sometimes dad`s get no credit, but
they do much work and lay solid foundations.

Is reggae music the sleeping dinosaur of the industry? Only to be
used when the earthly urb is in movies and such "wow". Thank you for
that.

How many years has it been now included in the nominations but not
recognized to the fullest? And we all know the media representation is
the key to get to the world, or at least one way in ways of many. Now
folks? Folks have a petition going around to the music academy to
include the award on the televised part of the show, so we will see. I
tell you though, if big name reggae acts get together and make the
their voices be heard I do think things can happen much faster if they
do. Don`t you? That is what the rappers who were hot at that time did.
They added their name to the momentum of it, and it happened and has
been flourishing ever since.

What will it take? When will it be? I am an observer in life. My
good friends, I only speak on what I see, and what I have been through,
and, in a way I think it is time been time for reggae to get the light
it needs to keep the world warm with the irieness. The dinosaur has
awaken and will rise up.

We have a newcomer, Matisyahu, an orthodox jewish brother packing
venues world wide and getting much media attention and bringing reggae
to the mainstream.i dig his music we all have a path to trod on.
a nu generation of reggae lovers in the wonderful world which is reagge to vibe with the many artist in the genre And I am with that. All tools needed to keep the
building maintained is the goal. But I wonder to myself, if he is
nominated for a grammy in the reggae catorgory, will they then televise
it? The dinaosaur has awaken and will continue to rise and shine.

ALWAYS THE LOVE AND MUCH PEACE-IN

REGGAE MUSIC HAS NEVER DISRESPECTED WOMEN

Reggae music has never disrespected women. Had bob ever said
to the woman in a song: "I love to see you strip down naked and shake
that ass." Or, Go get that money any way you can". No.

Bob and no other reggae artist has ever uttered those words. "No
Woman No Cry", "Is this Love?", "She's Gone", and "Running away",
listen to those songs. All speak on life relations with a woman. Real
life situations of a man and woman, and as Bob said: "music is to make
the woman feel uplifted and think good things". Reggae is the rhythm
of life and the beat of the universe". Fluid and true with nuff
positive vibrations. The woman is to be be respected.

She creates by the mercy of the most high. Creation out of
creation, raising the next generation to take hold and carry on the
torch of human enhancement.

So tell me, how can music tell the woman she is nothing and only
for sexual gratification? And, she has to look a certain way to get
noticed. Come on people! Is that a proper way? Or, some women, if
they don`t have the body, then she is put aside. What happened to the
mind of the woman? Have we forgotten that precious jewel? Think of
the mothers, daughters, sisters of the world.

When I hear some rappers call women degrading things, I say to
myself: "I wonder if their fathers said that to their moms, and better
yet, would they want their daughters to be degraded like that?

I was recently at a rap show, and the rapper, I will not mention
any names, was like: "where my bitches at?" "Put yo hands up and holla
for me!" And then, the women screamed. Some did not, but most did.
It struck me as strange. For if I was to call these ladies a bitch, I
would be called every name in the book, and I might even get slapped.
I asked a lady friend the vibe on that she told me: "It is a song, and
in a concert you get caught up." She then told me: After a show,
that ain`t cool."right! It should not be cool at any time. There are no
reggae videos with half naked ladies dancing around. No mocking sexual
acts for shock value.no videos shot in a strip club or some shower scene
With ladies bathing each other.or the fantasy scene where the guy gets out of the bed and
You see two or three girls stretching and smiling as they wake up also. Please come on now!

Reagge comes with pure vibes not perfect but with much life essence and excellence to the woman. The
together struggles of life where us humans have been, and vibes to
where we are going; rise up my sweet and lovely woman, you are to be
honored and respected. For with that, you pass quality to the children.
especially the daughters
You raise. and reggae is with you along the way. With sweet
melodies and grooves to soothe the mind and body. And not just Bob,
you check any reggae artist from the known to the unknown, and it will
be always the same. Love of the woman , love of the earth, love to all
creation.

You tell me, haven't you been to a concert, and if the artist adds
the reggae vibe to any of their songs, don't you see the smiles of joy?
The natural reflex of happiness? The head swaying, and the hands
going? Can you feel the vibes of the reggae as it enters and blends
with the soul in a cosmic explosion of love and mellowness to the body?
The body of the woman. Reggae loves you ladies, and will always
strive in bringing you quality with much irie niceness.

Love and peace-in.

CAN YOU IMAGINE THE WORLD WITHOUT REGGAE MUSIC?

Can you imagine the world without reggae music? What a sad world that would be, wouldn't it? No positive vibrations for the world to get a hold of. No conscious lyrics for the ears, mind, and soul. No heavy drumming bass to make your feet move and your body sway just on the natural reflex. No vibes for the people of struggle and oppression around the world to cloak themselves with. No vibes for the next generation coming, so they can appreciate the differences of people around the world. Oh yes, what a dismal world that would be.

Reggae is music of inspiration to all, worldwide, universal love. Acknowledgement of truths, justice and equality for man, woman and child. Reggae is the light breaking through the darkness of the world beaming through like a laser focused and accurate. It comes to bring insight into the plight of the world, people's struggles, personal and as a community, with solutions all human beings can relate to. Reggae is international. Every city in the U.S. has many reggae bands. Countries worldwide such as Japan, Italy, Brazil, Australia, Russia, and more. All represent with their own appreciation for the reggae spirit. And I say forward on my good friends, forward on.

Some rappers will tell you to get your money, get them girls. Some rockers will tell you the world is dark and there's no way out, but no matter how poor and how heavy in the struggle it may be, reggae will always tell you stand firm, stand up, be strong, be patient, give and show love. And make your feet move upon reflex.

In the 90's they named Bob Marley entertainer of the decade. What an honor. Given to a person who did and continues to bring people all over the world together through the power of music. His music catalog is one of the most bought worldwide. He was the foundation of reggae. By the mercy and grace of the most high. And I'm sure Bob would expect us to continue on the path of integrity in our lives musically and otherwise.

I was watching TV. and they were talking about the war in Iraq. They showed a crowd of people, and this one young youth, couldn't be no more than 12 or 13, had a Bob Marley shirt on. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I mean. Destruction, mayhem, war. And the light of reggae shines on a shirt worn by a youth. The next generation. We have to do them right. We have to show them right. In the dark, reggae, reggae is the light. Much love and always the peace-in.

SEX STORIES
PEACE
you know i was at rehersal and this guy said to me "cool locks man" i thanked him then he said to me "i bet u get a lot of women with locks, chicks love them" i smiled and went back to rehersing. at home in my quiet time i started to reflect.
guys and some women have said that to me from time to time
and you know what. that is crap to me.
i have locks going on 10 years now and it has always be a spiritual vibe for me. that is why i would never cut them for locks teaches patient and so much more and as u enhance it enhances
so with that let me give u brief vibe of ME NAJASHI
vocal person in DREAD DAZE. MY SPACE
my good friend motiv8 turned me on to my space in feb of 04
he said it was a place good to promote music and get the vibes out and connect with good folks. and that i have so many so many. but some have asked me how many women i have met from myspace, how many i have slept with and so on
let me say i do not use my space to hook up and sleep with women. not my style it is all about good vibes and getting a positive message to the folks that is my mission here on di space
i do not need the internet to scope women for sex and such
for one to much time wasted on that.u need credit cards to hook with some sites.i aint got no credit card and if i am scoping then there must be millions of men scoping also. to much competion for me to handle. i live in los angeles tons of women i see daily walking and such IF it was that serious.
I WOULD NOT BE ON MY SPACE ALL THE DAMN TIME.
i am musician and my goal is to travel the world do good music meet good folks and see how people cook potatoes around the world.[i love potatoes] not having sex with women where ever i go. that is not the vibe. but the stereotype of a musician is ask any one. sleeps with lots of women, does lots of drugs, flaky all around or a asshole. i am none of these i have never heard of someone owing bills like rent, car note and food, gas rite
and them going to the bill collector and saying u know i have no money but i just slept with 3 women at the same time and if i tell u the story can i not pay my bill.or get a discount i don`t think so they want cash money
fundage,
so having a bunch of sex with women and stories after shows.that don`t pay bills
1. never hit a women =ask ike turner on that.
2. never was married and left my wife and some shady shit=ask brad pitt on that.
3.don`t have any babies mama or babies i don`t know about i have no kids=ask some of your favorite sports figures on that.
4.never used a women for monies or things=ask your so called pimps on that.

i am a musicain plain and simple striving on the path. but some may think different. well let me ask u a lot of folks have pics and things from their favorite bands, sports figures, super heroes, writers etc they support them. i wonder if early in their careers folks around them love ones and family members said to them. u are always busy,u neglect me,u don`t love me,u don`t spend time.u know to many women u know know to many men
why didn`t u call. i wonder if oprah got that, if prince got that, the person who created lets say superman or batman or spiderman, got that
if ghandi got that, if marcus garvey got that if malcom x got that
i don`t know but what i do know that we all respect these folks and the contributions they gave to the world.
i am not saying i am any of them but i am a man STRIVING TO BRING GOOD VIBES IN ALL ASPECTS TO THE WORLD IN MY SAMLL WAY.
i am not perfect.i am a only child i can be selfish not with things but with my time yes. i love the vibes of crowds and stages but most of all i CHERISH THE TIME BY MYSELF i am able to gather vibes throw out the bad and keep the good and give the good back
that is how i was raised by my mum and a bunch of strong beautiful women. that is why i do love women all colors shapes and sizes i have much respect for them all. that universal love. not that let me see what u got between them legs love.

so with that i conclude u may not like najashi or catch my vibes
but DREAD DAZE IS NOT ABOUT ME or any band member is it much greater.
it`s about that WORLDWIDE LOVE CARING AND SHARING AND BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER OF ALL WALKS OF LIFE
TRUE LIFE ENHANCEMENTS MY GOOD FRIENDS. PLAIN AND SIMPLE
THAT IS WHAT MY SPACE IS TO ME
that be a littel about me.
love and much peace-in

If Bob Marley was alive today:

By:  Najashi

As I look around at the music scene in the world, and even more closely as I look at reggae, I wonder to myself if Bob Marley was alive today, what would he think, what would he say about the state of reggae music.  I’m sure that he would be very appreciative of the worldwide popularity and the new generation that embraces the music.  But I think that he would be disappointed that reggae is still put on the back burner of the musical stove. Case and point, the Grammy’s, reggae music is rewarded a Grammy but it has never been televised for the world to see the winner of any given year.  I think that’s a shame.  I think also as Bob said: “Play me on the R & B.  I want all my people to see we bubblin’ on the top 100 just like a mighty dread.”

And still, as we go into 2006, you tell me, is reggae seen on a regular basis?  On Billboard Magazine?  Rolling Stone Magazine?  Radio and Charts Magazine?  M-TV, M-TV 2, BET, VH-1?  That’s a shame.  But every genre is represented to the fullest.  Rock, pop, rap, punk, country, even classical music.  And we know for a fact that pop, rock, punk, rap, even country with Willie Nelson doing a reggae album, have all drank from the nectar of the reggae vibe, and have incorporated it with their genre of music.  So why is reggae left as the old dinosaur?  To be used only in the summertime to be used at cookouts and barbeques.  Basically summertime and sunshine fun.  When we know for a fact that Bob, Peter, and Bunny, at the time, weren’t hanging out at the beach sipping on drinks with bikini-clad girls running around them.

It was far from that.  It was struggle, hard times, struggle, but within that, the music emerged as a revolution of sound and enhancement to the peoples mind.  And we know that if it weren’t for reggae there would be no rap of today.  So why is reggae not a billion dollar industry like every other type of music?  And would Bob be doing the style of music that he did in the 70’s, in 2006?  Have you ever asked yourself that?  We give respect to all of the living legends of reggae:  Toots and the Maytals, Bunny Wailer, Burning Spear, Steel Pulse, Barington Levy, Don Carlos, The Abysinians, and much more.  Bob would be proud.  But I think he would also look to see what young bands are coming up with in the vibes of reggae.  But year in year out, it’s always the same, and promoters say they need the sure thing for the venue because it is a business.  Truly, that is overstanded.

But where is the vision with integrity I wonder?  How is reggae to elevate and step to the next level like every other type of music has and does if promoters and the people who make things happen in the reggae world aren’t willing to take a chance with bands that will take reggae to that level?  Bob was about no boundaries.  So, why are we, in the reggae community so constricted, so tight, so only for this and for that one, but not for that one?  Bob was never like that.  And I don’t think that he would want to be the soul reggae icon of the world.  Rappers
