Time to Face the Music.

Yesterday i started working on my new album to be....Not that i was pushing ' n twiddling knobs or played guitars or anything, but simply inside my head i have started composing again and trying to challenge myself to find new directions. So will it be the same as Recitement or not? Yes and no.....I'll probably work with a slightly different, if not more radical, soundpalette and less retro oriented, spoken word yes, but in another way...of which i ll tell you more soon.. Actually, your suggestions are also welcome, let me know. I ll keep you posted here, ok?

.. is the name of the new album by the Lotus Eaters from Liverpool, England. It is not ready as yet, but the nucleus of the band have finished writing 17 songs for it and i was invited to arrange the album as we also share a past together. It promises lots of original melodies and surprising harmonies and the album will be produced by Steve Power somewhere in Spring this year. Songs of the album will be played live in July at the Lotus Eaters homebase in Liverpool at the Philharmonic Hall together with songs from the No Sense of Sin album, their critically acclaimed album from 25 years ago including hitsingle First Picture Of You. Check the Lotus Eaters MS profile for more details on this. Meanwhile i am very happy and excited to work with them again. TBC.

but these days it is refreshing to see a review of Recitement, the cd that really nails it. The analysis is so on point and has been put in to words so eloquently that it is almost as nice as the texts i used on the album by other great authors. A happy compliment therefore to Brian Howe of Pitchfork.

Hi friend,
Thought to let you know that we've just uploaded a new track called Invergence of the Twain after a piece by Thomas Hardy called Convergence of the Twain. Which are lines on the loss of the " Titanic" as he sees the Titanic as being in a sort of under water seclusion and deals with craftsmanship, loss, and destiny. Nature won this battle and the Titanic rests at the bottom of the sea as a testimony of Nature's victory. It is performed by the Q-tip of the Lowlands and his name is, appropriately, Shyrock. The instrumental backing is a simple americana- style combo tune interspersed with some illustrative noise atmospherics. Hope you like it. I do. Stephen
