Not since the Great Depression that started in 1929, "has there been so
great an opportunity in America for practical dreamers as now exists.
The recent economic collapse has reduced all men and women, substantially, to the same level. A new race is about to be run. The stakes represent huge fortunes which will be accumulated within the next ten years. The rules of the race have changed, because we now live in a CHANGED WORLD that definitely favors the masses, those who had but little or no opportunity to win under the conditions existing during the depression, when fear paralyzed growth and development. We who are in this race for riches, should be encouraged to know that this changed world in which we live is demanding new ideas, new ways of doing things, new leaders, new inventions, new methods of teaching, new methods of marketing, new books, new literature, new features for the radio, new ideas for moving pictures. Back of all this demand for new and better things, there is one quality which one must possess to win, and that is DEFINITENESS OF PURPOSE, the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning DESIRE to possess
it." Paraphrased from Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill, who wrote
this book in 1937 describing how such leaders as thomas Edison, Henry
Ford and Marshal Field became the successful dreamers and leaders of
their time. This book holds the key to your success! The new business
paradigm of network marketing is the way to utilize the information and
business savvy of these great men possessed to create your own wealth.
Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing is the new wave of business that will help
you achieve that goal. You can call me, or email me, and I will show

I would like to introduce you to Fortune-Hi-Tech Marketing. It is
completely different from any home-based, computer-based business I
have ever seen before. Fortune Hi-Tech Marketing, or FHTM, offers
products and services that people use every day - from cell phone
service to DishNetwork to vitamins to organic cosmetic products to a
rewards mall with more vendors than any other in the country! You get
paid a commission for not only the initial purchase someone makes from
the vendors, but also on every month's payments. Most people stick with
their service providers for years, and are very loyal. You even get
paid a commission for the products and services you and your family
use! You or your customers order directly from your very own website,
and voila, commissions earned!! Believe me, I have been in Amway, with
all the products stacked in boxes in my living room, and Mary Kay,
ditto, and even Tupperware, but I couldn't get them to work for me. I
had to bug my friends and family to buy stuff they didn't need or want
to help me be successful. I needed to have some storage space for the
products I was selling, cluttering up some of my living space. But,
then I found FHTM and things are completely different. I don't have to
have any products cluttering my space - it's all drop-shipped or
ordered directly by you or your customers from the vendors via computer
or telephone! All your customers need is your website address and
representative number. How wonderful to just gather some loyal
customers, a few distributors in your down-line with THEIR loyal
customers, and you have a thriving business with RESIDUAL INCOME. It
would be impossible NOT to make this work as at least a part-time
business, and help you get moving on retirement funds, or to make extra
money just part-time. I will also make sure you receive the training
you need so that you can be successful in the shortest possible time.
Not many Network Marketing businesses offer free training. I DO!!!!
Just think - FREE TRAINING IN YOUR OWN HOME BUSINESS!!! I can offer
training for those who wish to join my organization, guaranteeing not
only your success, but also my own. The opportunity to be TRAINED FOR
SUCCESS has changed the way I look at this business, and I hope you
will consider looking into it, as well. Check out my FHTM website:

Everyone showed up to perform. Marie was a little late, she had misunderstood the kick-off time, but it turned out just fine. Mike and Lenny Federal were already there, and were happy to go on in Marie's slot. They were funny, too, with their rendition of the "Dog Song" (Don't Pet The Dog...) and "Lee County Lizard Man", one of their originals. Then Marie came on, and we were back on schedule. Willy Evans trio was fabulous as always, and Jim Garrett's band (encompassing the Trio) played some of my favorite oldies. Michael Reno Harrell was his usual mesmerizing self, playing original folk music with Tom Kuhn on Bass. John Oak, a recent transplant from NYC, and my new friend, played a miriad of wonderful songs displaying his considerable skill on the guitar and led into the Hobo's Jungle band's return from exile from the stage. We played for about another 40 minutes, then had to give way for the karaoke guy to do his thing. We made over $1,000.00 for Habitat, and had a blast doing it!! The only disappointment for me was that my friends from church didn't show up - well, with the exception of Josha Crabtree and David Pacetti, and Barbara and Dan McClellan with their son Sam. I hate that all of the others missed it, but there's always next time. I thought it turned out exceptionally well, considering the fact that I have never organized anything on this scale. I have to admit that I am truly appreciative of Joan Harrell's experience and advice! Thanks so much, Joan - you are my friend forever!!

I spent the whole day in the studio backing a friend, and it was great!!!! I can't even tell you how long it's been since I've been in a studio - last one was in CA before Danielle was born, 24 years?!?!?!? Long time. It felt really good, too. Once I was comfortable, with a song I've sang the background to since I was 16 or so, I was fine. Almost all of the music was original, so it was learn on the fly. Good stuff, though. I was told to sing like I was THE vocalist. More fun. I'm used to singing like THE vocalist when I AM THE vocalist, and believe me, I can blow the instruments out when necessary. It was great. I can't wait to hear the finished product. Come out to Puckett's next Thursday, and I'll sing one for you. I wil be THE vocalist, then, though. Maybe John will be there and I can show off.....

Well, spring is sprung here in NC. Flowers and flowering trees everywhere! My allergies can attest to that one. But, we love the spring here. It is the second most beautiful season - my preference is the fall when the colors are everywhere!!! Tonight will be a good one, and I get to entertain with music in a little bar called Jeff's Bucket Shop. Should be fun. Will let you know tomorrow. Now to plant some flowers...

It was bad enough for Natalie Maines to put down President Bush in a foreign country, but now she even bad mouths the people who listen to her music! "I was ignorant to the fact that the stereotypes behind country music were true -- and it was disappointing," she said. She's ignorant, alright. I may even agree with her about Bush, and I'm free to have that opinion here in the USA, but I would never speak condescendingly about him in another country. I happen to like Country music very much, and I have more intelligence and education in my little finger than Ms. Maines will ever possess. I applaud the decisions of radio disc jockeys in the South who ban their music, and I hope that other areas of the country will do likewise. Maybe when the stereotypical country music fans in other areas of the country hear or read that they are disappointing to the Chicks, they will ask that the Chick's music be banned from their radio stations, as well. Granted, the girls are very talented, virtuosos on their instruments, even. However, if virtuosity must be combined with ignorance, it is better left unheard.

Well, another Christmas is nearly here. I just wish I could get into the Christmas spirit. Danielle is off in Dallas with her Nanny and Pawpaw, living with Sean for the moment. Probably a good place for her to be. She can help nanny out around the house, and help Sean with Olivia, his 4-year-old daughter. Al is so sweet and supportive. I've been job-hunting for months, now and nothing. It's depressing. Doesn't anyone want to hire a 50-year-old woman who has great skills and experience and can do just about anything? I did manage to find Cyndi, and old neighbor from California, who was my dear friend. I've been looking for her all over the west coast. I happened to stumble onto her son, CJ on myspace, and he sent her my email address. She's remarried, with a different last name, and she's just up in WV. Who could have known! I hope we can spend some time getting to re-know each other in the coming year. I intend to keep in touch so we don't lose each other again. Well, maybe that can cheer me up somewhat. And the big 5-0 is coming too soon for me. Where did life go? I think I need to get busy doing the things I love the most, like spending more time with my dad and Grandma. They aren't getting any younger either. Well, no sense in contemplating the downside. Gotta go do something constructive. Later!

Had a blast last night. Went to Puckett's for the open mic, and there was noone there - well, no one but Dale Hillyard, Dennis Davis and Sonny Falls, along with myself. Sonny thought he had brought his bass, since the usual bass player was busy and couldn't be there. Weren't we glad he had his Telly, instead!!! We pulled up 4 stools and 3 mics, and just played around the stage - for hours! I could have sung "one more song" till the sun came up. I haven't done that in ages, and I think we all had a great time just playing stuff we really didn't know... but what the heck. There was some really great music for just 4 people and 4 guitars. Dale did some of his fantastic standards. We had Denny singing Eagles stuff so I could harmonize. I'd never met Sonny - great guitarist, nice man. Hope to meet and play with him again in the future. Denny is just amazing (as always) at figuring out what I'm playing, which can be difficult on some of the funky stuff I play with the wierd chord changes - LOL!! He was right there with me. Denny also let us hear some of the new album he and Wink Keziah have been working on - AWESOME!! I hear they've asked Robin Rogers to do some vocals - equally AWESOME! You can check out both Robin and Wink at myspace. They are in my friends group. I'll fill you in on the title of the new album when I know...

You know recording is a lot harder than I remember it being. I have spent DAYS trying to put together a small disc to use as a demo disc in lining up bookings. Why is it so hard? I guess I'm just out of practice. It's a whole lot easier to just take my guitar and audition, than to try and make the recordings sound good. What I need is a manager to do the bookings, and the money to record in a studio, like I used to. One of these days...
