Hi!

I have lots to say, so pay attention...

Christmas! It's coming, whether you like it or not, and I can't WAIT!! I'm so sad I can't play all my Christmas music for you though :( BUT here are my favorites - go listen if you want :)

Ryan Huston - "Let it Snow"
Mike Isbert feat. Jennifer Fabian - "Baby, It's Cold Outside"
Colbie Caillat - "Mistletoe"

I have lots more, but not all are on myspace. Anyway, moving on...

Have you ever seen Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? I watched it last night while I was at work (and working hard, clearly) and I tried soooo hard not to cry! It's such a good movie though. You should see it if you haven't yet.

So you know how I have a mad crush on the Innocent Bystanders cd? Yes, a crush on a cd. Well, they have new music out now.. it's technically unreleased, but you can hear it on their other myspace here. My personal favorite is No Win Situation. Or, if you'd rather hear stuff you already know, go listen to their cd here.

Colbie Caillat has a new cd coming out this Tuesday! Ok, it's not reeeally new.. it's a deluxe version of her debut cd, Coco. It includes several new songs - get it on iTunes November 11! Or, if you'd rather not purchase the whole cd again, you can get just the new songs in a nice little bundle.

Um... I think that's it. For now. I'll find more to talk about soon I'm sure! :) So what's going on with you?

And I'm suuuuuuper excited!! :) I may or may not have already started my Christmas wish list....

Anyway, I'm not ashamed to say that I love Christmas music. When I was little, my mom started playing it in the house right after Thanksgiving when she was decorating. Now it reminds me of Christmases when I was little and (children, look away for a sec) Santa still came to my house.

And I'm really excited to tell you that there's a new Christmas CD out with the artists from the current Hotel Cafe Tour! It includes music from Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Colbie Caillat, Meiko, Butch Walker and more!

Find the track listing here!

Also, if you'd like to help cross items off my Christmas wish list, I accept Maurices gift cards in all amounts. Just sayin' :)

91.7 The Edge went back on the air today... sans Indie Cafe :( Usually this Friday would be the day I show off all the music I got and fell in love with over the summer, but I'll no longer be on the air there. SO I'm just telling you here what you should go check out! Sound like a plan? Okay, good.

The loves of my life (or of my iTunes) now include:

Jason Mraz "We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things"
especially: I'm Yours, Lucky (featuring Colbie Caillat), Details in the Fabric

Meiko "Meiko"
especially: How Lucky We Are, Reasons to Love You, Boys With Girlfriends

Duffy "Rockferry"
especially: Mercy, Syrup and Honey, Warwick Avenue

The Innocent Bystanders "The Innocent Bystanders"
especially: Under Wraps, Popsicles, Got 2 Have You, Track Five, Bad Karma

Sorry I'm too lazy to add links to their profiles, but they're all worth searching - I promise!

oh, and ps - I have the new New Kids on the Block cd. Feel free to take a moment to be jealous.

Hey all! I have a few news, updates for you... including (but not limited to) a new cd you need to hear, artists in the studio, AND a shocking story of a huge artist who was REJECTED on American Idol!!

Meiko is my favorite new artist. Go to my myspace page to listen to her song, "How Lucky We Are." I think every college student/someone just starting out in their career can relate. (The first lines are "One day we'll get out of this shitty apartment / One day is all it takes for things to turn around now / All I know is I got you and you got me babe / And when that morning comes I'll make coffee, you'll read the paper / We'll talk about our plans and I'll keep saying how lucky we are") Her CD, "Meiko," is available on iTunes now, and in stores next month.

The Good Luck Joes, possibly getting back in the studio later this year - keep checking for updates!

Martha Berner playing a show in Lake Geneva later this month. Check my page for specific date/time!

Guess who was a reject on American Idol.......?!?!......................... COLBIE CAILLAT! True story, you can read it here (I'll bet those producers are kicking themselves in the ass right now!)

Also, Colbie's going back in the studio to record a new album in January. Look for a release date next summer! :)

Peace yo,

Kathy

Hey!

I'm very sad to say that Indie Cafe will no longer be a radio show. :( It's been on the air since 2006, and many new, local, and indie artists have had their music played on the show and stopped by for an interview. I've had SO much fun with it, but unfortunately due to other obligations, I can't continue the show. :(

Thanks to everyone who has sent music, asked about the show, listened, and told their friends about it!

Don't delete this page though - I'll still be posting artist info, news, and concert updates.

Also make sure to check out redbananamedia.com - it's a great new webzine for up and coming artists.

Thanks again to everyone who helped out with the show!

According to Katy Perry, a girl kissing another girl is "not what good girls do." So, if a female is in an exclusive relationship with a man, if she kisses a girl (someone who she cannot have actual feelings for), is it considered cheating?

I have discovered the world's most awkward moment. (No, it's not waking up next to someone you never would've even looked twice at while sober.) You know when you call someone, and you say "Hey, it's (insert your name)!"? Well, when you pause expecting them to say hi or at least something, and they say nothing... yeah, it's pretty damn awkward.

Any other random thoughts?

Hey!

There's a new online music publication I want you to check out... The Red Banana. I don't know the exact link, but they're on my top friends. (maybe the lovely people at the red banana can leave a blog comment so you don't have to go searching for them) :) Anyway, they're highlighting new, up-and-coming artists, and also wanting people to get involved! Check them out, and if you know of an artist they should look into, let them know!

Have a fantastically wonderful day

Kathy
