If you've been on my profile page you'll see that I've added the GoMix app which lets you do basic remixes of other bands' tracks. I've just done one for Battle for the Sun by Placebo, which is a bit of a departure from my usual downtempo stuff. Really, the GoMix app is a bit basic, but I had a bit of fun playing around with the track. So, have a listen and do one of the remixes yourself.

I've been an Ultravox fan since the day I first heard Vienna on the radio in the early 80's. They sort-of disbanded in 1986 and went their seperate ways, and I missed their final tour when I was a poor student at college! I was really excited when I heard they were going to reunite for a UK tour this year, and decided I just couldn't miss seeing them again. The tour is on now, and I went to the gig at Manchester Apollo the other evening (14 April). Had a great time but missed Mrs Mistrust not being there. I was on the front row, right in the middle and got some great photos and video clips.... have a look here:

As some of you may know by now, the inclusion of my Rude Mechanicals remix for Pitch Black will be my first ever release on a commercial CD! I'm also getting another release - on the Big Chill label around the same time! Here's the release info that I've been told so far....

Animat: Deep Space Lament (mistrust remix) - out 11th May 2009 on Animat: Deep Space Lament EP)

Pitch Black: Rude Mechanicals (mistrust ambiotik remix) - out end of April 2009 (download), and 4-8 May in stores, on Pitch Black: Rhythm Sound and Music

Both tracks are now on my music player, so please have a listen to them and spread the word.....

That's right - the remix of Deep Space Lament I did for Sheffield band Animat is now up on my music player, so please listen and see what you think (and add it to your profile!). It's going to be released on Big Chill Records in early May (TBC) but it's here exclusively on Myspace a few weeks early. I'm really proud of this remix - I only had a week to get it done in and somehow it all came together really quickly. It's one of those tracks that you think to yourself "how did I do that?"

What's this? Two new remixes up on my music player? Don't forget, there's also the two version of the remix I did of Rude Mechanicals also on the player. The original version is on "Rhythm Sound and Movement", Pitch Black's new remix CD, which is out on download at the end of April 2009, and in the shops early May!!!!

Hello there! I've just uploaded an alternative version of the remix I did for Pitch Black's Rude Mechanicals. The band wanted a slightly bassier version to go on their forthcoming remix CD "Rhythm, Sound and Movement" (out end of April/early May 2009), but in the end they stuck with my original version! The alternative version on my player includes a few different effects and isn't fully mastered.

Also new on the player are a couple of unreleased tracks, "Train Wreck" and "Me and You". The first is just something I made with some sound fx loops, and the second is me ad-libbing on the Yamaha Motif XS6 I won a couple of years ago. By ad-libbing, I mean it was done in one take, and there are a couple of mistakes in there. One day I'll turn it in a proper song!
