Acoustic Stage is run solely by volunteers who all share one thing – an intense passion for music and a desire to help build a thriving live scene in Cambridge. Because of this ethos any money that is generated from putting on gigs is used solely to cover costs and to enable us to put on future events. We are often asked by bands how much we pay and the simple answer is we don't. We would if we could but because of the nature of what we do it is not possible. We have to make gigs appealing to venue owners and managers and, therefore, there is simply no margin left to play with. The reward we provide for our bands is the opportunity to play at venues that would not be supporting live music if Acoustic Stage did not exist.  Music is increasingly becoming a commodity within our modern culture but that is not a trend we accept and we will continue to do all we can to work with musicians and bands who love music for the same reasons that we do.

We book artists on the quality of their music and their enthusiasm to play, not experience, how many tours you've done etc etc. We will do our best to offer everyone a gig if we can, although it's good to bare in mind the following things.

We'll do our best to book you into the most appropriate venue we operate from, as venues come and go we can't always guarantee that there will be one suitable for your music genre at the time of you getting in touch so we will keep your message on file and hopefully get back to you. Sometimes the venue isn't the right set up, audience may not be right for your music or indeed the distance you have to travel wouldn't make it worth your while. We wouldn't want to encourage to you to come and play to an empty room so if you're not local and you do suit a particular venue we'll try and fit you in when there is a similar local band/artist on who's fans will appreiciate your music too.

If you can't bring in an audience then let us know, we'd rather get an idea of what an evening will be like to we can programme it accordingly, this won't affect your chances of getting a gig with us just give us a heads up so we can plan ahead appropriately

As with all gigs on this level there are no guarantees of audience sizes so please don't ask us if there will be a crowd, believe it or not we don't enjoy sitting in an empty venue anymore than you like to play in one!

What we will guarantee is that you will be appreciated, be looked after and wil 100% be given a great sound as all our venues are equipped with a decent pa system and sound engineer.

We will list your gig on our listings as well as promote the show as much as we can. We encourage all artists and bands to promote themselves and would be more than happy to provide you with a full list of local radio stations, newspaper and magazine contacts which will be happy to hear from artists performing in Cambridge.
