Hi! A quick update... I’ve got a couple LA shows coming up, one of which is THIS weekend: • Sunday, July 19 th @ The Viper Room, Hollywood, CA w/ Get Back Loretta, Lexicon, and the Summerset West. • Saturday, Sept. 12th @ The Knitting Factory, Hollywood, CA w/ The Honorary Title, Good Old War, and Cory Brannan Lately my song "Break" has been charting over at Alternative Addiction, currently at number 3. If you have yet to check out this great website, or "Break" you should head over and check them both out, even if you've heard it you could go pay them a visit to thank them for supporting me (and maybe give it a stream and a vote while you are at it). I did an interview with the site a few months back, and I'm not sure if I ever told you, so check that out here. In other news, after a long break I’ve decided to become studious again and the fine University of Southern California has decided to let me in! I will be working on another record while I’m there this fall and will still be playing shows and touring during breaks, but it’s official: I’m a college student…again. I only have a bit left to finish, and I’m very excited that I get to do so at USC. Hope to see you at a show soon. Fight On, William

So I decided, because so many people weren't able to get to one of the East Coast shows, or one of the recent LA shows, and because so many of you kept asking, that we would offer up some of the handmade edition Lovers & Haters EP's on my merch store! (The exclamation point means excitement)
We are offering the same combo deal we offered on tour as well, which is great if you don't have my full length yet.
The merch store can be found right here.
Thanks guys, and hope to see you soon!

I've been out of touch on here for about a week. Last Sunday my Mom and little sister were in a car accident. Thankfully EVERYONE IS OK, but it was a bit traumatic and the airbags broke my Mom's right wrist, and two fingers on her left hand. My little sister walked away with seemingly minor whiplash.
I was in San Francisco for a wedding when I got the call at about 2 am. These are the scariest of phone calls; the ones that push pause on your life when you least expect it. Fortunately, this one didn't turn out as bad as it first seemed. "Your Mom and sister have been in a car accident...", not exactly the ideal beginning to a phone call at 2 in the morning, and your mind, or at least my mind, can jump to some horrible places in the second it takes to hear that phrase, but all is well. Broken bones can be fixed, and cars can be replaced.
I woke my friends up and dragged them back down to socal a little earlier than expected. And as you can tell by my absence from answering messages on here, I spent the last week in Orange County helping my Mom. My little sisters have school during the day, my stepdad works in finance (if you've turned on the tv, radio or internet you know that last week was just a little bit busy and stressful at work for guys like him), and with a broken wrist on her right arm and broken fingers on the left -not to mention the effects of the percaset they had running through her body-, Mom was a bit handicapped.
Now I'm back at my place, and back to work on music. Mom had surgery on Thursday. The Doctor put a plate and seven screws into her wrist, and says she'll moving it and taking the splint on and off in a week or two. AMAZING. Thanks Dr. Phipps!
Drive carefully!

Ever notice how when people are talking on the phone on TV or in a movie that they never say goodbye at the end of the call? They just hang up. It's so weird! I want to know why. It's been bugging me for years. Why don't they just write "bye" or "talk to you later" into the script? The conversation just ends, and they hang up. If I pulled that crap in real life I would get a call back right away wondering if the phone dropped the call or if I just decided to be an asshole. What's the deal?

My best friend recently made Curious George his IM icon. This small change was the catalyst for a long IM conversation about favorite books from our childhood (it was also the catalyst for me to change my own icon to a headshot of the man in the yellow hat, invoke the caps lock, and tell him to "DANCE MONKEY, DANCE!"). That little trip down memory lane brought back thoughts of my favorite childrens book, and to be honest, one of my favorite books period, The Monster at the End of This Book: Starring Lovable, Furry Old Grover. I LOVED this little piece of literary brilliance! Each page consists of Grover (the original Elmo; the best sesame street muppet; and quite possibly the sole reason for my affinity for the color blue) begging and pleading that you not turn the page, because like the title says, there's a monster at the end of the book. And then the end, OH THE END, what a twist! It's like The Sixth Sense for six year olds! wait for it... wait for it... *spoiler alert* ...Grover is the monster at the end of the book!!!!! To his surprise and relief, as well as mine (every time), the only monster in that damn book at all is Grover himself! Please tell me someone has snatched up the movie rights to this. If not, let the letter writing campaign to the studios begin. I'm thinking Michael Bay to direct, and Paul Rudd to star. If Rudd's unavailable then Paul Giamatti. I just know it has to be a Paul. What was your favorite kids book?
